Guns like the 9mm FN Reflex are very important to me because they're the type of guns I carry the most: micro-sized 9mm with full-size capacity.
I carry these types of guns the most because hiding my gun is crucial to me.
I have a dynamic lifestyle where I'm always on the go in very public places, and ensuring the last thing people think is that I have a gun on me is essential.
I did my first mag change on the FN Reflex 8 months ago. So, after 8 months of use, here are my thoughts on the REFLEX!

You can’t go wrong with any of the FN’s, and they are supper quiet when suppressed, idk what it is about fn but they are beautiful in their desert brown

I really think you are overlooking the CANIK METE MC9
I have an fde mrd version. Was not sold on it originally due to firing and carrying full size guns. It broke in around 300rds threw a 407k on it and has become an absolute tack driver. It is the best shooting micro I've ever shot. It's a little tank, love it!
You go with the red or green 407k? I want a green, but the one they had in the shop, the dot looked like absolute garbage, like a booger blob. The red was nice and crisp, curious if thats just how the greens are.
I've always used red that's what I'm trained on. If the red dot is more clear than the green go with the red
@@amg20000 good to know. I wasnt sure if it was just that one-off, or if the green dots just were naturally not as clear on this model. I like green for easier daylight perception, but may have to go red in this package.

I LOVE mine. Super accurate and feels like a larger sized gun.

In my opinion I shot with iron sights super snappy g26 feels a lot more controlable with recoil grip size was good but super thin for my big hands
I really love my Reflex. Always thought a kinda cheesy name but the gun is awesome. Feels great and shoots beautifully. A perfect little defensive pistol.
I literally just pick up my first FN 510 tactical yesterday and I am loving it. She ran like a dream straight out of the box. 👍

FN's are my favorite pistols by far. carrying my 509t right now and they're perfect for us left-handed freaks right out of the box. Mine have been 100% reliable.

Trigger sucks though. The reflex is around the same price but is so much better
I love my reflex as much as I love my 509c tach. I still need to get an optic on mine but I carry it everyday.
The tigger, only thing I wish is there wasn't as much take up. I like the brake and I love the grip angle and with my "girly hands" it just slips in my hand. Thank you for pointing out the silde. My wife carries a g42 mainly bacause the slide operation is easier for her, then she held my reflex and operated it better then her g42.

Yep I’m loving mine, I got the FDE MRD version, it’s definitely the way to go. It looks and shoots beautifully!!!

@@thearmedgardener funny you mention that I actually have just a lil bit. The back serrations that are up against me when I carry got a little. It’s one of the lines that are popped up from top to bottom with little dots of rust but nothing around it just that straight line.
@@dannysllrs dude, that's exactly what happened to me. But they gave me a new slide and I haven't had any issues.. but it's only been a week or so. Got it back just after Christmas.
Are you guys sweaty people? I’m concerned now because I had mine 3 days and had it send it in. Just got info today from fn along with a shipping label to come back to me. Fire control pin was installed backwards. Started coming out on me 90rds into my first range day. I’m not a sweaty person so I ended up getting a low sweat guard LB holster.
@@thearmedgardener if you set the pistol in front of you pointed to the left the first serration in the very little corner it has the rust starts there then it’s little spots on the high point of it just right under the red dot screw. It’s not a lot so I may just deal with it for now but if it gets bad and in other areas I may do the same. It’s just been perfect out of the box to now 500 rounds later. The trigger gets even nicer too. So it makes me not wanna change anything. How long did it take total sending it to getting it back?
This is my EDC and I love it out of all the guns I’ve owned
I'm glad you got a good one. I wish I had. I've had 3 Reflexes (Long story) and all of them had problems. I bought them to replace my G43s. I love the Reflex grip, I love the sights, I love the size, and the trigger is pretty good from the factory. All of them had failure to feed problems. One would have a soft strike about every 3rd round. We tried 5 different types of ammo - Federal, Winchester, Remington and Blazer in both 115 and 124 grain. I had already bought extra magazines, so we had 9 different magazines to try. We put about 200 rounds through each gun. All of them would shoot low left no matter who was shooting it. I put Holosun 507k red dots on 2 of them and I had the elevation up maxed out and it still wouldn't bring the POI up to POA. I put a laser bore sight cartridge in them and it would not line up with the iron sights. It showed low left on all of them. The same laser bore sight lined up perfectly in all of my other handguns. I sold 2 of them and I sent the 3rd one to FN, in hopes that I could at least have one good one. After about 3 months, I got the Reflex back from FN with literally nothing in the box explaining what was wrong nor what they repaired. No shot group target like I've seen other people say they got back with their Reflex from FN. Nothing at all. The gun had the exact same problems as before I sent it to FN for repair. They fixed nothing. Having owned and shot other FN guns, I was extremely disappointed, not only with the Reflex, but with the customer service at FN. I've watched a lot of videos from people having the same problems with the Reflex and FN is sending all of their guns back with a 3 shot group target and a statement saying there's nothing wrong with their gun. I think the first batch of Reflexes were a good run and those were sent to influencers for review. The following batches have serious quality control issues and FN has taken a stance of zero accountability. We sold the last Reflex yesterday.
That explains a lot for me. I just bought an FN reflex and have feed issues but only with the higher capacity magazine not the smaller one.
Not just the Reflex, my FN510 also shoots low left no matter who's running it.
@@watermann8200I've heard the sights may be misaligned from the factory in that case. Hopefully that's the only fix it needs..

