▶ Keanu Reeves as Thomas Anderson / Neo: The prophesised "One" from the previous version of the Matrix, Neo has been repaired by the machines and reinserted into a new version of the Matrix, with his memories suppressed in order to keep him under control. Despite sixty years having taken place since Neo's sacrifice, Neo has only aged twenty years thanks to the machines' modifications to his body. As Thomas, Neo unwittingly creates additional programming for the Matrix through his career as a video game developer.
▶ Carrie-Anne Moss as Tiffany / Trinity: Neo's romantic interest who was freed from the Matrix by Morpheus in the first film, and killed at the end of the Machine War. The machines recover, repair and modify her body and reinsert her into a new version of the Matrix. As with Neo, her memories of her previous life are suppressed by the machines and she becomes Tiffany, a suburban mother-of-three with a penchant for motorcycles. Despite sixty years having passed since her death, Trinity has only aged twenty years thanks to the machines' modifications to her body.

Clearly some people in the comments have not seen Reloaded or Revolutions. This scene has been in the making since 2003, when Neo revived Trinity near the end of Reloaded. Part of his code went into her, and it's been dormant for so long until that very movie.

I wish they would have let Trinity see the Matrix coding. Just like Neo did when he got revived in that hallway, after getting killed by Smith. The music and the scene was there...but they didn't do that bit for her

this movie's only problem is, it's just way too bright. it deosn't really have the original cyberpunk aesthetics. I'm ok with the story. Deffinitely better than force awakens in the same sese.
Why producers keep regurgitating movies that would have been legendary if just left to die and collect golden dust as legends, we’ll never know.

This movie has its flaws. But like Revolutions, the primary flaw is that the fans had their own expectations. It will age to be a better movie than given credit for.
The problem, like a lot of these recent ideas to do reboots have experienced. Is some things are better left as they were.

So beautiful. After a trilogy of questioning the purpose of belief, of choice, of what “the one” really is, we know: we are who we believe we are. If we believe we are “the one”, that we have the power to do good and amazing acts, then that is who we are. We don’t need other people to sweep us away and say we are destined for xyz, we can define our own destiny.
The fact they used the bullt falling shot from the first movie just in an alot more boring way just goes to show there is literally no originality in Holywood anymore

That’s pretty much the vibe I got in this moment. Neo never really believed he was. Perhaps because this is a different, presumably rebooted matrix, she is because explanations were leading me to believe maybe it was drawing energy needed from her to survive.

This film was unnecessary. The original trilogy made it clear that Neo and Trinity were two halves of a whole. This 4th film actually takes away the value of the sacrifice that they made to save all sentient life, human and machine.
The end of that scene was laughable. Like they ran out of money & just ended it or a parody from a sketch show.

Trinity was always set to evolve alongside Neo. every single stance of him gaining or expanding his powers included her. The Matrix was always a study in duality. Smith being the shadow self of Neo and Neo and Trinity existing and supporting each other in balance. if you took one minute to look at the actual story instead of whining that not every movie and story is centered around men, you would see what The Wachowski sisters(two trans women) were building up to

No ones gonna say it so I will, when you use entertainment to advocate for platforms that not everyone is gonna agree with and then try to force feed it down people's throats, that piece of entertainment is more then likely gonna fail, this film had a lot of potential if only reeves and co stuck up for traditional values of Hollywood that made that era the best in history instead of cow towing to pressure. 20 years ago our entertainment would have never been hijacked but now every film or TV show I watch has always got to deliver some kind of a "accept or be ousted" message. And for anyone who wants to have a go at me for what I've said, just save it because I'm not interested. I'm sad that this is what film and television has become, people are afraid to speak their minds in fear of being called a so and so. Just leave our entertainment the F alone and go indulge in your revolutions or evolutions in your own homes.
And that's without saying that the "accept or be ousted" message is completely contrary to the message in the original trilogy. Now they want us to live in the illusion.

At least they looked cool in the action scenes. This one has nothing positive about it except neil patrick harris. the only thing that could be considered good is the final scene with trinity in her suit. They didnt give neo back his suit, he looked lame the entire time.
