I love it when you break down the color story of palletes. When one or two shades catch our attention I think we tend to look at the whole color story with the same excitement without even realizing that it's the enchantment of those one or two shadows that's calling for us. It hypnotizes us into buying a whole beautiful pallete that we're gonna end up not using at all.

Completely agree! Hannah helped me realise that it was mostly mauvy or burgundy shades that were consistently calling to me in each palette. Once I realised that, I can isolate what's really attracting me to a palette and turn my attention to the plethora of mauvy and burgundy shades I already have!

Duping the vibes works wonders for palettes because we usually have a fat stash of our favorite colours (and - more often than not - that's exactly what attracts us to a new release).

I have this palette and usually don't buy ND palettes, but I will say that all of the "pale" looking mattes in the palette are definitely not pale when put on the eyes. I'm not sure how it happens but they all come off as wayy deeper and more saturated and can be built up quite intensely (with the exception of Unity). So they look pale but they are really way more mid-toned and deep than you'd think at first glance. Personally I love that they are.

This is one of the first palette that had me really considering buying a ND (from her more affordable line). For me it looks like one of her better pallets in terms of variety and especially depth. A lot of her palettes are in a mid-tone range where I'd constantly need a different palette to deepen it up for my skin tone. But, here it is, I couldn't figure out what about this palette speaks to me until I scrolled on IG and found a post with it next to a Pat Mcgrath palette (can't remember which one) - and it was the same exact vibe. My Dream is like the more affordable and a little muted, dirty version of the PM palette...and that's why I like it. And now it's like my desire to have it immediately is gone. I still like it, but I don't need to have it.

I love this color story. I still haven't duped the vibes yet, but this almost brown eggplant purple is one of my favorite colors and I have it so many times in my collection. I just realized the multi-chrome in the Lethal Berlin 89 palette is kind of a weak sauce version of Kiln (one of those Clionadh shadows that's been on my wishlist for ages, and every time I buy from them, it is sold out.). I do want that ESUM purple liner though. I'd love to see a review of those, btw. As usual this video was super inspirational for me. Your style of doing eyeshadow, darkest to lightest is slowly eclipsing the classic Jaclyn Hill, gradient of matte rainbows in the crease that I used to always do. I think today's eyeshadows are more dynamic and interesting and can stand on their own more than in the old days, where you really had to layer to get impact.

Thank you for doing this series. It helps me to break down why I may want to buy a palette, or any makeup, for that matter. I now ask myself, "Why do I want this?", and "Do I already have this?" This ND palette I can dupe 20 times in my collection and it is a big "pass" for me. Not saying that I don't think it is a lovely palette, it's just something I already have. ON that thought.. have you considered the new Danessa Myricks palette? I rarely buy new palettes these days and was going to pass on this one, especially when I saw the price tag. That was until I saw her promo video and the demonstration of the aqua chromes. These intrigued me and I gave in to temptation. I have to tell you that I regret nothing. I have nothing else like this palette. The painter in me absolutely loves the aqua chromes. There is a learning curve to using them, but I suppose that is part of the fun. I love when makeup challenges and surprises me. I found that if I used a wax base, they applied amazingly and its literally like painting with a dancing, sparkling paint. I hope she comes out with other colors because I will buy them all! The rest of the palette is stunning, as well. The multi/dual chromes rival some of the best indy brands I have in my arsenal. I even like the chrome flakes. Again, I used these on a wax base and they are friggin good! The price is not in everyone's budget, but if you have the budget, I highly recommend.

Honestly the look you came up with is much more impactful than what you would get with the actual palette. Those PML & Clionadh shadows are just better IMO and I own this palette! I like ND's mattes & cream-to-powders but the shimmers and metallics is where she loses me.

I also had little to no interest in this pallet, the colors are pretty but so similar to ones already in my collection and not ones I usually gravitate towards. I played along tho, and duped the vibes right along with you. I found that PMGL Divine Rose II basically hit it all right down to the magenta~green multi-chrome (aside from the black and deep plum colors)! Luckily, blackest blacks I have aplenty and Oden’s Eye Hela and UD’s Stoned Vibes had my back with Soot and Third Eye for those deep plums so I basically already have My Dream! Thank you for the inspo because the look I got was not my usual but is intensely gorgeous!!

