I must think of this movie as nothing more than a fan-made tribute to the originals and definitely not canon. Otherwise, it's too upsetting.

This entire movie was actually a mockery of the originals. That's the point. This movie was about making fun of the Matrix, and it was poorly done. And is that really what you want, a movie, after 20 years, just to make fun of the originals?

I don't know why you say that about this time stamp, but I agree that the movie was not 2% as good as the originals.
When I first saw this in the cinema, I could've sworn the agent that says "You were warned, lieutenant" was Agent Thompson from Reloaded played by Matt McColm, but apparently, he is Agent White who appears in Matrix: Path of Neo. I also read once that he replaced Smith as lead Agent after his defeat at the end of the first film before the original Agents were replaced by the Upgrades. The third modal Agent is apparently Agent Brown from the original film, even though he's played by a different actor and looks nothing like him. Agent Jones is non-existent inside the modal and White replaces him.

It’s just a byproduct of them (Lana etc) genuinely not caring, no points or admiration should be given for it being a profound intentional choice\meta narrative in this regard. It’s almost spiteful actually. Very unfair on all the talented people who were involved that obviously took this seriously and worked hard.

I watched the whole movie (I'll never get that time back). It was one of those movies that you say to yourself, "Its gonna get better" and you end up saying that right to the end. I like Keanu Reeves but the writers, director, and editors, and producers dropped the ball. Bummer.
it's amazing how good they are at missing.
I think the majority of fans were expecting the movie to focus on the brokered peace between humans and machines, which is where #3 ended. We got too much of the past and very little of anything new except for the special effects.
Wrong, the movie was too woke that's the reason no one liked it and the woke people didn't understand the movie so that's why it got so many bad reviews

Somehow I think more people were crying about the special effects and lack of kung fu. Lets be honest, if the first movie didnt look like a karate movie, people would have ignored it because they dont like to think. There's alot going in this movie, but not enough action, this wont work for today's average viewer. You're actual fans are still fans.

I stayed up until it released on HBO Max (3 AM EST) and I had to rewatch the opening because of how fast it was. First viewing was disorienting but after figuring out what was happening I had a blast.

I wish they would have taken a different approach like start Resurrections right after Rovolutions showing us what happened to Neo, then plugging Neo back in and resetting the Matrix putting the war on hold for a short time. Later show us the inner workings of the machine world and the Architects objective. Rather than rehashing the same old stuff

Or if they were REALLY adventurous and competant.....could have done a trilogy exploring how mankind got into the mess in the first place (robot matrix) and who were the first ones to wake up. Also more details pertaining to the 'Neo/chosen one' prophecy.

Ellen Hollman was great in the first ten minutes as the Echo Trinity! Too bad she wasn't in the rest of the film, that would have made an interesting conversation about identity, reality and consciousness if she met the original Trinity. Neo ran the modals to see if a program would gain sentience if faced with the same situation over and over. Modal Morpheus almost went insane and was assigned as Agent Smith. A lot of possible story points left unexplored, sadly

I haven't seen the whole movie yet but they should have made this movie within 5 years of the previous sequel.
The Wachowskis did not want another Matrix movie, When Warner Brothers decided to make one anyway. Lana Wachowski decided to direct so she would have some control over it. I suspect she didn't really care if it was successful or not.
If the first ten minutes was this bad I can only imagine the rest of the movie.

The Matrix Resurrections had a $190 million budget and grossed $150 million at the box office so dont be expecting a Matrix 5 movie anytime soon guys !

I love Keanu he's just a good dude. But my heavens was this a horrible movie. They said let's make another matrix with no real storyline, no reason for there to be conflict and no real reason to care about and root for characters. Everything that made the original trilogy great.
The action was horribly subpar, too. When you watch a Matrix movie, you expect to be blown away by the effects and creativity of the CGI and stunt coordinator team... In the first 10 minutes of the film, I see a lot of missed opportunities to do something cool... Too many... wasted.
So glad I didn't waste money watching this in the cinema. Hilarious that this Bugs characters instantly trusts the new agent because he didn't immediately kill her.

The opening logo was alright but idk what’s more confusing: Lana Watchowski being aware she’s making a movie/typical remake and instead of letting someone else make it, or Bros Warner accepting this project to be filmed and distributed. If they really wanted a 4th movie to happened it could’ve so much better than this in terms of plot .

It doesn't make any sense. They killed Trinity early in the third film -- yet Neo didn't lose his powers. So they don't even remember their own canon.
