- Milwaukee has come out with their Milwaukee M12 3/8” Crown Stapler, this stapler spans the gap between a hand stapler
and a hamper tacker. At $99.00 Milwaukee was able to replace an arduous hand tool, and make it easier to use, faster and
still keep it small enough to fit in your tool bags.
The M12 platform was the right place for this tool. It allows the tool to stay small, compact, and portable.
This tool was designed for the contractor using a stapler all day as a primary tool, but every contractor can benefit from its
durability, and ease of use.
Typical Applications for the M12 Stapler
• Insulation
• Polyethylene vapor barrier
• Thermo-Pan® sheeting for return air ducts
• Cornerbead
• Crafts
So you're sayin this would be overkill to put up my xmas lights?
Anybody have some tips for getting the staples to sink correctly? I have absolutely despised this tool for the year+ that I have owned it. At least half of my staples end up bent and smashed. I’ve tried shorter staples and various angles. Tried adjusting the depth. It hardly staples into any kind of wood. And there’s no way mine will even think about stapling through even flimsy corner beads. And I’m a pro with an entire trailer full of tools that I can operate correctly, so I’m no clumsy novice. Any help appreciated...
Rob, thanks for this review. I have an insulating job coming up and this tool is perfect. Also give me the excuse to get the M12 drill set that I've been wanting.
I want Milwaukee to bring in a 18v router and a 18v sander
Diorama Jedi I’m with you. I’ve put off buying a router waiting on Milwaukee.
Me too
use your influence on them mark!!!!!!!!
I want a M18 3/8 18 gauge stapler too. This is great but for heavier duty work I'd like the 18 gauge, instead of the T50. Very surprisingly big red M does not make that!
man0z About a year or two ago they started building out the carpentry focus, they’re slow but you’re doing a good job
Whens the m12 pin nailer coming out? seems like the next step!
6SoCalKid4 I sure hope so
I can’t like this comment/question enough!

Well, two years later and Milwaukee just announced the pin nailer is coming to market. LOL
I needed this on Saturday, geez I shot like a million staples with a hand gun, because I forgot my 18 gauge staples at the shop.
I havent used a manual stapler since school. We use air staplers at work which are nice but to have a cordless battery powered option would be even better.
I couldn’t agree more. We have to find ways to reduce job site injuries. I build custom homes and remodel occasionally. 80% of job site workers are over 45 years and a large number are in their 60’s. Repetitive injuries are reduced significantly when we have and use the appropriate tools. I have both the Milwaukee M12 and M-18 lines. Unless the job absolutely requires the power of the m-18 fuel, I normally grab the m-12 set which fits into one large roller bag. This stapler would simply replace my manual stapler and take up no additional room.
Bret I hear you loud and clear just turned 50
True! I love the technology that helps people actually be able to enjoy retirement. I just laugh at the old times that try and fun of everything.
For 10 years now, I've wanted an m12 stapler. It's about time Milwaukee! Bought this yesterday and it works great for the applications I use it for. I wouldn't say it's unstoppable, but it's got some decent punch behind it. One thing that surprised me when I first used it, was the delay. It's not like a solenoid fired corded stapler. But after going through a row of staples, it doesn't bother me anymore. It's quick and the delay is still much faster than using a manual hand stapler. I'd give this stapler an 8 out of 10, it loses 2 points because I don't really like the power adjuster dial (though it works), and it can't do a variety of staples and brad nails, like my Craftsmen can. Still, all in all, a great tool for $99 (Bare tool).

I have this baby and I love it. I hate the fatigue you get with the large T 50 staple guns. With this stapler I can staple over head insulation without fatigue from squeezing the trigger or the added pressure to stabilize my shoulder. This stapler is a win for Milwaukee!
someone did a lil Safety course .well done......... nice video.......
I want one, but i have no use for it.
H880 I know the feeling
This looks like would be good for carpet installation as well....
What do u do with all the tools that u get for the comparisons? Also do u have to pay for them all or do companies give them to u?
Graham K some tools are loaners and get returned, we donate others to trades schools, habitat for humanity and keep our guys well tooled and stocked.
I wish the clip was longer to fit two rows of staples and it had multi fire option
This stapler is awesome for re-felting pool tables
Sweet! Getting one!
Great video! I want one! Can you do a review on the Hiatchi NR 83a5?
Another God damned great review. Great job. Ordering mine today.
Milwaukee rep at depot was telling me about this
Still waiting for a cordless romex staple gun...
We're all older and more beat up.
Where are the young guys?!...
Right here still looking for the dewalt stapler for romex
Elijah Bernal it’s out now and works fantastic! Just had a hard time finding staples at first but stocked up now
Have some upholstery on a stool and chairs bought one works great
newton raymond exactly what I was looking for. Getting ready to do boat upholstery & have a ton of m12 for wrenching. Thanks for posting.
No mention of the lag. FYI
I'm assuming that when you say "they came out", you mean announced. Because I can't find it anywhere for sale. Am I right?
pirate 78 I just noticed it at my local HD yesterday
I think there at least online now
yeah, a superb tool and my local home depot does not even stock it!
wvt dutchy they do now
I’m invested into Milwaukee and just started doing a remodel in the house. Hand stapler just takes to long. I’m just buy this to save time.
