Anything or anyone that implies that you must look outside of yourself to touch the divine is misleading and divisive and seeks to fool and befudle , and lead us away from the one and the oneness that compromises all , thanks for this treat!
Yes and no. Shaykh Al Akbar (RAA), never advised his followers to abandon the outward path of Islam as means to realising the Truth that he expounded. Quite the opposite, he insisted that they adhere to the Path of Islam. To understand what he is saying intellectually means little - the nafs (or ego to varying degrees) will easily co-opt this understanding and make it a vehicle for travel in the opposite "direction" than that of actual realisation- if the journeying is undertaken outside of the Path. This is not to say the formulaic is exclusive, a seeker can submit themselves to any Traditional Path, but it is to say without the submission to a Path, the journey will yield little fruits. ❤
All gratitude to Allah who is Most Gracious and Most Merciful that I have come to know this resouce and sense the resonance of its Truths. Truly Allah is the Best Planner and Most Compassionate Sustainer of All That Is. Alhamduilah.
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?" (Surah Fussilat 41:53)
Great presentation!!! Just one point of caution is that many things have been attributed to him might not be accurate. He was a great saint, lover of God and he didn't deviate from orthodoxy. Is this coming from experience or just intellectual exercise?
Thank you - I am glad it resonated with you. No need for caution here friend. You are listening to excerpts from Ibn Arabi's "Know Yourself. An Explanation Of The Oneness Of Being"
@spiritualreliefchannel Actually dear brother/sister and fellow Saalik, it's not by Ibn al Arabi (AS), it's by Balyani (AS). (Awhad al-din Balyani). 🙏
@@ishqnoor "This is a new translation of the first complete work attributed to Ibn ‘Arabi to appear in a western language. The earlier translation has been instrumental in making Ibn ‘Arabi’s name known again in the West over the last century, even though the author of the book is now considered by many scholars to be Balyani, a near contemporary, who may well have been influenced by his thought." The translation has been made using several Arabic manuscripts from libraries in the UK, Turkey and Syria. The sheer quantity of manuscripts available shows how popular this book has remained for more than seven centuries and how many times it has been copied and recopied by hand. It should be borne in mind, however, that each time a manuscript is copied a few mistakes, alterations and added notes by the copyist may creep in. So although the text remains basically the same, there are often many minor variations on the general theme. In particular, there are also variations on the title and the author to whom the work is attributed. The most popular title for the book is the Treatise on Unity (Risalat al-ahadiyya), which is similar to the title of a work which is definitely by Ibn ‘Arabi, The Book of Unity (Kitab al-ahadiyya) or The Book of Alif.: Other titles include: Treatise on Being, The Book of Alif, The Book of Answers, The Book of the Self or He (huwa), Treatise of Absolute Oneness, On the Secrets of Unity (tawhid), On the Oneness of Being and the Knower of God. Many of the manuscripts have as the title or as a sub-title: On the meaning of the saying of the Prophet Muhammad, peace on him, ‘Whoever knows their self knows their Lord"
@@ishqnoor "Know Yourself An explanation of the oneness of being From Arabic manuscripts attributed to Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi and also to Awhad al-din Balyani" - I will add the Balyani in the description - thank you for that
@spiritualreliefchannel Yes, I believe it's fairly well accepted that it's by Balyani (AS) now. When you consider how Ibn Al Arabi (RA) writes and teaches, he follows a methodology that is very much akin to The Quran, in that it is rarely linear. He will take you to a place, then flip it on you and take you to either its opposite or another seemingly unrelated place, and there is immense wisdom in doing so for the Saalik. Whereas the writing of Balyani (AS) although addressing the same topic and with essentially the same conclusion - is linear and doesn't employ that methodology. It is in many ways reminiscent of The Upanishads in style - which makes sense. This is actually one of my favourite works - it is indeed a spiritual relief 🙏
Excellent 👍. These teachings also support the philosophy of #panpsychism, and also agree with the recent scientific works of Prof. Dr. Donald Hoffman -- all of which supports the view that there is one fundamental consciousness, from which we all emerge and return to... 🙏
Ibn arabi is not talking about conciousness though, it goes a lot deeper than theoretical concepts like conciousness along what is implied by this term.
