Fingers crossed you get everything sorted brotha. I got a passenger side leak coming from the axel shaft seal. Already replaced the axle twice and did the seal kit twice and it still leaks. At this point I believe it's something internally with the transmission and it eventually needs to be rebuilt.
Thank you! I'm going to take it to a shop at this point. Sometimes we just have to let someone else to help us. Thats a bum deal you've replaced it 2 times. You should have someone take a look at it. That way you have an idea whats going on. Most you'll spend to find out is whatever fee for looking at it. Then you'll know what to do from there. Hopefully you get that fixed as well. Thanks for watching 🙏. I'll have an update out soon.
I just replaced both mine, the driver side popped off real easy. The right one I ended having to pull it apart from the transmission. Had enough room to fit it in a vice, and it popped right off. There's a lot of rust build up holding it in.
I'm going to take it to a transmission shop and see if they have better luck than me. Hopefully they don't charge too much to remove it. Thanks for watching!!!
I'm using the shop on the weekend to do mine, and still am struggling to get it apart. I don't wanna get it hot and kill the bearing lol. What happened with yours?
Went out for a drive with my brother. He wanted to know what it felt like to give it the beans, and at the light, he went hard on it, and the CV Axle blew out on the passenger side. Which I learned is the worst side you can have that kind of failure because of the intermediate half shaft. Hopefully, you won't have an issue removing the axle. Thank you for watching!
@@PonysGarage no. I have the intermediate shaft in the vice and a large air hammer on the cup, I'm deforming the cup and it's not moving out of the shaft at all.
Didn't need too much force. I had my son hold down the brake and I used a breaker bar to get it loose. If it feels stuck on yours, I'd use some kind of lubricant. Let is soak and give it another try. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!!
Cobalt Front Intermediate Axle Stub Shaft IS A NIGHTMARE

That car always looks so clean. I am in Illinois. Cars that old rarely look that good.
Thank you 🙏

How much torque is needed to remove the axle nut