It would be great for farmers. I put 80k staples in in the 2 years I was a chicken farmer. I got to hate dragging that air compressor and generator around in the pickup.
I just barely got this and wish I got it sooner the big delay was my main use is running wire for garage doors and everyone said no not meant for that it will cut the wire but you turn that power down it doesn’t and it helped make it a lot faster of a job and ya it’s not much bigger than the hand stapler I’m replacing
Can it fire brad nails also? Like some other manual staplers can?
Unfortunately unlike the Milwaukee manual stapler the M12 version does not shoot brads.
No
looks like a nice stapler . Is the long nose made of plastic or metal and is it replaceable?
It's metal and durable seems unlikely to break, it does have a 5 year warranty.
metal
I have used this tool for a lot of vapor barrier tar paper and insulation jobs it's my favorite stapler and the first one I grab for any stapling job. I wish it was almost as fast as an air stapler. though.
Milwaukee needs to make an outward crimp stapler for hvac duct wrap.
hitachi have one use 18v. but cant find any review on youtube, not sure why, haha
Love this channel . GOOD HONEST REVIEWS keep up the great work !
Will these be available this side of the pond please folks?🇬🇧
So does Milwaukee have one for the electrician?
would this be good for upholstery work?
I have one of these and I agree with your review. This is a solid tool - it works well and its well made and priced.
Это просто чудо инструмент. Хороший помощник в строительстве.
anyone who has this stapler. Can i staple low voltage wire with it? or am i going to be cutting wires?
Yes
Sooooo... any word on a milwaukee m18 compact table saw? I asked the milwaukee rep at my store and he said there's no word yet and hopes for one too, but how cool would that be?!
Matt Miller not yet
Ryobi also has one
Very nice tool
... very good review as always.
I paid 99 £ sterling pounds for my one , and I can tell you the difference from the classic staple is enormously, my hand wrist started to improve after the effort from day by day work .
Any good for upholstery?
@@chaseh65 .... if you put as many you can, like the nematic .
If I had this When I use to work freelance for a Exhibition company in North Ireland I could tell you for shour, now you can try, and if you are not satisfied with the results, you can send it back.
Really know and appreciate what you're saying about repeated task jobsite fatigue., we ain't getting younger...we are getting smarter! This stapler is amazing, been waiting for it to release for months! Just used it on a recent job attaching a scrim to a frame. Everyone was so impressed they all want to run out and get one of these. When we're 25 feet up in the air stretching fabric on a ladder who wants to deal with a compressor hose!
Benjamin Brody thanks, I live the pain! Just hit 50, urghhhh!
Closing in on that myself the 50th is next Summer!
Ther ist a Green. Bosch stapeler
Bosch doesn't really do things like this
Mr Sevenfold in Germany Bosch got a DIY Line and a Stapler
Excellent for on-site upholstery.
We agree!
Thanks for this. 💛
nice toy
I'll be getting this. They just need to get to that m12 micro pinner....
Brett Kowalewski it's gotta be this size or smaller to make it worth using
A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz I agree. The Makita one is too bulky, and underpowered. If they pull off the micro pinner at the size this stapler is at and give it enough power, it will be a serious game changer. Then, they can polish up their m18 nailers with more streamlined heads and maybe get an m18 framing gun? They are so close...
Solid review 👍
I couldn’t find this out online so I’m asking here. Does anyone know if I can run a dewalt XR tool on non XR batteries? And vise versa?
yes. in general any 20v or flexvolt battery is compatible with any 20v tool. Some tools like the tough system radio for example may not be able to fit the larger batteries.
Graham K XR stands for Xtreme run time, it's a platform of tools that runs on the same 20 V battery as the rest of the DEWALT cordless tools, with exception of flex volt, all 20 volt Dewalt batteries are the same
Ok thanks
Anyone have any ideas if this could staple through a metal hot air supply boot used in HVAC? like the boots that you put registers in. Im guessing they are around 28 gauge metal
Probably not, unless it's thinner than 28 gauge - I tried it on solid metal corner bead, and it penetrated the metal about half the time, but always left the staples around an 1/8" proud. I'd say the corner bead was around the same 28 gauge thickness too - my calipers put it around 0.016", which is roughly 1/64". So for sheet metal, you'll need a mesh design or pre-existing holes to make it work, unless it's thinner than 28 gauge. I have seen Milwaukee reps successfully demo this stapler for installing Thermo Pan used for return air ducts though.
Thermo pan is just cardboard though, I'd hope it was able to staple that. My company does not use thermopan we use a plastic joist liner
Not sure - it's as powerful as a hand stapler just way easier and faster
No problem, I got it and it staples the boots in great!
I just wish they sold one that would let me staple Romex!
james hawkins that would be awesome
DeWalt has one on their 20v line coming out 2019 for Romex, pretty cool. Maybe Milwaukee will make one on their fuel line soon, that will be cool.
Can u put small nails in this
Armando Monreal no
A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz hope that will be the next step for m12
36x 18 volt still makita is best tools, 12 volt Milwaukee is best . sadly bocsh is worst in 12 volt most capable 18 volt bat goes to bouch in there CORE battares .
