This movie takes place in the Star Wars Legends expanded universe, the title's story follows former Mandalorian warrior Jango Fett during his prime as a bounty hunter, and provides the backstory to the character's role in Attack of the Clones, explaining several elements from the film such as how he acquired his iconic ship, Slave I, met his future partner Zam Wesell, and was chosen as the genetic template for the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. In the game's overarching narrative, Fett is hired by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus to eliminate the Dark Jedi Komari Vosa, and becomes entangled in an extensive "death stick" trafficking conspiracy while clashing with various criminal syndicates and an old rival.
I don’t think this game in particular was ever specifically designed as legends by Disney. It wouldn’t make sense if it was, because these events are integral to the plot of episode 2.
@@SilverMcMurray1998 It is legends. Disney wiped out everything but the movies, the novelizations of the movies and the 2008 clone wars show. they then revised that to only the movies and the clone wars show. Everything else was purged.
What is especially cool is, not only is Komari Vosa voiced by the same actress as Asajj Ventress, but Ventress also uses VOSA'S lightsabers! She was given them by Count Dooku when she became his apprentice.
I really hope one day there will be a show giving Jango a spotlight he rightfully deserves. From his upbringing under Mereel to this hunt that starts the creation of the greatest galactic army.
This was honestly one of my favourite SW games growing up. Sure the controls were janky, platforming issues and camera problems, but at the time when the prequels were coming out, the idea of having a game that explored the universe in the prequel era when were fed tidbits, was great. I particularly liked that they featured multiple different types of aliens and designed NPCS compared to Jedi Outcasts four alien enemy types (Gran, Trandoshan, Rodian, Tusken Raider), having civilian NPCs interacting in the environment that felt a bit more natural and going to various locals, to me this was a step up pre-Kotor. The story also answers some questions as to why Jango would want a son, and why he was chosen as the Clone template and is told fairly well. What I like is that we have a character that has experienced loss, of his blood family, his extended family (Mandalorians) and it is about him realizing that he wants more from life then credits. To me its one of my favourite SW games. I also love Roz as a supportive character.
Always like Roz she was sweet but tough my head canon is after coming back from the battle with the Jedi when they were betrayed and all of that mandolre disowned him said the only way to keep peace was to out cast him and claim he was just a bounty hunter who found that armor so he just left with no purpose in life so him helping a old woman to keep peace seems in character
Thank you for this. For a game released in 2002, they did a great job developing a compelling story and making it feel like a proper addition to the canon. I also liked how the dialogue feels real, and these are real characters. Good to see more exposition on Jango and Zam as well. Roz was a gem as well.
One thing i really like about this game is how Sidious considers Vosa a serious threat to his plans. And she is since the Bando Gora is a growing problem
Has anyone else noticed near of Chapter 3 The Break Out, Meeko appears again as a collectable bounty. Wanted dead 10,000 credits, alive 0 credits, making him the second highest bounty in the whole game. The bounty description is priceless. BRIEF: Captured by a bounty hunter and returned to Oovo IV, where he will die for stealing my prized borhek! ORIGINATOR: Angry borhek owner
For 22 years since his introduction, he’s always, and STILL is to this day, my #1 Favorite SW character. I blame Dooku and Sidious for getting him involved in their plan and causing his death. And because of the unforeseen circumstances during the battle on Geonosis he lost to Mace too easily. At least his legacy still lives on in Boba and in this game in RL, which I NEVER expected to get a Remaster of all games! Feels great replaying it after two decades…
The 2000s were filled with great star wars games that should've spun off into their own game series. Imagine if we got a Bounty Hunter game series that focused on a different bounty hunter like Boba Fett or IG 88
you know when you really think about it the reason why Jango wanted to be Cloned is because with no more Mandalorians left the only way to continue their legacy is to make a Clone of a Mandalorian
I hope one day we get some sort of anthology of sorts for Jango in either live action or animation. He has such a compelling backstory, not to mention the events that led to him being the clone template for the clone army was so amazing.
@@plissken94th57 Yeah I remember that, was so happy they did that, as it finally ended the debate on whether he was actually a Mandalorian or not in canon (he and Boba will always be Mando's no matter what anyone says.)
I always loved how the game weaved in smaller bounties like Jervis Gloom, Bendix Fust, and Longo Two-Guns to advance Jango’s hunt for the big bounty on Vosa. And gives you even smaller bounties on their crew along the way.
Remasters don’t usually do that. They just polish the textures and sound. They don’t make any new content, or remove existing content. This game being made in 2002 adds to this.
YES!!! Thank you so much for making an update to this one! The upscale is incredible! I can't believe what an improvement they made to a 2002 game! Amazing (and thank you for adding the missing cut scenes from the other one) Such a great game MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME
Least Aspyr didn't mess this up, yet big f for kotor 2/battlefront collections, should of been big w like this/force unleased switch/jedi academy games
I'd love to see this remade with outlaws graphics and open world, not to mention i think different ship and weapon loadouts would be great, have a dlc where you play as montross...THAT would be a star wars game!
Wow this is a good idea with a little flaw in the execution ;-) But 2002 is so long ago... 2001 was like the year of lacked copies of Star Wars and the Star Wars movies from that time were just as cheesy as this ;-)
I played the game so much back in the day that I actually mastered them and managed to beat EVERY level easily (including the Tattooine ones) without dying later on. It was so much fun. Lol

With Disney at the helm?
Not a chance
Well that’s what we said about boba, and Disney botched it. So let’s hope it’s after we’re all dead and Disney doenst have sw rights anymore.
Maybe they learned after they made a massive nosedive with their latest series and fucking up plageuis

"you won't live forever, not in this business."
"not in this lifetime, Rozz."
Damn that hit pretty hard.
Not only does it feel like Star Wars, you get a glimpse of the underworld.
I like the implication that before this game, Jango lived in Outland Station and helped Roz maintain order

Don’t care if it’s in legends timeline
This is canon for sure
Montross was one of the first roles that I recognized Clancy Brown’s voice in aside from Mr. Krabs. He didn’t do too bad here.
I like how Zam is subtly simping for Jango
27:50 I like the sound the guy makes. “Ooh!”

I love this game already!!! ❤❤❤ I'm super excited for this!
Right off the bat, Palpatine wants a competitor removed.
This is probably one of better female villains Star Wars ever had but woke Disney could never pull this off.
I can name a couple.
