- Milwaukee M18 FUEL Narrow Crown Stapler IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! (i can't believe it) In this video we unbox and overview the brand new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18ga 1/4'' narrow crown stapler and tell the #verycoolgang why it is not what I expected out of the box. We are building some new sound proof walls here at the shop in Camden and we needed to build some sound proofing planks using some old carpet. I can't believe how the Milwaukee M18 FUEL narrow crown stapler came in super handy for stapling the carpet down to the wooden boxes we built and I did not expect it to perform this well! Let us know your thoughts on this new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18ga 1/4'' narrow crown stapler in the comments section below.

Lets goooo. I am on a week long binge of watching your reviews brotha man! Best on UA-cam & its not even close. Also, GO BIRDS BABY!
Thanks Cody, we appreciate it!
Nah nah go pats
Cody go pats
Happy to hear your projects are going well with the help of our M18 FUEL™ 18GA 1/4" Narrow Crown Stapler!
So...why was it not what you expected, and what couldn't you believe?
Scott Janzer he likes his click bait everything is a drama 🙄
@@craigh9112 I feel like "Is the food you're eating for lunch poisoning you? Film at 11."
Film at 11: "No, it's not."
Scott Janzer so true 😂👍
I know. I would still watch without the clickbait so why confuse me
It's funny the video creator liked most of the other comments but skipped this one 🤣😂
Straight click bait
Because of your videos, I have spent over $1500 in 3 days on Milwaukee tools! LOL Oh well, it was time to upgrade anyway! Love your videos!
Laughed a bit too much watching Vince go full auto at 8:00 and it made my day.
🤣👍🏻
Manny Ortiz he’s a trip lol
Another great video thanks Vince
Nice tool.
The cordless 18V air compressor is going to solve a bunch of problems, so I am staying with pneumatic tools just because air am invested in them.
What I REALLY NEED IS AN 18V ROOF COIL NAILER.
Thanks for the video Vince !!!!!
That’s awesome! Great video! 👍🏻
Like it! Very quick 👍
That's sweet! I don't need one because I have a pneumatic one in my basement, and that is the only place I use a stapler for projects, but were I in need, I would surely be getting this one!
I use one to install corner bead absolutely love it. No more compressor & hoses
Love the tools
Lol you’re a trip Vince hehe much love from the Windy City. Stay safe brother we need you during these crazy times.
Thanks Mookey, we appreciate that! You as well my friend!
Perfect! Great vid! Ordered one thanks to you. ...and I like the adjustment for more deeperness. 😅😅
Great Video and Presentation! Great job! 👍🧰👍
❤️
Another great video Vince! When I consider this stapler being heavier than a pneumatic nailer, besides it being more maneuverable, I also factor in that I'm not lifting the weight of 10 or so feet of air hose in some use cases.
Ahhhhh, got it!
Deeperness? I couldn't get past that 😅😅. Depth buddy... I'll get the stapler though!
I’m actually looking to buy this tool for the same exact type of job, building sound panels. Thankful for this video haha, would love to see your experiences and tutorial on this project.
Thank you-we’re laying carpet on our stairs, and we need the right tool; researching before buying.
I was not sure of buying the Narrow Crown Stapler mainly because of price. After watching this video I ordered one as it will have lots of use with remodeling. Thanks, Vince
This is perfect for fixing paneling that has come loose in a RV or for aluminum siding that has popped out due the the house settling.
That's a sweet machine. That carpet ain't going no where LOL
When I put a few of these together for my studio, I framed around dense rockwool insulation and covered it all up with some of the thinnest fabric that I could find in a roll. Carpet isn’t necessary unless you don’t have anything on the inside to absorb the sound. You want to absorb the sound, not reflect it.
"just a little more deeperness...".
That's what she said.
Shangad = messed up for those that did not get the reference. Vinny great video as always.
THANK !!!!!!!!!Vince.......👍🏼
I'd like to see your sound deadening video
8:05 WOW, really going “ham” on the staples there, lol.
Pretty cool that tool keeps up with ya; but I wouldn’t want be they person to have to remove the staples if reuse that box......cuz there’s so many 😅
Thought your test, & thoughts were well done, & gave us some real world “use”👍🏻
Cheers✌🏼
Thanks for the review. VCG family
Me and a buddy split a home depot deal a month or so ago. We got 2 18ga Brad nailers for $400.... now I need this one...it don't stop!!!