If you take a mirror and hold it beside the multichrome swatch, it translates better on-camera. It allows the camera to pick up the shift. You probably already know this🤘🏽.
A seemingly-decently good dupe for that My Dream multichrome could also be "Breakthrough" from Lethal Cosmetics' Berlin'89 pallette. I love that pallette SO MUCH!!
B89 also has a far more intriguing lighter-mid-tone concrete grey (Prefab) that could be mixed with the mid-tone neutral brown (THF) to create something similar, yet deeper, to the taupe in the MD pallette. Like ND:MD, Berlin'89 has a pigmented, deep, matte black (East and West). It's also got a great, shimmery, shifty silver (Transit), a not-super-orangey shimmery gold (Reunion), and this wicked-grungy matte Dijon yellow (Republic).
While I'm taking about that pallette, there are some great bright mattes in it, but almost all of them have this slightly dirty, muted quality to them. It's like, a nod to the rainbow pallettes that were saturating the market, but with a more heavy, sombre mood to them. The Anti-Lisa Frank rainbow shades. Even the brighter, less-sooty of the colourful mattes can be excellently corrupted by using Prefab, THF, or East and West. The aforementioned colourful mattes come in mid-deep blue(Zone), red (Bloc), a slightly dirty brick roarnge (Sputnik), and orange(Berlin, which is a brighter, more true orange). There is a more bright, magenta-leaning, matte purple(Checkpoint) in there, but it's the same shade found in one of the shifts in Breakthrough, so it works. I think that's the thinking behind the brighter of the two colourful mattes, Bloc, Berlin, and Checkpoint: to highlight different points of the flips in Breakthrough.
Actually, Lethal pretty much seemingly added a matte for each colour represented in the multi, besides the chartreuse, but you could probably mix some shades and get something close, or use a different shade from another pallette...so that's rad.
The brighter shades, most of B89, actually, are obviously very different from ND:MD. I feel it's all totally worth mentioning, though! Plus I got on a roll, and had to break down the ENTIRE PALLETTE once I began writing about it.
I don't think you can get the shades from that pallette as singles from Lethal (yet?) but it's a rad pallette for sure! BTW, I don't work for, or with, LC. I'm just a fan.
The only ND pallettes I own are a few of the little 5 pan ones, all purchased from Boxycharm's shopping area, or in monthly boxes. I know. I was an idiot, and got sucked into the garbage beauty box thing during Lockdown. It brought me more rage than joy, but my collection is fairly respectable, now. I digress, again.
Thinking I'd resell them, I haven't even swatched any of the mini ND pallettes, except for one that I just recently popped the cherry on. It has Aubergine, gold, and a foiled taupe in it. Can't remember the name offhand. It's probably one of those 5 pans specifically made for Boxycharm, like Jubilee, or that warm neutral brown one. Both are virginal, same with the "Cranberry" and "Anaya"(?) ones I have. Someday I might break down and get a full pallette, but it would really need to speak to me.
I'm finding that if I buy brand new shadow pallettes, I have a harder time using something right away, than if I get a gently used/sanitized one from Poshmark. Then, I'm like, "Welp, can't sell or gift THIS, might as well actually use it!"
It's a mix of anxiety, rampant consumerism, hoarding behaviour, the possibility of selling something, the old "I don't want to use it before I'm "ready" because I have so much on the go rn, that it'll probably expire!", and "what if I want to give this as a Christmas/birthday gift? Better not touch it until I decide!" It's weird. I'm now far more thoughtful about my beauty purchases. More indie/high-end/single shades, less fast fashion beauty FOMO.
    Okay: enough blathering! Jeez!

Even that orangey gold is my style on the right day.. but I am still not planning on buying it. I rather am using another of your “teachings” and relying on the fact that since it is my colors, I already have them in droves. And I’m pulling in something also to my opinion on the matter that you mentioned in a recent trend video. I like that this pallet is such a hit, “trendy” even. Because that means that I look on trend by just doing what I do anyway. And I find that fun. It’s like a cool little secret with myself.

The palette actually kind of reminds me of Lust for Dusk by Colourpop. I have no desire for Natasha's Dreams... but I do quite enjoy Lust for Dusk. Natasha's palette is much darker, byt Lust for Dusk combines the coral and purple tones and combines cool and warm tones which js just so fun to me.

Palettes like this are the main reason I consume a lot of beauty content but don't actually own a lot of eyeshadows haha. There are a lot of colours I like in that palette, but there are definitely only one or two that would suit my looks and style, and I feel like I'm being wasteful if I buy a palette that only has a few colours I like. As that seems to be the case with a lot of palettes, I almost never buy eyeshadow palettes!

I loved this video ….and I agree with your opinion of the palette. I also loved the dupe look that you created and it totally showed me that I can create something just like that with everything that I already own. In fact, I probably can dupe most looks and don’t need to buy ANY more palettes for a very long time! Lol Thank you for your insight and inspiration.

I did get the dream palette, and I have been absolutely loving it! The other day, I looked in the mirror and was like, I know I’ve done this look before. I pulled out a palette of single eyeshadows I did with colourpop singles that I had assembled a few years ago. Oh my gosh, I could dupe most of the palette! And the ones that weren’t exact dupes were very close, definitely the vibes. I’m couldn’t believe it. No wonder I was loving the dream palette, it basically was a Natasha version of my dream palette that I used to use all the time! Lol. Of course I did t have the shade Vision, but everything else was so so close.

I love all the dupe the vibes videos. I would’ve only liked babies and the duochrome 🤷🏻‍♀️ . These videos helps me realize why I want/like a palette and helps me break down what vibe I’m trying to go for.
On another note, I’m sick n tired, been sick n tired tbh, of all these palettes with a couple of good colors I actually want. I wish these brands would just sell cool singles again 😢 sighhh

I feel that Blackest Black, Aspiration and Vision would be my picks too, you could make a perfect quad with the addition of a nice shimmery highlight shade in there for a decent travel palette- I do lean more goth so I guess my colour choices are a bit more dramatic than most-!
As a fellow fan of black shadows, I'd be keen to hear your favourite!

