You are a great teacher. I think your best quality is that you are humble and accept that not everything is absolute. I love to watch your sessions on UA-cam. Keep up with the lessons. I'm sure it helps so many people.
Hey Steve, is your rhythm tone different to your lead tone? I’m having a challenge I have great rhythm tone, but when having to go into lead, there isn’t enough gain… getting frustrated when I boost up over my rhythm guitarist there isn’t enough gain to hold notes. Wondering if you change tones from rhythm to lead not just boost
Hi. Thanks for commenting. Yes you can definitely change the tone for lead. One way is boosting the high and mid freq just a touch. If you don't get enough gain you could also adjust the master volume. If you like the tone don't change the gain knob because that will affect the tone. So if your amp has separate gain and master volume you can tweak the master volume to get more boost. Obviously it depends on the amp but maybe this might help.
Cool video, myself I like the reverb with a tremolo peddle and a Cry Baby. my main guitar is a Ibanez Artcore and the amp in a Fender Frontman 212.I was told that too many peddles ruin the signal of the guitar.
It sure can, but there are a lot of variables there. I think the goal for most players is to keep the authentic signal of the guitar tone, BUT that depends on what you are going for, of course. Sometimes crazy effects can be fun too!

Sounds perfect!
The hands of the player!!! Tone is on the hands!!
thanks for the insight steve!
I agree completely Steve...I use a few extra pedals but, not so many that it corrupts the voice of my guitar(s).
yeah, it can become a thin line for many players.
Great vids man, love your stuff
Thank you!

Thanks Steve, I've been wondering how you get your unique sound.

Nice explanation.
all you need is distortion, tube screamer delay and reverb
Reverb n delay ,Feels n sounds like 10 15,000 in the seats, tht kinda room .