@@762x69 probably just fix it with an RMR, no way to adjust for elevation.
I tried one at the range against my P365 SAS ported. Great gun, but not significantly better to change my mind.

Been wanting one for a minute now but every time I find one it’s on back order and I will wait till the price craze goes down and QC goes up. In the meantime my 365,hellcat,Gx4,max9 will keep me held over. Keep up the great work brutha and you and Joe Rogan need another session!
I really like my reflex but i do feel the back of the grip feels kinda squared so i go between my reflex and 365 because of it being a little more comfortable on the back of the grip. I totally agree about the brown finish. I originally planned on getting a black one but decided brown at the last minute. I really hope a threaded barrel becomes available soon.
Lots of failure to feed issues with mine. You must have gotten a good one. I highly recommend closely inspecting for foreign residue, even after your first clean.
I've changed my view. The failure to feeds were all on me after I cleaned the ever loving shit out of it.Gunked up is an understatement. It does shoot low and a little left, but this is due to the incorrect sight sizes installed from the factory. QC at FN should have caught this, but I've got a red dot on it now, so it's not an issue. You have to break it in and clean and lube it up.
Break in periods are a thing jesus.
Your assessment is consistent with my findings as well. The gun feels great in the hand and points instinctively. I am normally comfortable carrying a compact pistol on my person, but I have grown so fond of the Reflex it has essentially become my EDC in place of all my compact pistols. There just isn’t a need to carry them anymore when you factory in the Reflex’s capacity and form factor. And that place in Conroe looks like FIRE! I gotta check that out.
I loved mine even right next to my G43X.
I'm brand new to shooting. I'm struggling between a Sig P365 and the FN Reflex for my first purchase. The FN seems to have features that I think will be useful in the future. (and the price is right)
I love mine. I also have the 509 as well. Both are wonderful.

I wanted this pistol as soon as I seen an review for it. I had been carrying the P365. I traded it in on the Reflex. Of course I didn't do enough research about the pistol before I bought it. I thought it was a DA on each shot. I had no idea the Hammer was cocked. After a few hundred rounds, I've never felt such a light trigger pull. It is almost as light as my SA Colt 1911. Although it is extremely accurate and easy to carry, I'm not sure I trust it, cocked and not locked with that light trigger. I will not carry it until it has been out for at least a couple of years. If there are no reported problems, I may put it in my carry rotation. At present I've went back to DA/SA pistols for carry.
Just got my reflex mrd. I havent shot it yet, I kinda bought it on impulse with no research. After this video and a few others, im glad to know I didnt make a terrible purchase.

