Increasing, after years of using/tweaking with this, I'm finally getting an understanding of just how special this series really is. Have never been blessed enough to actually work a real SSL board... I can only imagine how glorious such is.
For now, I'm enjoying learning/growing even more, with these plugins, everyday.

SSLGChannel is probably my favorite right now
So many people have these plugins. Why not make a dedicated hardware controller for the ssl channel plugin? It could be a tabletop box that looks just like the plugin, able to control any instance of the waves ssl channel that is clicked on. I bet it would sell really well and simultaneously boost the sales of the plugin itself.

This is such an awesome plug. Just putting it on adds a little something and the many presets have awesome starting points. I think the best thing to do is open one track, like a snare, then open a preset, then just run through all the "Banks" of knobs to hear the subtle differences. One last thing, these two dudes could be twins!

I've got these plug-ins. All I can say is the presets - especially those by CLA - have really helped my mixes. Whether or not all those sounds can be replicated with any plug-in I don't know but on the preset score alone these plug-ins are a great addition to your library. And what the guy says about pushing the desk to the limit is absolutely true: the more drastic you are with these plug-ins the more you hear not just the EQ per se but the plug-in itself. All in all they're worth having. Any mechanic will tell you you can never have enough spanners or screwdrivers :)

moogs first filters had a drive directly before them in the signal flow...now moog filters are the GOAT....analog tec had character ....every manufacturer back then experimented with their products..that's why old gears have that character

I just logged into my Waves Account and asked them to come up with a Tabletop Controller for the SSL
bundle . I would probably use the strip if it wasn't so unfriendly dialling in with a mouse .

since i started using the SSL's Duende bundle I hardly ever use the waves anymore, but that's not to say one is better than the other. I just like the GUI's ease of use on the eyes n routing of the duende. between them both they're different in sound.
also duende are from SSL waves are not from SSL ^^ try also cytomic the glue for SSL bus comp emulation ;)-
thanks i have both the Glue and slate's VBC but given that i just recently ordered the SSL analog Gbus compressor i'll be resorting to that for my master bus n use the plugin versions for group bus compression (i.e. Drum groups) i like the glue for more clean processing n the slate for a bit of more color .

Javier Oroná correct, recorded on a Neve console, then mixed on an SSL console. Me personally? Give me the Neve. Drums sound like they came from the heavens recorded on a Neve.

Mindaugas Kaminskas 1084s are more commonly seen but that console has 1085s in it. Dave Grohl owns it now.

Hey you probably don’t need this 3 years on, but boosting the highs on the SSL is just that sound for me, stock EQ didn’t give what the SSL gives

SSL EV2 is a new recreation of the SSL 4000E console channel strip. It has some more features compared to the older versions.