I would like to see more of the sound deadening panels and studio.
Very similar features to my ryobi Brad nailer, which I’ve been pleased with
I miss when tools came with quality cases. The old school DeWalt XR and XRP cases were the best cases of any brand. Hilti used to do the same cases up until a couple years ago.
If you received a case with every tool then you would not be inclined to purchase the roll a way pack out or any of the pack out box kits or storage systems. Plus the cost of providing a case for every tool sold raises the cost of the product. I have a case for my drill and impact driver. it collects dust in my attic as my hammer drill and impact sit in a pack out with several other Milwaukee tools along with various pry bars and hand tools. I will add that my m12 multi drill came with a soft case and I am not thrilled about that but it works.
I love my Brad Nailier!
i'm whole job revolves around the 1/4 crown stapler. I need this
I’d love to see how you guys are going to do the sound proofing. Thanks good video. Got my cordless skilsaw today!! Thanks for that circular saw ttr.
You gonna love it!!
Oh man I'd love to see a video on some sound proofing!!
I bought one of these. I'm on a job right now and it stopped working after less than one stick of staples. It's going back. It sucks, now I have to get out the compressor, hose and gun. At least they have never let me down.
Hell yea i wanna see how youre building them
I like the sound it makes! Pew Pew
I think this will be my first M18 tool. I have a few of the M12. I have been working on cutting the cord.
I’d love to see how you guys are soundproofing!
I'm interested in hearing about these sound panels.
I have the Porter cable I. Paid $35 on clearance works great. And the price you can’t beat.
Just got this critter bare tool and no bg ( which was a bummer ) but oh what a beast gonna be putting up plastic cieling soon gonna be a treat
The square egg cartons that holds 18 eggs are great sound dampening material, you could get those for free from most restaurants.
Im an audio engineer and I'll tell you first hand that Ive tried all types of egg cartons for sound proofing. Its by far the worst to use! My ear could tell big time and I used a decibel meter to find out the best. Egg was the worst, stacked towels stapled in a frame hung on the wall worked better than industrial rated acoustic treatment. Any other sound engineer will tell you egg cartons dont work.
Do a review on the packout cooler when it comes out it seems real nice
Im a drummer. If you can find old shag carpet. Thats the best
I learned a new word today, "deeperness".
Hey Vince I mentioned you in my live stream about how you might be busy making a new tool review video and lord an behold, you were 😆 great video man. 👍
Thank you Jon!! Always working hard over here bro
@@VCGConstruction Always, bro. I'm telling ya', your gonna have an actual network one day. VCGCN (VCG Construction Network) 😆
I'm looking to pick one of these staplers up
Just from what I know about sheetrocking sound proof walls.. a air gap is what helps take most of the recoil.. so I would figure out something that almost sways differently from that wall almost making that gap and so the panel will soak up much of the vibrations (I think it's called z canal.. you're supposed put a first layer of sheettock and install the z canal over that and then sheetrock to the canal and then finish the sheetrock - roxul always helps)
Это хороший помощник во всех делах. МУЖИКИ надо брать.
Just pick this tool up from the Home Depot. Customer called because his floor boots had fallen into the floor. He need to get them secured for his air duct cleaning service happening next week. Nice and convenient. No air hoses or compressor noise to deal with in the customers home. We used 1/4 x 1-1/4 narrow crown staples
Very nice tool...with such rapid fire...what is the mechanism that drives the staple ...amazing
My guy said deeperness
Use rmineral wool for sound deading and special drywall thats made just for sound deading
That looks like a great stapler, but I am waiting / hoping for an m12 23-gauge pin nailer!
They’ve filed a patent for one recently. But I doubt it will be m12.
I want one that can do nails AND staples.
Yes we would like to know. Give me the knowledge.
I’m waiting on mine but it’s perfect for old tack strip that needs to re nailed on wood floors
For on wall treatments make an open sided box i do 2x4 ft 2 or 3 in thick. Fill them with Rockwool and wrap the open side with velvet. Any material you can easily breath through with it tight over your mouth is a good measure of its acoustic transparency. I have made tons of these for home theaters and they work great.
hi, do you think burlap would make a good wrap?