If one knows the concepts in atomic physics, quantum physics, or quantum mechanics, I think one might understand the ideas presented in this video from Ibn Arabi.
His teachings is the Truth. This is the message that Prophet Muhammad received frm GOD. 13yrs Prophet Muhd taught this to his followers only then the Solat (prayer) he rcvd from God to be practised.
Our channel explores the universal wisdom found in Sufi teachings that speak to all hearts, beyond any single tradition. These videos are about the essence of what masters like Ibn Arabi discovered - truths that resonate with all sincere seekers, regardless of their path. 🙏
I was born a muslim and my tongue was taught to say, "la ila-ha il-Allah", meaning, 'no god but the God". I accepted Sufism and my heart was taught to know that 'la ila-ha il-Allah', meaning, 'no god but the God'. Before I was God and God was something else. Afterwards, there was only God and I became something else.
Ibn arabi, despite his universal tone, wasn’t a perennialist. He considered Islam the most complete and final expression of the ultimate truth. He believed in all the previous revelations as the Quran ascribes him to do so, and understood that Quran is the final perfected testament of god that encompasses all previous revelations and provides clearance guidance to experience gods unity. In this sense, though his work, one can see he is a living version of the Quran itself. If you take on perennialist perspective of ibn arabi, then your view is mistaken. You can beleive that, but it’s not based on reality.
Thank you for your perspective. While respecting your understanding of the Islamic context, our channel focuses on the direct experiential aspects that Ibn Arabi points to - "Those who taste, know." As he himself said, "My heart has become capable of every form... a temple for idols, a monastery for monks..." We explore these universal recognitions beyond any single religious framework. 🙏
@@spiritualreliefchannel I respect your position, work and wish you prosperity in it. Let me bring some evidence to back up… these are quotes from the same book (tarjuman-Al ashwaq) which that poem of love is located in. It’s important to give context, as it points a picture that is against what the author was revealing. These expressions refer to the openness of the heart to God’s manifestations. They do not imply equality between the laws of the prophets, for the Law of Muhammad is the most perfect and complete.” “The Quran is the summation of all Divine wisdom, containing what was given to the prophets before Muhammad and perfecting their teachings. To know the Quran is to know all revelation.” “All religions belong to God, for all are directed to Him in their intention. However, their validity is conditioned by their conformity to the Truth, which is found in its most complete form in the religion of Muhammad.” “Let no one think that these words diminish the exalted station of the Shari’ah of Muhammad, for it is the Shari’ah that guides to the ultimate truth and reality. All other paths are incomplete without it.” “True love for God is demonstrated through adherence to His commands and the way of His Messenger. Without this, love is incomplete.” In his later works(futuhat-al makkiyah) when he was more mature, up until the age 70 also shows that he thought the same way. “The religion of Muhammad is the most complete and perfect. It abrogates every other religion because it embraces every form of worship and rectifies them.” (Futuhat al-Makkiyah) “The Shari’ah of Muhammad alone leads to union with God, for it has abrogated all other religious laws. Anyone who seeks the Divine through any other law will fail to reach Him.” (Futuhat al-Makkiyah) “It is through the Quran that all previous revelations are clarified, for it contains the truth of all scriptures and corrects the distortions of earlier communities.” (Futuhat al-Makkiyah) “Those who have not received the true message of Islam may still attain salvation if they worship sincerely, for they are excused by their ignorance. But for those who have known Islam and rejected it, there is no salvation.” (Futuhat al-Makkiyah) “Worship differs in form, but it is always directed to God, whether the worshiper realizes it or not. However, the perfected ones are those who follow Muhammad, for they have been given the greatest clarity in worship.” (Futuhat al-Makkiyah) These quotes from his later works clarify Ibn Arabi’s firm belief in the finality and supremacy of Islam as the ultimate path to God, firmly situating him within the Islamic framework and rejecting modern interpretations of him as a perennialist. This is what he thought, and you don’t have to agree with him and can still appreciate his work within your perrenilaist framework, that is fine no worries. But, we’d need to point out the truth without paining a picture otherwise. I wish you the best and all love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️. From a qadiri sufi himself.
