    Your welcome. I tried to perform a very detailed review because while I was shopping, I couldn't find anything that really detailed how well the package worked. I hope that this video helps many people make a decision.

      Larry M Musgrave do you think this can inflate big tractor tires (16.9-28 size)?

    • @LarryMusgrave
      @LarryMusgrave  4 роки тому +4

      Absolutely, yes. The reason I say that is that while your asking about a tire with much larger air volume, your not talking much pressure. Do the compressor does move a respectable amount of air volume to quickly inflate, and it should get you to the lower fill pressure easily without a heart issue. I currently use this on a Jeep with 4 37x13.5-18 tires, and I can fill all 4 tires from 10 psi to 30 psi in about 20 minutes including my time to move from tire to tire.
      My buddy has a dual piston ARB pump that is hard mounted into his Jeep and costs about 3 times what this portable unit costs. I can fill my tires side by side with him and match his speed.
      It's now the end of 2019 and I'm still using this same pump that I bought when.... 2014 or so? If it burned up on me now I wouldn't be upset. This thing doesn't owe me anything at this point 🤟

      Yes, the battery voltage versus the alternator charging voltage makes a very notable difference in pump performance.

    Ronald, I use it now on my JK with 37x13.5 STT Pro tires, it's about 4 minutes (I haven't done a formal test) to go from 12 psi to 26 psi for the road.

    *This is INSANELY nice.💫 **allabout.wiki/Viair** i got a Bostitch 6 gallon pancake and the regulator broke, and it was stupid loud. Also, the gauges barely worked. it wouldnt even power a die grinder. But this little dude ROCKS. Its not only 1/4 as loud as the Bositch, it works like a fine tuned machine should. Kudos to California Air Tools! This performs EXACTLY as advertised. Cant beat the price either.*

    Subbed and liked! Thank you for the review! I would like to get a tire air compressor for my raptor (off-roading) and one to fill up the tires on my mustang (1/4 mile track). Stupid question. Can this work on my 315/70r17 tires and 275/40ZR19 tires?
    I don’t like that it gets hot and the proprietary fittings. Is there an air compressor with the same or better specs that comes with American standard fittings? Or even one that is a level above this one? Thanks

    • @LarryMusgrave
      @LarryMusgrave  4 роки тому +1

      Honestly, ViaAir are the very best systems out there. For the price, I'm very happy with this product and I am still using this for my 37x13.5 Cooper STT Pro tires on my Jeep Wrangler. The heat thing is not an issue once you learn to not touch it in metal parts, and I usually just leave it sit in the ground for 5 or so minutes after filling tires before I pack it away.

    The instructions do have a sequence to follow for proper use and longevity of this unit. You are asked in the instructions to turn on the pump, THEN attach to the valve stem. Don’t shoot the messenger

    • @albertl3776
      @albertl3776 5 років тому

      that makes sense. too much air pressure is just tough on the motor and can cause unneeded burning or heat on wearing electrical surfaces. May explain how some get too few uses out of their compressors before they fail? Ironically the cheaper ones that take forever to fill one's tires probably do not put enough strain on the motors to have the issue.

    Is it still working a good

    • @LarryMusgrave
      @LarryMusgrave  4 роки тому

      Yes, I still carry and use it in my Jeep Wrangler with 37"x13.50 tires for offroad. The fill hose gets really hot if I try to do a second Jeep back to back, but as long as I give it a cool down between vehicles it doesn't try to melt the hose.

    Are you still liking the compressor?

    • @LarryMusgrave
      @LarryMusgrave  7 років тому +2

      Kendrick Matthews Yes sir. I ended up going with 37" x 13.50" STT Pro tires on my Jeep and this is my go to compressor. I've abused it many times where I refill my 37" tires and then fill another jeep or 2 as well. the only negative is that those chrome quick disconnects get "melt your flesh" hot. I'm talking death hot! But it airs up fast, it had been reliable, and it's affordable. I still recommend it.

    There's still air in that tire...it's at atmospheric pressure. You'd have to pull a vacuum on the tire to get all the air out of it.

    They claim that this compressor is 5.56cfm yet the ARB Single beats it and it is rated at 3.08cfm, On 33" the ARB was 55 seconds faster per tyre and on 35" tyres it was 20 seconds fast Airing up from 15 to 32PSI at 2m 10s compared to the smittybuit 2781 @ 2m 30 seconds. Also did you have the engine running during your test.

    • @LarryMusgrave

      Yes, without the engine running to deliver the 14 volts it runs very slow.
