Go back and watch MISA’s picking hand during her first solo segment.
She’s hybrid picking like a country guitarist with the pick hitting the lower strings and she plucks upwards with her ring finger.
Such a tiny detail amongst the entire performance? Plenty of love to go around. But that tiny move is one she’s developed as her career has matured. And of all the bassists I know and all the moves I know, she’s the first I’ve noticed that hybrid picks a bass regularly. She inspires 🤘🏽
Keen eye. Great observation. The closer you look and listen to this band the greater they get.
The Maids have the best guitar and bass duel in the music business.
I love and adore the maids, MISA and Kanami are _great_ musicians who inspire me to get better myself, but best? Koga and Tomo-zo of Gachric Spin might have something to say about that, not to mention Miyu and HAL-CA of Asterism and Taka and Syu of Galneryus.

Misa plays that bass like its lead guitar.
I grew up on rock from the 1970s to present. I love this band. I truly appreciate their song writing, musicianship, and singing. They have it all. Misa is my favorite current active bass player. Among the great bass players in rock, Misa deserves to be in the top tier in my opinion.
One other thing--I have seen them live four times and they are stunningly beautiful in person. Musically for me. that is not important. But, as a man, I must admit, they are gorgeous. They also love their fans, and love each other. No egos, which I respect. I hope for another ten years of Band Maid!
Band Maid is rock and roll. Period. No one can do what they do.
I've watched this about 1,000 times and I'm still not tired of it. Best rock band on the planet. Bass? Watch NO GOD live if you haven't.
Over a 3 hour show for a 10 year anniversary. I would definitely look into getting the show when it goes on sale at the end of the month.
I'm pretty sure you guys would love the song Don't You Tell ME from the same concert. Yet another bass/guitar dialog.

Great reaction! Spot on call that the singer is standing up above the drummer while the bass and lead guitar are at the front of the apron. Now, go watch that same concert's official live "Don't You Tell Me". Spoiler alert: Those 3 switch places.
The bass/guitar challenges are epic. Fun to see Kanami charge at MISA...considering that MISA is about 7" taller than Mincho.

So what was on the menu? As an aperitif the ladies served us 'Unleash!!!', the appetizers were 'Don't You Tell ME' and 'Hate?' and the whole concert is nothing short of a feast! 🍽🤭 The Maids are 5 exceptional chefs who know exactly how to serve something amazing. ❤🔥🤘🏻

I just got the DVD of this show and let me tell you, the stage, big screen, and light show were all next level. Top tier. It was a beautifully filmed concert as well and, of course, the maids absolutely killed it. 😁🥰

Corallium from the Eggman concert. It's not on their official channel but I believe it's posted here. Next to 'alone' it's got my favorite vocal harmonies. And the instrumentation is always brilliant as usual.

Guys I am 55, this is the best band I have ever seen.I still love my classics, but the songwriting... How does someone write songs in so many different styles and still have catchy choruses that have me bobbing my head to it. I have over 100 recommendations for you , but if you start with "Don't You Tell Me" from Yokohama , you won't hear me complain.

this is what they worked their a,s,s,es off for, 10 yrs to get here, big arena, from moving their own equipment and costumes in a borrowed van to 10,000ish people at Yokohama Arena, also Midori, Asami and Haruna from Lovebites were there

Usually Miku is the lyricist, but Saiki did write this one. She said she especially liked the way "I Hat You" felt in English. If you like the Guitar Bass Call & Response "Battle" check out 'Don't You Tell ME' LIVE. The orignal was pulled from UA-cam ahead of a DVD release and is now only on the Chinese site Bilibili, which can be a bit dodgy to pull a decent video from. But they brought it back for this same show, only instead of down front, it's up in the back behind the drums.
No 27 of a 33 song concert and they have just as much energy as the first.
Don't You Tell Me" from the same concert is ... well ... exactly what you have come to expect.
They never cease to amaze.

The "ten minutes of limp gymnastics" line gets to the guys every time. Girls hardly even notice but the guys all jump back, squeeze their legs together, and instinctively put a palm down to protect the crotch! Ahh ha ha! It cracks me up! With storm clouds on the screen behind her!
Best scene of the concert, though, was in "Onset" when MISA went around the walkway until she found her mom at the rail and played her solo in front of her. Her mom was going berserk behind her! It was awesome!
That there is what you call a S-Tier band, song and performance! Every facet of this band is platinum coated diamond dipped in gold. Easily the best band in the world. Rock on guys 🤘

I'm going to recommend a 2 song video, Manners, BLACK HOLE. During the Covid shutdowns Band-Maid streamed 5 concerts to their fans, 6 if we include the 12/25/21 acoustic concert. These 2 songs were from the 5/10/21 "Day of Maid" stream.
The reason there are 2 songs is that there was a government program during the lockdowns to subsidize videos but they had to be over 6 minutes long so they put 2 songs together in one video. There is another video like it, Dice, Different.
Manners is a very groovy type song. In BLACK HOLE Band-Maid threw a saddle on old Chaos and took him for a Sunday ride. I think you'll like them both.

There's rock music and there's rock entertainment and there's BAND-MAID And BAND-MAID, these Rock Goddesses are in a league of their own and all their years of slugging it out playing across the world gives us these amazing women who absolutely command the stage (eg those gorgeous rock stances and moves) but they look as comfortable as if they were having a cup of tea at home. One thing for sure there's someone out there who won't be putting their hand up anytime soon to say hey this song is about me 😂 What a fcken band Po 👍🍻

This concert was the final show of their 10th anniversary tour which was over 70 shows over multiple countries. This particular show was over 3 hours long and they played 33 songs. This song was number 28 in the set, and they were still playing like women possessed.

I think this group is currently the best rock group. The bass and lead guitar are the best, as you can tell right away. Please also notice the greatness of the drums. Please also notice the wonderful harmony between the main vocalist and side guitarist. What's most amazing is that the main guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the side guitarists have written most of the lyrics. There is no bad work among them. BAND-MAID has a wide variety of songs that you can really enjoy.
Imagine being that dude who pissed off Saiki that much for her to write this song.

Do you need to look further to realize you just heard the best band on the planet? Great Vocals, drumming and MISA-Kanami going back and forth like no other. I think the subject of this ‘hate’ was a husband of Saiki’s friend who cheated on her. She just put herself in her friend’s place and wrote what she would feel. YIKES!!! Don’t get on Saiki’s bad side. I LOVE Band Maid.

[EDIT 2024-03-19 [Great reaction guys and Saiki wrote the lyrics, there was a lot of cheating occurring during covid lock down in the press at this time and Saiki was pissed. The singer LISA (a friend of Akane) was also affected by this as her husband was caught cheating and created a big scandal.
Actually the idea of Lisa being the victim in the song was first suggested by another fellow reddit member DocLoco. This is literally what he wrote.
"It makes me think she may have been influenced by what happened to singer LiSA."
So it's just a fan speculation, Saiki has never confirmed this herself.
@@MikupigeonI think that's where I got that, but I thought I also read somewhere that Saiki knew Lisa, plus it was all over the gossip papers at time.
@@glenkelley6799 Lisa posted a tweet of herself running into the maids while they were promoting the album conqueror in a music store, all 5 maids were in the photo but Akane was the one hugging Lisa tightly. They certainly know each others but seems like Akane is the one who is the closest to Lisa. Saiki still hasn't follow Lisa in both her IG and X up till this day but Akane does.
Maybe Lisa is one of the cheating stories that inspired Saiki but I doubt the lyrics is based on her alone. Only the maids know the real answer.
The ironic thing is that Lisa did get married with the cheating husband at the end. 😅
