Looks like they probably did Neo by having him lay down or on wires or something and then just comped him in because he looks so much better here than when he's obviously full CG.
Actually, if you look at the BTS documentaries, they describe how they had some problems with the technology getting the shot together, it kept melting down their GPUs. They eventually solved it at the last minute by just asking Keanu Reeves to fly down the main street of a crowded city late at night in costume at supersonic speed with a camera rig attached to him pointing backward, and they just edited out the rig. It's the mark of a great actor that he was cool enough to do that even after principal photography had ended.
i'm rewatching this in 2020 and fuck, those are some nice shots, Trinity breaking the window and aiming the weapons at the agent. and the still image of Neo with the cars behind is insanely well made.

The kid from the first movie was right: there is no spoon. The matrix isn’t real, it doesn’t *have* to obey the laws of physics. Hence the kid can bend spoons and Neo can fly & catch Trinity without turning her into a smashed bug on a windshield. The part that has never made sense to me is why Neo fights at all. He can literally stop bullets and he exploded Smith in the first movie. He can manipulate the code of the matrix. He could render any other entity inside it powerless and instead we get these cool fight scenes lol.

Reloaded was so badass. I know it had some flaws, and the CGI wasn't the best, but for the early 2000's the cgi was pretty damn good and some of the most badass parts made up for the flaws...such as Neo flying so fast all the cars were bouncing around behind him...that shit was crazy. I can't help but think how many people did he kill doing this...but still super badass scene...and when he flew from the mountains and saved Morpheus...man they did way better on reloaded than they did on Matrix 3 or 4. They fucked up 3 and 4 BAD like those movies could have been so much better.

So by that notion why did he even have to fight at all? In the chateau scene he uses force like powers to retrieve the daggers from both sides of the wall. So why couldn’t he force push people or force crush or force choke people. Instead of flying why couldn’t he simply teleport to different locations. If the “ones” powers didn’t have to abide by the laws of the “real” world then why couldn’t he simply plug into the matrix, sit a a random room with a bunch of phones and operators feeding him real-time information and based off of that just ‘think’ of changes that would benefit humans. Better yet, if he’s the “ one” then wouldn’t he be pretty much Dr. Manhattan?

In regards to the 'Chateau fight', it's also heavily implied he does have trouble dealing with older, rogue programs like the Merovingian/Trainman.
