    I went with LS1200 because I am officially done with bulb projectors. I've changed 5 bulbs on 2 different projectors in the last 7ish years and I'm just done with it. But of course, JVC only releases a laser that costs $12,000 with taxes. I think it's smarter to spread that 12k over 4-5 years. Buy the Epson now and buy another $5K projector in 4-5 years when 8K is better supported, HDR has evolved, and Variable Refresh Rate is supported. At least that's what I plan to do.

    I’ve had projectors for the last 20 years and black level has so far been most important when deciding what to buy. But since getting perfect black levels with OLED and the visual impact of HDR, black level is not the deciding factor anymore for projectors. I’ll probably get the LS12000.

    I’d love to see these comparisons!
    12000 vs 5000e vs nz7 , though the nz7 quite a jump, does it make it worth it?
    Next year I’m God willing doing a theater room so, I have time to figure out the best of those 3 for me.
    I know I’d want to use for ps5 gaming & normal SDR 16:9 tv watching.
    Due to the gaming part, it’s funny how the Sony projector the worst for the ps5 since no hdmi 2.1

    Black levels, true 4k, and dynamic tonemapping make the decision easy for me. Anyone serious about their home theater will have a PJ in a dedicated light controlled room, so the additional lumens from the Espon are a non-factor.

    • @scotttild
      @scotttild 9 місяців тому

      The JVC uses a native 4k chip, the LS 1200 uses pixel shifting to get to 4k. Which means it is not native. You can tell the difference with the black levels quite a bit and that's the main difference. With that said, the LS12000 is a very good projector from my research.

  • @charless9279
    @charless9279 Рік тому +2

    I thought the Epson was overall better, until it was revealed I assumed the RHS was the JVC

  • @John-ok8ts
    @John-ok8ts 2 роки тому +2

    Black levels are much better for JVC but the difference in sharpness between the two is also quite high. The LS12000 ironically looks like it's the one that is native 4K.

  • @tiberiuskirk2052
    @tiberiuskirk2052 Рік тому

    Interestingly the Epson had better intrascene contrast when there was a mix of bright and low objects on the screen. It'd be interesting to see the Epson paired with a HDFury Vertex2 to make use of LLDV and DTM, and see if the two projectors are then more evenly matched.

    I was there and it was great event put on by Youthman and Ryan Carpentier from Ascend Audio. Lots of effort went into putting this on. I don't remember Dream Media actually sponsoring or providing equipment. Not hating but please be transparent on who actually put on the event.

    • @Dreamediaav

      I’m not sure where the disconnect is but we did say multiple times that we were at the MWAVE event and not hosting the event. We always go to events hosted by others including CEDIA, CES, AXPONA, TOLA, ect. and create content to build up the event and promote Dreamedia and the products we sell. We were invited by Ryan and Youthman to the event so we showed up and made content just like we always do. We even pinned a comment in the videos thanking them for the invite and put their links in the description of the video. Thanks for watching!

    What about the new Awol vs the Epson ls12000

  • @SuperBloodyskull
    @SuperBloodyskull Рік тому +1

    Having had an Epson 6050 previously and now a JVC NX5 to difference in blacks far outweigh whatever benefit you might get from the extra brightness with the LS12000 since it's blacks are only on par with the 6050. On top of that the HDR handling of the NX5 is only bettered by the likes of MadVR or a Lumagen so another reason to stick with JVC, there's a lot of bulbs in another $6K which is the difference to the NZ7 so I think I will keep the current projector.
    As for the benefits of OLED, I just couldn't live with the size of current OLEDs and to get the kind of size I am looking would require selling body parts I am still rather fond of. LOL

    Very subjective and adds little or nothing to the debate. Take a lesson from TVSpro for real objective analysis when comparing projectors, which leads me to point out other technologies should have been included here with surprising results. Wish I had been able to respond much sooner but people coming into this now should be aware that this is not worth the effort to watch. (been involved in front projection for 24 years now).
