I was absolutely love these SUFI related videos, because it's helping me to uncover their way of thinking. my maternal great grandfather was a great sufi priest in bangladesh and the people of his village thought he had magical powers. as for my father side, when his father passed away, a sufi family took care of him and his big family, so he was surrounded by sufis his whole life. so i think this is why i'm naturally inclined to topics of spirituality and religion. what i'm learning on this channel is the universality of mystical thinking. it seems that these men were very progressive with their ideas. it transcends time that even to this day, their thoughts are relatable. i just don't know if i'll ever be able to reach the spiritual fortitude and displicine to ever become a practicing sufi myself, but what i'm learning from these videos are helping me apply some of their ideas into my life in a gradual manner. This is the type of content i've been looking for because it's not coming from a biased view. it's strictly academic so that i can formulate my own opinions in an objective way. so i thank you - please keep them coming.

I'm also impressed by your pronunciation of Arabic sounds, which I know doesn't come easily to Westerners. If I may just make one correction it would be to how you pronounce the name "Ishak". This is actually the Arabic version of the name Isaac (son of Abraham) and is pronounced Iss-h'aaq with an S sound, not SH. Wishing you great success and looking forward to your next videos.

Hi, Thanks for another great video. This is very useful for showing how diverse Islam is, and how the so-called "orthodoxy" is an illusion. Anyway, I think "Hermeticism" and the figure of Hermes Trismegistus are not fully explained in this video. I have heard about how Hermes and Hermeticism are influential during the medieval Islamic thought, as well as the European/Christian philosophical tradition. Hopes you can explain it more in the future.
Yes, I do only mention Hermeticism as if I assume the audience knows what that means, which might have been a bit naive of me. But I'll surely be talking about it more in future videos :)
Let's Talk Religion yes please do make a video discussing it because I'm not sure whether or not the word means the same a hermet who is like a wandering monk, but I have the seen the graham handcock reading of the book of the dead which speaks of this Thoth like Hermes being all psychodellic and stuff. Yeahhh idk much else about it tho so if you could explain more about it that would be nice my gnostic friend ;)
@@LetsTalkReligion Yes, please. I have been waiting for someone to touch upon this subject. I don't think Hermeticism is often talked about especially its influence on religions. And especially less so with regards to Islam. Often, I tend to read about Greek / neoplatonic influence on Islamic philosophy but I thing Hermeticism has some interesting parallels with Islam, at least from what little I read about the former. More often I think, Hermeticism is often identified with occult subjects than religion. But then again, wouldn't mysticism be considered as a kind of occult knowledge? Anyway, really eager for you to get to this . Really have been enjoying your work.