I carried the glock 19 for 17 years as a NYPD and hated the polymer type guns, they just don’t seem real…until I asked my range if any new guns came in for me to try out…they gave me the FN Reflex and Canick Mete Zombie killer…the grip on the canik was uncomfortably small, and the shooting was very snappy…meanwhile, the FN Relex, just felt great in the hand and the trigger action was amazingly smooth…like I said I don’t polymer type guns, but Sportsman warehouse had a great price and I picked up my FN Reflex within a week…went to the range today and at 15 yds, I was quite happy with my grouping…the FN reflex and my Kimber micro-9, mini 1911 are my edc… btw, I didn’t have that lower left hits on target..
I like the reflex i been selling alot of them they are good size for conceal carry but still have good capacity and they are very affordable
I have an BLACK FN REFLEX MRD WITH AN HOLOSUN 507K AND BLACK POINT TACTICAL WING IWB HOLSTER it's my EDC after more than 3000 rounds, It's perfect.
I think your review was an informative video. Especially about the spogieness of the trigger. I thought the same thing about my 9mm Hellcat. It took a few magazines for me to get used to it. Thank you Colon.
Love the FN Reflex.. It's my EDC rotation with FN57 and the 16P Baby SCAR.
It’s just shooting low left for me still. I’ve put maybe 350 rounds total through it. W/ no red dot but I do have the MRD in FDE. 5-15 yards and it’s been horrible in terms of accuracy. I wanted to love it

My P365 SAS now has 12+1 rounds courtesy of Magguts. It's only a few millimeters longer than the OEM flush fit mag.
Great review as always. Thanks Colion. My mrd version in fde is sporting a 507k acss vulcan. It went from being incredibly accurate to pinpoint accurate. I ❤ my FN Reflex the fde is just a sweet bonus!😂
I carry one sometimes. My hand hangs wayyy too far off with the 11rnd mags, but with the 15rnd mags it feels perfect. I hate swapping mags with it because if you dont put your thumb over top of the slide it’ll pop right out of your hand when you slam a fresh mag home into the mag-well… I do have fairly large hands but not huge, just have a very wide palm. I did love the stock sights on it though, and it feels really good when it’s running. Overall it’s a really slick micro carry, and thats the reason I got it.. It’s super concealable while having 15+1 capacity and runs like a champ. If I’m carrying 9mm I usually carry a Walther PDP or Sig M18, but this is my go-to micro carry if I need to conceal more or want to carry something more comfortable / less cumbersome.
I want this gun very badly. I’m thinking of doing a trade in with my PX4 storm. But the PX4 storm is also a very solid handgun that has treated me well and I don’t necessarily want to get rid of it.

I don’t reset either when I’m shooting. This answered my question, will be getting the REFLEX now. I’m a glock fan boy but recently I got the springfield hellcat and super super impressed. I’m finding myself trying other handguns and the Hellcat & Reflex I believe with be my top 2 for sure. Like I said glock fan boy but I’d list them in this order
1. Springfield Hellcat
2. Glock
3. FN Reflex (might bump to 2 havn’t shot it yet)

I love my 510T, 509T, and FNX45T a lot. I’ve put the reflex in my hand multiple times in the gun shop, but I haven’t shot it. I want(ed) to like it, but I don’t. I have XL hands and I just can’t get into it. My wife’s 365xl is tolerable at best to me. I think the 509 fits my hand the way these micro-compacts fit others’ hands or something. I’m used to carrying a 10mm but I ordered an AIWB holster for my 509T from LAS and we’ll see how it goes. As for red dots, I put RMR2 adjustable on everything, for consistency, reliability, and redundancy. Maybe I’ll get to shoot the reflex and somehow I’ll end up liking it.
I held one a few days ago and will be going back to purchase. I'll be finally ridding myself of the G24 and back to a 9mm in compact model.
I am absolutely adding one of these to edc rotation. I have a couple FN's already so it's not a hard decision.

OK, I'm a FUDD. My EDC has been for a while, FN 9S compact. XS Big dot sights and Talon grip covers. It is two tone and eats everything it is fed. Came with two 12 and a 17-round magazine. Works for me and I trust my life to it. I have multiple options available, but it is my go-to.
This is my first carry red dot equipped pistol. The inherent accuracy is scary good for the size of this gun.
Definitely had more power then I expected..great night sights
I've got the black and FDE versions as well. I mixed and matched the slides and mags, I called it peanut butter and jelly🤣🤣🤣

i tried the g43, reflex, mete mc9, shield plus, hellcat pro, and pps.
The Reflex stood out to me the MOST!

