I tell people all the time I learned more on the actual art of cutting on UA-cam than I did in Barber College. I credit school on my book knowledge, and UA-cam for the practicality of real world cutting… Grateful!
Do you believe not everyone is meant to have a fade, due to the amount or severity of highs and lows, in their head or do you believe ANYONE can have/wear a fade cut?
@@Seancutshair, well… you did a good job and thank you for showing this cut and on this head of hair. Nothing wrong with his head or hair, but it is not your typical head of hair you see everywhere else. Everyone seems to only want to show the quintessential head of hair. Again, nothing wrong with this guy’s; just different .
loved this!! Would love a slo mo of connecting the top to the sides with clipper over comb and using the thinning shears. I always seem to leave a heavy weight line where the top meets the side. Ty. GREAT video
Try to neatly seperate the sides from the top. Like at the top where their material hairline parts. Makes the cuts so clean n neat. Also thinning shears
Brah….. straight nuggets right hea!!! Glad you’re doing this type of content. Game changer. Every tutorial should be done this way. Thank you Sean!!!🙌🏽🙏🏽🤙🏾💈
Hey Sean. BEST TUTORIAL I'VE EVER SEEN!!! And I've seen tons. Will you please make a High Taper tutorial on the front sides of the head? THX SO MUCH for explaining things clearly, thoroughly and intricately 🔥🔥🔥
are you slimlines zero gapped ? not fully like the fx’s obviously or are they set originally straight from the box ? cuz i see you put in the ceramic blade
Hi Sean, great content, I just subscribed. As a completely new barber to the industry, I'm having trouble trying to determine what you mean by some of your terms. "Punching", "Balding out", "slim line" etc. I'm wondering if this is just your terminology or if this is common language to barbers? Thanks! Also, so sorry - one more question, in one video you said never to do a .5 or a 1.5 exclusively for an open section but in this video you started with a .5 open section (with clipper open) am I missing something? Thank you so much.
Pretty standard terminology. Punching the line in means using the trimmer how I did to put the bald line in vs. scooping out (coming up and flicking out) which leaves a softer line. Balding out means cutting everything down to skin. Slim line is the name of the trimmer I was using. .5 is a guard used in between the open clipper section and the open 1. I start with the clipper open, not the same thing.
@@Seancutshair massive clarity - thanks a thousand for walking me thru that. Thrilled to begin a stable career in what is a very unpredictable world. Looking forward to learning more from your videos. Thank you.
Really helpful! How can I connect the last step of the taper with more bulk. I personally cut my hair a #2 with the grain but connecting the last step to the bulk it always challenging for me.
Thank you big bruh, I’m currently cutting my hair starting out with no experience, bought a couple tools to get the job done. But your video’s are immensely helpful I know through trial and error I can only get better ✌️
@@Seancutshair no l mean the difference steps and the one guard see call it one and some call it one and a half while u also said the half guard is not used as a guide/step is only uses for blending pls can u explain more on that those are where am confused...
Most of the time I set it with the whole clipper then blend out with a flicking out motion or the corner. Depends on the shape. If it’s a burst or drop fade I use more corners. Straight across I can use more of the blade and flick out
Hey Sean, awesome explanation! Do you prefer the red #1 and the green 0.5 guards over the premium guards? How are you liking those babyliss premium guards?
I been trying to find videos on what it takes to start a shop, including LLC, insurance, how to find a building if you can’t afford to have one built. I wanna say Sean has a few videos going over that in his playlist,.. they’re not labeled line up tutorial or anything, but I remember him showing his steps during a couple different videos.. but it’s one of those things you have to watch through his playlist for,.. and I mean, watching all his videos helps you learn, aswell as helps stack views for his channels…. Win win!
A video on detail work would be very helpful, pointing out dark spots and just explaining how get that blend consistent. Just an idea 💡 I think it would make for a great video if you don’t already have one made.
this helped me out a lot, you should do a close up on the side burns to blend with the beard
Thanks for the idea!
Beautiful job brother 😊I did for my client exactly you did he was so happy when I showed him again thank you 🙏 for your hard work

what do we do if using a 4 notch clipper, how do we open halfway
Unfortunately can’t do halfway. I’d try and take the clicks out so you can get in the middle. I just posted a video on how to remove them
Are u only using the corners of the blade when fading lines out
Most of the time
How can I used these steps with andis master due to the lever system is a 1 all the way open..Will I use andis half way then the 1 .5 guard.?
It would work pretty much the same just have to see exactly what that setup will give you. Could be slightly different
