The Tower was such an intimidating villian. This tall being that represents suffering and pain just appears in his throne, when nobody was there moments before. I wish he had a better boss fight, because draining him 3 times and then holding circle for 2 seconds did NOT do him justice. What a waste.
The Black hand and the Tower Boss fights were underwhelming the Hammer was a good one but the other 2 were terrible. The captain and war chief fights were harder.
You dont even fight the black hand . Dude kills himself and channels Sauron. And it's like a minute of hitting X at the right moment. A monumental disgrace of a final boss fight. This fight was 100x better compared to that
i totally agree with you the way he stood up from that throne was so badass...and then he teleports....i was like wtf really? ahhh...i hate what they did to this boss fight...this could have been so much better, the only good part in it is the way he taunts talion...but god the black captains should have been treated with respect.
@@Chi.mer4 spoilers for shadow of war below The tower says that Tallion is a vessel for celembrimbor and that was right, because at the end of shadow of war, after talion releases a wraith, celembrimbor says ,,you are but a vessel"before he takes his ring and leaves talion to die, as he was but just a vessel. Edit: I accidentally edited nothing so I'm leaving this here now
this is a great scene one of my favourites it starts the conflict between Celebrimbor & Talion I think in shadow of war Celebrimbor will be obsessed with the New ring , becoming that which he swore to destroy " if you defeat Sauron and take the One you may become something far worse" I think Celebrimbor will take no shit
--------------Spoiler--------------- No bro, Talion is dead. He wore the ring, resisted the dark power of the ring and he prolonged the war for decades. After talion fell he became one of the nine and started searching for the One with nazgul. After Sauron's fell he actually won, dead and became free.
Such an intimdating foe, literally towering over you who makes a grand entrance, drops a bombshell about the true nature of Celebrimor then gets reduced to "sneak up behind him and put your hand on his face a couple times.
Awesome boss, dark, twisted looking, intimidating. One of the coolest villains in any game, and in the LOTR series (personal opinion). Shame the boss fight was so easy.
5:29 idk why but this part always creepedEd me out the fact that you can hear and potentially feel talions rage building up since the tower mention his family building up emotions and determination to finally finish off the tower and then the multiple knife blows trying to say the screams reflect the intensity of talions emotions and this moment serves as a catalyst for talions final push to defeat the tower and the closure of this past
This might not be a good boss fight at all but the atmosphere, the visuals, even the design is all so on point, we get a good solid moment with that illusion of Ioreth on top of the reveal-- the way the corpses heads track you the whole time is just the icing on the cake. What I liked the most about the Tower is that he is absolutely just a moment of "This may be lord of the rings, but you aren't getting away from F.E.A.R that easily."
You even played Zelda twilight princess? The final boss fight with ganondorf combined with his theme we’re epic. The tower gives off twilight princess ganondorf vibes. He screams epic and glorious boss fight but instead what we got was lack lustre.
I’m on the last mission but I had a lot of fun. Wasn’t too hard but still challenging at times. I just thought there would be a bit more actual fighting in the tower fight but still cool!
What could've made this fight better is if the first part was longer, maybe draining him five times (and each time he's drained he becomes less numerous and more aggressive in his search for Talion), then he either shifts the maze into an arena (basically lowering all the perches and towers to make it an open area) or he warps the duo to different locations Talion's been to as he fights him directly. Then, when his illusions are supposedly broken upon his defeat, Talion is warped back to the moment when he snuck up on Ioreth, only for the Tower to reveal it was Ered Glamhoth and tries to drain Talion (which involves more than just holding a button.)
The one problem I had with the first game was that the boss fights were underwhelming. I mean, Tower you drain him 3 times then hold circle and then for Black Hand you just get a quick time event. Such underwhelming boss fights in an awesome game.
I was already furious with the Hammer for taunting Talion about his family. When the Tower had the nerve to actually use their voices, to turn Talion's own memories against him, I desired his agony with such fervor I could almost taste it.
@@Chi.mer4 I imagine it would play more like a manipulative strategy game rather than intense direct combat. The Tower likes to screw with people before he kills them, and from what I remember he often makes people do the killing for him and then makes them feel bad about it. Tbh I think if a game like that was released in 2023 it would do really well, as long as there is actual effort put into making it.

The plot bossfights in the two games are a glorified sequence of mediocre QTEs. A huge waste for games with such fun combat...
The coolest looking boss with the coolest stage and the coolest intro had the worst “boss fight” in the history of gaming.