Let's Talk Religion Only through a deep spiritual experience can the Pure Reality (Allah for me) and the realities of higher realms of existence be unlocked. Hey let's talk religion, have u ever heard of the Berber berghouata kingdom and salih ibn tarif? He proclaimed himself a prophet and I was wondering, seeing as it's up your alley of interest, that you could make a video about this? The Berber people also did something interesting as well, they began to recite the shahadda in their Berber language as well as a whole slew of un orthodox "muslim" things and I was wondering if you've heard of this before?
Let's Talk Religion yeah it's heavily intertwined into Berber nationalism in the Maghreb, which is still a problem today because of discrimination. Their women don't wear the hijab because traditional berberism give a lot of rights to women, like being the one who decides to divorce and even being warriors! But yeah, this guy, ibn tarif is epitome of how nationalistic the Berber folk are and how that nationalism still affects their Islam today.
Could you please make a video on punishments in sharia and why countries introduce them like Malaysia or Brunei (flogging or death penalty for homosexuality). I've read that some punishments are specified in the Quran and some in the hadith. I can't really wrap my head around how jurists come to their conclusions. I know there is a diversity of thought quranists, salafists. I wonder how people can interpret flogging and amputation in the Quran....
The Sicilian Questions is not easy to find online! What the heck! If anyone has access to it I would appreciate it greatly if they were to grant me the same
I have watched this video couple of times and ibn Arabi few times as well but what is difference between the two in laymen term?. Isn't it similar to panthesim
It has aspects that can remind us of pantheism, but it is also more complicated than that. In very simple terms - they both agree that God is the only Reality, the only "thing" that really exists. They disagree in the sense that Ibn Arabi still thinks the multiplicity of the world is RELATIVELY real and separated from God. Ibn Sab'in, however, sees the world and multiplicity as pure illusion and that God's Essence is immediately "knowable" everywhere. It's hard to explain such complex metaphysics in easily understandable terms, but that's my best attempt :)
I appreciate the video and thank you for uploading. My question is the following: Has there ever been a rusul who has stated that God/Allah is Different in Life so not to be alone? In other words; has there ever been a rusul who has stated that God/Allah is Different in Life for Love?
Thanks for the video. But I didn't quite understand, what is Ibn Sabin's position of the Divine Names in being. Is there any reference you can point to expressing this. Would be great. Thanks.
Basically, he believed that ALL multiplicity must essentially be "passed over" or transcended to know God or Reality. This includes transcending and moving beyond the multiplicity of the Divine Names and only resting in the Oneness of the name "al-Haqq" (The Real). If you check the Sources in the description to the video, I would recommend the article from the "Sufi Journal", it talks about some of these ideas in particular and compares it to the school of Ibn Arabi.
You can also say what you said about Ibn Taimiyyah to Iraneaus and other church fathers. Most of the people they accuse are very interesting to study and learn about.
I've been trying to find the answer to this question all day, but I've reached the conclusion that I might have been mistaken in the video. I was absolutely sure there was an English translation when I wrote the script, but I think what I meant to say was that it is the only text that has been translated into European languages. It seems to be available in Spanish and Italian, but not English. Sorry for the confusion.
Let’s appreciate Ibn sabin's teachings and wonder how it can help us in our lives. ibn Sabiin's main teaching is that " there is nothing but god " that means you who are reading this comment your body is an illusion and your truth is God you are God. And here maybe you will understand why Ibn Taimia attacked Ibn sabiin very heavily. It takes work and open-mindedness and also surrendering until you break through the illusion and realize your true being and singularity, and then you will realize that you and me and the phone you are holding and Philip and your mother and the moon everything, are one thing. that is YOU, GOD.
Do you think the Andalucian Sufis like ibn Arabi, and Ibn Sabain, disprove the narrative or assumption that Sufism is foreign to Islam or just came from Persia? Or the tired dichotomy that Persians are mystical and Arabs are exoteric?
Could you do a video on Al Biruni, on all his works including his philosophy ,mathematics, and his work on India? I’ve heard that he is sometimes called the father of comparative religion as ibn khaldun is the father of sociology. Since I think that’s your field, I think it would be pretty fitting to do Al Biruni
The kind of muslim you become all depends on the personality you have , people tend to adapt the belief or image of God to their own personal preferences, thats why all religions are divided.
As long as redical view do not contradict Islamic theology I ready to debate on this. Islamic theology include fundamental believe of Islam which mansion in Quran and Hadiths. Like oneness of God. Mohammed as last prophet of God. Start and end of world and time. Life after death. Day of judgment.
I love your rule! Ibn taymiyyah himslef is the most dangerous, hes the reason for the fundamelists today like wahabi/ salafis! Extremist sunni Muslims and the wahabization of twelver shia islam has been the worst thingbthat has ever happened to Islam and ibn taymiyyah is largely responsible for this failure and digression. They use the same Islam that opened the hearts and minds of the Arabs of Jahiliyyah to go right back to jahiliyyah!
Hassan Sabah was serving for his master who had divine authority manifested by Allah through the last Prophet PBUH. He was following the right path while the Sunni and Christian historians have painted a very novel picture of him which was not true. He was not radical ...
I don't see Absolute Unity as pantheistic. If, according to Ibn Sab'in, we're all part of God, then that suggests that there is no one else to worship but God. I'm a curious Muslim with a huge amount of agnosticism in me, though these videos from you Filip are intriguing to watch.
I think Ibn Arabi and Sab’in both are right and their views stand still. It is like 1 is a number and 2 is also a number. My opinion about negating everything will end up not praising god’s attribute/reflection? Absolute unity might contribute people to not integrate well in society? As they themselves deny everything. Instead we should identify god by seeing his attribute and reflection.
Quran says: “Allah:there is no deity worthy of worship except he”:The Neccessary life/consciousness,sustainer of life/consciousness.” Wire like neuronal structures that conduct electricity via ions/neurotransmitters in the CNS/PNS possess no attribute of thinking/life and yet that has “randomly” led to life. Consciousness/thinking is an innate idea(“Fitra”)that is distinct from carbon skeleton and yet the materialist scientist believes that chemistry turned into biology via “god of randomness”/”Emergent property”/”law of nature”. Consciousness can only stem from Necessary Consciousness (Allah-one/indivisible/All-loving/self-sufficient infinite perfection).

Only he who keeps silent is saved!!!
There is quote from Punjabi Sufi lore...
خاصاں دی گل عاماں اگے کرنا

کھیر پکا کتیاں اگے رکھنا!!!
(Presenting a jewel of highest wisdom to the mundane minds is just like to serve a well cooked pudding before the dogs)
another good video on Sufism. Muslim Sufism is based on spiritual refinement through heart or qulb meditation that is different from other religions.
Its all stolen from jew n christian Sufism . Islam is a lie only exist on fake books written by masonic elites .

