mixhub repackaged with a brown eq and no bucket.
waves, wanna do something cool?
add transport controls and switching between channels inside the bucket, for mixhub, add a Q control for the high and low frequency bands, make the eq fully parametric, and add an led style on/off button for each band (all the goodies the soc eq has). add channel variations across multiple instances and you've got the ultimate console.
oh, AND FIX THE COMPRESSOR RELEASE SELF-RESET PROBLEM. it resets to fixed nearest value points every time you press `undo` or reload a project. that would be really useful.
Paired up with studiorack this has all kinds of new routing and side chaining never available before. It has changed my work flow. Saves me hours of time.

@@adieltm that's just the eq and compressor, without the preamp, and it's from a k console. mixhub for me, all the way. i have it and it's great. kills your cpu, and it has that bug i've mentioned above, but it sounds great, and i use the insert for tape after the preamp, just like in the real chain.
I perceive the modelling on this one is better than the others....Am a top fan

OMG, if they would split the stacked API buttons to be side by side (like other devs did) it would make the plugin versions much easier to use than they are now.
This is my first ssl plugin, gotta say it's pretty cool. Nice subtle sounds.
BUT do I really need this if I have the SSL bundle from waves and all the SSL Native plugins? Probably not. Though it looks nice!
do you NEED to buy third party plugins if you have some stock plugins built-in your daw? nah but they sure sound different and have other use cases (: I have both e and g channel but just copped it, bout to check it out!

If you already have the SSL bundle from Waves, then you already have this plugin. It was added to the SSL bundle for all existing users (as long as you pay them their annual ransom fee to keep using your purchased plugins).

@@youaintasbadasyouthink ok, for the preamp part. but the nls is more about channel variation, and should be last in the chain, for that. and the preamp section has existed in mixhub for about a year - plus inserts, several compressors, ducker, bucket mixing, etc. this is the mixhub with a brown eq, but without all the rest.

Waves ev 2 the best plugin ssl! But need master channel ( bus) vu metr and saturation ! (Sonimus satson channel) and need thd knob) ( plugin Alliance ssl4000e) and oversampling x2 x4
I have it and also have a problem with CPU usage - I own a Ryzon 5900x - so quite a beast - but 3 Instances of SSL EV2 in Cubase kills my CPU... I have the impression, that not everyone struggles with CPU problems. Does someone know if this is somehow connected to CPU Type (Mac Users?) or Cubase Problem? Or is it a VST2/VST3 Problem?

Yes. The promo videos and industry professionals all agreed to that. I still remember the guy at Waves saying that after they added noise to the original SSL it sounded real. A discounted upgrade path for existing E-Channel users would've have been in the least considered.

Love to see how this stacks up against Plugin Alliance…their stuff is masterful, but much more high end
The ssl native is the best right now. The pa version sounds weightless. The native is too clean tho and not a 4k. The cla ssl had some nice analog mojo in the input and eq.

@@YEE941 You're comparing different gear tho, yes they are all SSL strips but different pieces/revisions from different time periods. The native emulates the 2002 9000K version, while this Waves emulates the 1980's 4000E version.

The thd on the pa is the same with different channel strips. even the neve and ssl have the same sounding thd I have read. I hope pa updates that

I have the old SSL of Waves'. I guess the difference is a couple of added features? It's so cheap, I might buy it anyway, lol. I think I'm imagining that the GUI looks 11% cooler, or something.

From what I've seen it works great but the CPU is so high you could damage your studio session or computer they got to fix that the results are great though

They changed the eq and compression location to copy plug-in alliance. Poor workflow. I stuck with old waves over plug-in alliance because it was easier to work with and clean GUI. Unless this is like 10x better sounding, which it’s probably not, I’ll probably stick with original which is to me still the gold standard of all ssl strips

However there's still a difference between an actual hardware emulator stuff than pure software, for example the Yamaha PM10/7's "DSP" uses custom designed FPGA's for that "last transistor" emulation. It seems like nobody else really does this

This plugin is CPU intensive I can't really use it or had a chance to try it with ableton live because I hear pops and clicks even after disabling other plugins I hope they fix this issue
I’m experiencing the same problem. I am fortunate enough to have bought the new MacBook and was disappointed that the cpu wasn’t able to handle it and that’s only with 7 tracks so far with this plugin
@@isaacalgutria I was able to try it out by rebooting the system and putting it last in the chain with all my plugins enable and it didn't crap out on me by doing this also I disabled the analog button because that introduces the pops and clicks I hope that helps with your issue

Ok, I got one serious quastion. The plugin seems and sounds great, but the CPU usage per 1 use is scandalous. Are You guys working or is it unfixable and it's just the way it is with this plugin? Can we count, the plugin won't consume that much cpu in the nearest future?

First time i've disliked a video about a plugin and it's simply because we do NOT need another SSL E channel strip. Waves could have introduced this new technology on ANY other SSL strip that isn't the E or G. Brainworx did the SSL J, but they didn't. I have the brainworx SSL channels and there really is not anything better, especially with their TMT technology that simulates the variances between different channels.
Plugin alliance with different TMT on each track is a winner for me, does this one have that?
I agree that TMT is a cool feature. Waves NLS has individual channel variation. The thing is -- since adding harmonics is a math function based on the source signal, does individual variation ACTUALLY make a big difference? It's not actually "stacking the same harmonics" like people would suggest unless you're putting the exact same signal in on every track, and obviously we're not. Just a thought

@@plummetplum On a side note, have you given Waves NLS a try? Run sine waves through to view the harmonics, pink noise to see the EQ response, and something like PAZ analyzer to view the phase. The per channel variation is really quite incredible!
BX's "TMT" is cool for what it does, but it's random within a certain confines of normality. Waves took a different approach and modeled, specifically, 3 old consoles an SSL, Neve, and an EMI... And they modeled them "as is." So some of the channels are almost broken! Which... is actually quite cool. In those cases the per channel variation exceeds what TMT would do, for better or for worse.
What would be REALLY amazing is if Waves would release a dedicated NLS MixFX for Studio One. I would probably switch DAWs to have that.

Definitely disappointed as a long time waves SSL user and customer. Kind of a slap in the face to upgrade an existing plugin and attempt to recharge for it. Just waiting for Fabfilter to drop and I can make the final switch.

So SSL have endorsed this emulation, but isn't that in direct competition to there own SSL channel strip?
🤯 Thats why I dont care what they put on paper. I already have SSL native bundle upgraded upto-date with no extra charging.
On too of it I also have SS Digital All access.
This is just a pretty looking VST wich is half of the sound to many young people.
@@DuroSamples agree. SSL are a business and they'll be taking a cut of the proceeds noting that they've licensed their name to Waves. I don't put any credibility on these companies sticking their name on a plugin. Its the analysis where the plugin reveals whether its just another digital clean plugin with a pretty GUI