I am planning on getting the plain top because I'm buying it for pocket carry and saving 60 bucks off of the mrd version almost pays for a good pocket holster. Maybe down the road pick up an mrd slide, if I want to carry it IWB then just swap the slide to one with a dot installed.
Mine has a problem Chambering rounds.
Canik MC9 has 12 and 15 round mags. I have canik money, not FN money.😁 I think they're pretty damn comparable though.
If you’ve got Canik money, you’ve got FN money potential. You just have to delay gratification of the purchase a little while longer.

Had one of these come into my shop one day and the trigger was the most awkward thing I had ever pulled. It feels very similar to the FN 502 trigger which isn't a good thing by any means. There are plenty of better options for a lot less money imho

I'm through and through for sensible gunrights like you have them in the US all around the world. In Germany where I live you'll never get a gun when you say you want it for self defense😢. Even though you have proven to be a lawful citizen beyond doubt. It is a shame to live here when it comes to guns

I'm still rockin' a Springfield XD9 mod.2, but I've been looking for a new EDC to replace it. I've been eyeballing the FN Reflex and I've been wanting to get my hands on it before buying one. I keep hearing the Sig365 is just as good but also hear that the Reflex has a better trigger in its comparison. I'm not a big guy and I've been really wanting a micro handgun for the longest time. My brother has the Hellcat Pro and I'm not impressed with it. I'm almost convinced to the point on ordering one after each review I come across on it.
Mine is the MRD version. Out of the first 200 rounds there were 2 misfires. Primer strike, no bang. After that, ran flawless for another 1,000 rounds, then it started jamming. BUT.. I never put any oil on it. I bought it and ran it. (I do that to all mine pew pews.) After 1,200 rounds I cleaned it, oiled her up and she has been flawless. Planning to put 500 more through her tomorrow to bring in the new year with a bang! I absolutely love this firearm. I much prefer it over the 365
FDE, MRD, slick. No red dot on mine. It is my new EDC. I just love it. Great video
I had the same issue. First 200 rounds, I think I had 2 or maybe 3 failure to fire, I have close to 600 though mine now and had been running great. It eats any ammo I give it and keeps going.
Why wouldn't you lube your weapon when it's new?? Sounds like an expensive OCD thing.
@@Hunter_Nebid I personally like to do "out if the box" shooting. See if it comes from the factory. I do 50 rounds just to see. Then clean and lube and start the brake in. Just a curiously thing for me.
I like to see how well they perform in less than ideal conditions. I run them until they start malfunctioning. That gives me a lot of information. I simply enjoying seeing how much abuse they can take. I do it with all my semi autos unless they are rare collector pieces. I recently acquired a like new Beretta 92 F , I didn't do it with that. I don't do it with my revolvers either. I guess I should have said I do it to all the modern firearms that I may be carrying for whatever reason. Rifles, shotguns and handguns. I can say with confidence that the practice has never caused me any issues I can see where my original statement may have been misleading. My apologies @@Hunter_Nebid

I have one. Became my new EDC since I’ve been a Glock boy for 18 years. However, out the box it shoots super low left and had 7 FTF at the range. A handful of click but no bang as well. So I basically swapped the Fiocchi ammo, which we deemed had hard primers. Switched to Blazer 115gr, and no FTF, over 200 rounds. Feeling more comfortable but still low left! Everyone says swap out for that sig sight but I don’t believe I should have to do that… still debating this. I wanna love it…
Have you given it to other people to shoot? If they also shoot low + left its the gun. Try shooting it with your weak hand - does it go low + right?

I noticed you don’t review many m&ps. When it comes to micro compact, I love my m&p shield plus! Just feels better in hand than the p365 and the hellcat.

I normally carry a 365xl. I love it but I picked up a reflex last week because it’s smaller. I think I’ll prefer to carry it when I don’t have big winter clothes to conceal the sig.
Optional red dot easily makes it a goldilocks micro. Yes! Smooth slide and tigger for a micro

What im disappointed with is that the recoil spring assembly is a plastic rod….. plastic lower? Okay weve been fed that bs, but the actual internals to be plastic???

This is a great handgun, paired with a versacarry clip IWB, I get no printing.
This is on my maybe list the FN 509c is definitely my next gun list.
This needs to be the next firearm on the roster. To sit next to my P365CA and Hellcat (whenever the hell those hit the shelves...)