@@thebrokenbone It would probably work okay, but I would probably avoid it because of its look and the way it fibers. Honestly I have never tried it personally so I don't know, but I don't think I would anyway just because of the rough texture of it doesn't really work for me.
@@brandoncoyle7110 thanks man. customer preference. i don´t like it either :D
Will this do brads? Harbor freight air stapler do both brad and crown (unsure the max width but it is an option nonetheless... I know they have a Brad nailer just curious.
If you could only have one tool would you choose a brad nailer or a narrow crown stapler which would you choose?
Hey Vince,
Would you use this for cable stapling to dry wall and studs?
Thanks
Vince you really know how to pin a video..! Great video now I know what my next addition to my Milwaukee Packout will be..!
Hi, what does the "nitrogen air spring mechanism" mean? Does the electric motor drive some kind of small compressor inside the nailer, or does it drive the staple mechanically?
Which should I buy for overhead beadboard 4x8 panels, this or the 3/8?
Vince i need a good pair of DYI work gloves any suggestions 🤔
Its cool but I think the M12 is lighter and more compact I think you should do a video on it if you already have a video on it please tell me.
Yes doy sound depending yes
I would like to see a m12 or m18 carpet tacker and i would love to see a m12 bradnailer i have the m18 but like a small m12 bradnailer would be cool
More deeperness.....ya spaghetti munchin fool ;-)
PS thanks for the review. I am not sure why I waited so long to buy the stapler after the GenII brad nailer and the framer work so well, but here I am in 2021 pulling the trigger.
Dumb question... Im new to carpentry. Would this work for attaching shiplap in side a cabin or should I get a Finish nailer that shoots longer regular nails. Or can this fire those too or only staples.
I know you guys are focusing more on power tools these days, can you do a recap on VCG work trucks and trailers these days?
Will it fire into metal corner bead or bullnose metal for windows n corners ?
do you think it's powerful enough to fit drop ceiling trim?
I like mine. Battery is loose and jiggly on these tho!!
I have a HUGE job of cedar shingling the sides of our two-story 1912 house. I want to get away from the drag of a hose while on a ladder. You think this tool will work hour after hour, day after day?
Thanks!
That thing is amazing!!! Just one question though. With no ramp up time does it require any type of gas? I mean the DeWalt you hear that motor running on their nailers and staplers all the time. Not that it's super loud but if Milwaukee found a way to eliminate that.., that is very impressive👍👍👍😜
No gas
I think it would work great for 1/4 underlayment, just grab that stapler and go
When is the Milwaukee framing gun going to be released?
Try Milwaukee Carbide Hole Saws 1 from hole dozer & one from big hawg
Well money tight and I don't do stuff as you like you construction work vcg / but did stuff so I got the hart stapler to day it works good for whT I need
Vince I love the STAPLER! , WELL if I had one I would still waiting for milwaukee to drop the price #MILWAUKEESHOWSUMSTIMULUSLOVE
Just got mine today, trigger does not feel nearly as good as the m18 brad nailer. Doesn’t have the smoothness or click. Did you notice a difference between the two Vince?
Do you have a link to buy these tools? I love milwaukie
Also what’s the different between the crown staple and a brad nail
I need one of them 2 take 2cm stapler for fencing on farms
Question been thinking about picking up the brad nailer, I’ve been doing tons of trim around the house and new door frames when I did construction in high school I used air but would u say the milwaukee would do it better?
Just don't use dewalt nails, they jam
Will this stapler with 1 1/2" staples hold up 7/16" osb?
Will this work on fastening drawers together
I want Milwaukee to make the Romex stapler DeWalt has.
Looks like a cut pile pattern match that your Stapling into
I'm an installer
I'm an installer
Would you just get this instead of the Brad Nailer or both? I've also heard that you can use Brad Nails with this too!
M18 is best tool battery
It’s heavier than a pneumatic stapler but much lighter than an airline dangling off a pneumatic tool while restricting your movement as well.
I’m almost two years late to the party but Guilford of Maine fr701 was the standard the last time I was in the business. I thought I got it from Rose Brand but they don’t appear to stock it. Don’t be putting carpet on your walls if you’re adverse to fire damage like the most of us.
Im late to the party, I know. Have you compared this Milwaukee stapler to the Ryobi stapler?
Need an M18 roofing gun!
The issue we've had is it gets hot after a hundred staples or so and then it has to cool down before it works again.
