My reading habits fluctuate between reading three books a month, to reading 0 books a year. It depends on what medium you take your medicine from so to speak. Reading for me is a way to immerse and escape. Sometimes reading just doesn't cut it, other times.only books can drag you away from your thoughts. I'd say, don't put pressure on yourself to read a certain amount, as long as it's fun, you'll keep it up.
thank you so much for that reassurance! there's definitely pressure to keep up with everyone else, especially when it comes to something i call a "hobby" but i have to unlearn that. at the end of the day, who cares!!!
I can read 10 books in a month and sometimes i read 2 books in a month. It all depends on the type of book and how dense it is. I purposely slowed down my reading in recent years because I found that at the end of the year after reading over 100 books, I realized I didn't remember MOST of them. My husband only reads one book a month on average, and he remembers everything he reads because he reads slowly and really immerses in the story. I'm not where I want to be with slow reading yet but I'm getting a little better. I didn't like My Year of Rest and Relaxation. I noticed that everyone on the planet seemed to love it and i felt like something was wrong with me LOL. I don't get on with that author in general. Don't worry about how much you read. It's not a race. :)
@@radiantchristina thank you for this! i'm definitely like your husband for sure. i get hyperfixated on a certain book and let myself wander in the world long enough for it to stay with me forever. a savorer, if you will. but yeah, nothing wrong with that at all, i realized. slow readers are readers too. 🥰
