    Hey Everyone and welcome back!
    In this video i'll be talking about the taper and fade blades using the Babyliss Custom FX as a demo. I'm a nerd and I love technology so being with Babyliss was the best thing to happen to me in the barbering industry. We get to tap into so much cool stuff. Another topic I will cover in this video is guards and blade stretches!! Drop me some comments at the end of it!
    **Babyliss 2021 we are launching some really fire stuff!! :D

    You explain things in such great detail and you can feel the compassion for barbering in your voice. I used to be all about the fade blades myself but here lately I’ve been loving the taper blade on my seniors. Leaves a softer finish. I use my fade blade for skin to open lever and detailing

Glad you enjoyed the video and also loveeee the relatability that you feel about taper blades too. This industry is full of incredible things and i seriously can't wait for the world to open again!

    Clear, concise, ego-less delivery of information which is why I always end up on your videos. I wish I had you when I first started. Been telling myself I'll pick up Babyliss when my gear craps out. It's getting harder and harder to stick to that plan.

    Can confirm, I have Sophie’s influencer series Babyliss clipper, and the Graphite fade blade is my fav blade of all time. I remember having to constantly cool down the Stainless Steel blade on my Wahl Magic clipper. The heat dissipation and just longevity of the Graphite blade was a game changer for sure🙏🏼

    I cut with two hands especially around the temple i find i have to for control but my hands are always swollen and sore. Ppl look at me funny when i do it 🤣. I use way too many levels but im learning finally to skip. I use all levels on clippers and the 0, .5, 1, 1 1/2, so on 😆 but im working on it. Feels good to finally get some traction. A lot of which is thanks to you and your videos. ❤

    What's up Sophie I'm a barber in training and been watching your videos for a while man you guys give me motivation to keep going. I'm from Rochester, I was on the wrong path and got addicted to opiates, was bad off for 6 years. I had everything from my own car, place, my own home studio with a soundproof booth, went to college for music engineering, and when I graduated I was working with several artists who lead me down the wrong path. I know we all make our own decisions but it was a "you are who you hang around" kind of thing for me. Soon as you know it I became opiate dependant and got bad. Crashed 3 of my cars I owned over a few years, lost my home, my studio equipment and everything else including my grandmother who passed who raised me like her son. I went through alot Sophie, and told myself enough is enough. I have too much talent to be wasting. Today I'm almost 3 months clean not even a drink. Back to working out too. I don't wanna die man😔and I have a 12 year old son who needs me. I decided to throw myself into a 28 day rehab. Then after that I went into another rehab for 5 weeks. Now I'm in a halfway house for the next 3 months and then going to supportive living for 6 months after this. I'm taking all the help I can get because then there no excuses. I look up to you guys, and have been wanting to get into being a barber for the longest. I just bought a Wahl's Home Kit (model 78524) and a straight blade. Nothing big, but it's a start. I can't afford much more than that for the time being so these will do! I uploaded my first 2 haircuts I did this week with the Wahl's to my Google drive and would love for you to give me some feedback! Please, any criticism is good criticism. God bless.

    Hey Sofie! I bought my first Babyliss Clipper and I got the one with the fade blade. I have a question about hair snagging. I made sure the moving blade and the still blade are overlapping (to cut) but its still snagging. I oiled them well and made sure it was clean. Any ideas?

    • @Staygold31
      @Staygold31  3 роки тому +1

      This might sound weird but i don’t oil them much! If it’s the graphite fade blade they tend to stay pretty self lubricated (as that’s one of the benefits of that material) - like i only use disinfectant spray before and after each cut and they never snag for me. They will also catch hair in between if u cut on wet hair like for myself, i always make sure it’s dry before cutting even tho most clippers are for both- i try to avoid a large dose of moist hair getting stuck.

      I wish i had the answer for this! That region of the company runs differently than US. Maybe find a specific barber supply that happens to get ahold of more selections in the US? I see them randomly pop up on IG carrying newer items

    I think taper blade is better for low gap or low distance fading and it can conect lower and higher hair better ( in compacts fade ). i.e tapper fade and so on. Dont you think so ?
    Please notice me by your opinion. 🙏🙂

    Which blade removes guide lines (especially the skin one) more easier?

    • @Staygold31

      If using foil shaver, the trimmer blade is going to remove the line. If shortest length is trimmer, either if these blades can remove line. User preference.

    I have a good question for you: Do you find that both the DLC blade and the Graphite blade cut and manage heat just as well? Do you dind that the noise levels are nuch the same? I have a DLC blade on my Boost clipper, but I was curious about the Graphite blade.

    • @Staygold31
      @Staygold31  9 місяців тому +1

      Hmm great question... idk that I notice one warms up more than another... but graphite feels like a softer metal than DLC so I feel like the friction on graphite might be lighter if that makes sense. Sound wise, i don't notice a difference. That's just a feeling i get from when I use em 🤔

    • @Staygold31
      @Staygold31  3 роки тому

      Depends on the user … some prefer lightweight so they get the single foil while some love the heavier one and will get the double foil. I currently love the newest one from Fx3 line .. lightweight and most powerful motor. It officially releases September to all stores

      Wahl and babyliss fx guards are the same universal fit...they're probably close in size..but i dont really focus much on the exact size.... to make a difference on how a cut comes out