I actually do like this color story. I find that berry tones do really well for colorful looks and neutral looks. I was already sort of duping its vibes with the shadows I pulled to dupe the vibes of moonlit seduction lol. It's hard because as a makeup lover I really want to try Natasha Denona someday but I know it's expensive. At the same time, my wedding is next year so I find myself wanting to buy "special" makeup for my "special" day, even though I have perfectly reasonable dupes! Chances are by the time my wedding rolls around I will have forgotten about this palette haha

I have a lot of ND’s palettes and I’m happy to have them, but in some cases like I’m watching your vids, I realize I can dupe some palettes and if not I wouldn’t get any use out of them like Circo loco or Metropolis or this one. I love your videos to think deeper and really look at what the palettes are before you think you need to get them, which I think people doesn’t realize that they are collecting rather than using.

I don’t have the Star palette, but I think several of the mattes in that palette are similar to the mattes in My Dream. I have My Dream and Mini Star, and I think I could dupe the vibes of the full-sized Star palette with those two, if not actually dupe some shades exactly.

I bought a Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palette before they closed them out bc my curiosity got to me with the available price. So happens, that palette lets me dupe vibes of most fall palettes and definitely with my blushes gives me all the autumn vibes I crave. So I’m excited to NOT see anything new in my makeup collection. 🎉😁😄

I honestly love the palette because I adore mauve, rosy, brown, grey shades. I understand to a lot of people they are over done, but to me, personally, I can never get tired of them, especially against pewter like shades, I just adore it. I’m personally not buying this because NA is personally out of my budget and I have an abundance of grey shades, rosy shades, mauve shades, especially in my Huda Beauty Rose Quartz palette, I treated myself to in the beginning of this year. I’m not one who likes to have a huge collection of makeup, so personally, I’m actually pretty content. The only thing and reason why this palette isn’t my personal dream palette is it has a lot of deep plums and I rarely use that shade and when I do, it’s always as eyeliner. Adore the video, please don’t ever stop making these

You could also put an green shimmer in the outer corner of the lid, and an purple shimmer in the inner corner. That way you get the duochrome effect without buying the palette!

Thank's for inspired me to dupe the vibe of thing I like before buying something new! I love makeup and I was buying too much stuffs. So now, I buy things that I'm sure I will use. For my birthday, I decide to buy some clionadh shadows instead of the new Natasha Denona palette. And I will not buy the new Danessa Myricks palette because it's a bit brigth for my esthetic of make up. It's beautifull but it will stay on my desk! Take good care of you.🥰

Unity in real life is _very_ apricot in color. Actually all of the matte pinks are more dark and orange leaning than any photographic evidence would suggest.

The "purple" metallics are not metallics at all. Those are cream-to-powder formulas, so they come off like a matte and translate a touch lighter/brighter on the eyes

You articulated exactly why this palette did not appeal to me. I'm gravitated towards certain shades, but I already have them and I would create relatively simple looks with them. I collect ND palettes so I will probably eventually get them at a deep discount, but I'm in no rush to get it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Totally agree with you Hannah. This ND My dream palette is redundant. The shades are highly dupable and I already one of the repeat shades in the big Star palette and a great black in her Biba palette.I have a lot of plums in my ABH palettes. The shimmers look very dupable as with all the other colours so I don’t feel I need this palette whereas the newest ABH pallet I feel is more original and would rather go for that.

Your videos make me want to play with my make up collection rather than buying more 💪🏻
I came to the same conclusion. I would only be drawn to use half the pallet. In my case, the darker shades barely get used as I have hooded eyes and a lighter skin tone. (Also Olive! - I’m mixed race and finding base colours to match is hard 🙄 ) I tend to smoke the lower lash line so use very little product. I’m also a fan of a lot of shimmer as use up little matt shadow.
Between the other ND pallets I own, and my singles collection, I already have these colours. I’ve made myself a little Autumn pallet and it’s sparked my creativity 🥰 I’ve been using for a few days and loving it.

Luckily, if you absolutely _need_ blackest black, you can buy it as a single in a huge pan and I completely adore it. I'm ashamed to admit I have two, since I actually bought a backup when I thought it had been discontinued since it wasn't available anywhere for like almost a year. I honestly don't really use any other black in my collection, even though I have multiple across my collection in multiple palettes. It's so much more cumbersome to pull out a whole palette just for one shade, than a small single compact. If i need a black for any shape or form, I just reach for it and use it instead. It's super easy to have on standby in a drawer or constantly out on your vanity and have that as the designated black for everything. I had never realized how much I'd utilize a black being in it's separate component, until I purchased it, because you can pair it with literally anything when you feel you need it.
Editing to say I don't have the palette and have no interest in it.

I planned to buy this eventually but then I saw the sunset palette is on sale for $64. I've always wanted it. I typically use money and giftcards from my Birthday, Mothers Day, Christmas etc to buy all of my makeup.
