Great job Piggy as usual. As for the Lucas pumps, I drive a 1.9 td Xsara with a lucas pump and KKK K03 turbo. Have tuned it actually, about 19 psi boost and half a turn on the max fuel. It goes well. Mr Piggy ... love your content. Have you covered replacement of Peugeot 405 diesel engine mounts (or similar) ? Can you point me in the right direction ? Many thx.
Thanks for the video. I don’t understand why it wasn’t necessary to configure timing on the fuel pump with dial test indicator. In the video you did not show it. Adjustment of injection timing was not required on the rebuild injection pump?
Only if you are trying to dial in the original timing settings. Otherwise, just rotate on the three locating studs to your desired timing. Most experienced do it by ear and butt sensors 👍😉🐷💪
Dial guage is used to set position of the flange on its taper when the pump is assembled when there's no woodruff key used (such as the VE fitted to Ford di Transits) but when there's a woodruff key like on this vehicle, that woodruff sets the timing in the factory position so when you peg everything its going to be timed. After that there is a small amount of fine adjustment of the timing available (some on slots where they mount & some on slots on the pulley bolts).