Ibn e Temya single handedly polarized Islamic thought.
Thank you for this superb video
تلخيص ممتاز واطلاع جيد وفقك الله
Can you please make a video on Ibn Taymiyah and his core beliefs quoting his books.
I'll probably get there eventually!
Omg Never Never Never Do That They are Al Whabiya ابو عباية اسود سودة 😱😱😱
لالا لالا لا لا تفعل الوهابية وحوش ظلام في ظلام هو راس😝😱 البلية اليوم في العالم😱😱😱
Where is the quote you provide at 15:40 from?
Thank you for these videos. They are wonderfully made and of more worth than numbers indicate.
It is from The Sicilian Questions!
Beautiful, thank you !
This has so many parallels to Advaita! From the unity, to the incompetence of language!
No I actually know very little about this. Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like a very interesting subject for a future video
Good subject to discuss in the future!
Why can’t you wrap your head around it? these are all from the Sunnah and the opinions of earlier Jurists.
What is the English translation of his Scicilian Question called and where can it be found?
The Sicilian Questions is not easy to find online! What the heck! If anyone has access to it I would appreciate it greatly if they were to grant me the same
I love Ibn Sab'in!
That's it, I've found my religion
@@LetsTalkReligion thank you
I appreciate the video and thank you for uploading.
My question is the following:
Has there ever been a rusul who has stated that God/Allah is Different in Life so not to be alone?
In other words; has there ever been a rusul who has stated that God/Allah is Different in Life for Love?
Great fan of ibn Arabi and Rumi.
@@LetsTalkReligion thanks so much
Thank you 🙏🏼
You should also investigate Mehdaviath. It’s in India and surrounding areas. Plz ping me for more details
(listening to you) and I can't hate anything/anybody... 😊😊😊
i requested u sir next lecture will be taking about bu Alisina
You can also say what you said about Ibn Taimiyyah to Iraneaus and other church fathers. Most of the people they accuse are very interesting to study and learn about.
You earned a like and a subscribe :)
Thank you so much for these videos. I am wondering his ideas are similar to advaitha vedantha
Where is the English translation of the Sicilian Questions?
I've been trying to find the answer to this question all day, but I've reached the conclusion that I might have been mistaken in the video. I was absolutely sure there was an English translation when I wrote the script, but I think what I meant to say was that it is the only text that has been translated into European languages. It seems to be available in Spanish and Italian, but not English. Sorry for the confusion.
@Inspiring Philosophy interested in your take on this video
Please do hermeticism
Where can i find translation of Ibn Sab'in works?
How does Ibn Sab'in explain the origin of the illusion of multiplicity/separateness if God alone exists?
It takes place in God’s knowledge.
Jazakallahu..
Let’s appreciate Ibn sabin's teachings and wonder how it can help us in our lives.
ibn Sabiin's main teaching is that " there is nothing but god "
that means you who are reading this comment your body is an illusion and your truth is God you are God.
Thanks!
Magnificent!
Do you think the Andalucian Sufis like ibn Arabi, and Ibn Sabain, disprove the narrative or assumption that Sufism is foreign to Islam or just came from Persia? Or the tired dichotomy that Persians are mystical and Arabs are exoteric?
I think they could certainly be used for that argument.
Sure! :)
@@LetsTalkReligion will like a work on Al Biruni, since I am from India.
He is considered as the first Indologist.
bro what sound did you use ?
The absolute unity of God.
Even the hinduism knows this concept without to be the party of God.
The kind of muslim you become all depends on the personality you have , people tend to adapt the belief or image of God to their own personal preferences, thats why all religions are divided.
Amazing i love it
Where is the seyyed hossain nasr citation from, at 6:54.
Good video.
Great sir
I love your rule! Ibn taymiyyah himslef is the most dangerous, hes the reason for the fundamelists today like wahabi/ salafis! Extremist sunni Muslims and the wahabization of twelver shia islam has been the worst thingbthat has ever happened to Islam and ibn taymiyyah is largely responsible for this failure and digression. They use the same Islam that opened the hearts and minds of the Arabs of Jahiliyyah to go right back to jahiliyyah!
😂 Stupid , sahabas were salaf
Another Good Build.
Music louder and more distracting than it usually is in the Muslim-orientated videos.
Hassan Sabah was serving for his master who had divine authority manifested by Allah through the last Prophet PBUH. He was following the right path while the Sunni and Christian historians have painted a very novel picture of him which was not true. He was not radical ...
Where can I get the Sicilian questions
God has the answer , he said he is unique and nothing like him ..both ibn Arabi and sabiin trying to describe something that impossible
