  • The Wisehigh 8 inch Dewalt compatible chainsaw is an absolute Beast! In this video we'll unbox, as well as go over the Wisehigh 8 inch chainsaw's features, finally doing a torture test to see how many cuts it can get from the Dewalt 10ah (amp hour) and 4amp hour (ah) batteries. There's some dad jokes in between, so enjoy!

I would have just used old motor oil. For saw such as that as slow as the RPMs are regular motor oil probably would have worked with that primer and been sufficient enough to help with the cuts.

Thanks for watching. I agree, but we usually use bar and chain oil for bars and chains, so being that it didn't specify, I figured it's what you use. The Sten's stuff that I used is an old season mixture that is supposed to be a lot lighter weight than standard bar and chain oil. I just kept it in that Stihl container because it was easier to pour than the gallon container that the Sten's oil came in.

Ya I heard it in the vid, But it's just an experience thing. Hell on a tiny saw like that it probably still would have been better off just to spray it with WD-40 as you went 🤣 I could tell as soon as you overfilled the container that that oil was going to be way too thick

Ha ha ha, we live and learn. I was going to edit that out, but it's relatable, so I left it in!

Since the oil is just lubing the chain and that chain being small and slow, compared to a full size saw, mineral oil would likely be enough. Maybe used Wok oil is what was OEM? LOL!

Very good point Bert! Sorry for the late response. I usually get a notification when people comment, but for some reason I just noticed yours today. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Really sucks that the oiler doesn't work. Did they intend a much thinner oil? Or maybe just didn't design it appropriately for thicker oils.

As dedicated chain oils go, like purpose made for chainsaws, the Sten's all season is about the thinnest oil of this class.
I took the whole thing apart and really didn't want to add me tinkering with the inners of the saw because the video was already pretty long. This would have probably added two more minutes. I think that the cap might have required an O-ring to fix it. I think air was leaking out around the cap and not pushing the oil. Being DeWalt compatible is a massive Plus on any of these chainsaws. Quality Batteries are half the battle to get more cuts.

I really want to be in the room when the companies brainstorm and choose the brand names in China. 🤣🤣🤣
