I’m so looking forward to everyone’s responses and reflections. I have been watching your videos for a while (I am of a mature age myself) and you are such an inspiration, so you, Moose, and your viewers’ input will be treasured! The students who take my course are interested in the topic, they want to help their families and older people in their community, so please know you have their support and attention. As we age our joys change. I'm 67. There was a time ( maybe around the age of 40) when I said I'll never be happy living in a mobile home park. Well at 52 I moved into one on Big Bear Lake, and loved it. After 8 years I sold everything, bought a 5th wheel and pickup, and hit the road with my dog. ( My husband passed away in 2006) I've been traveling since, making wonderful memories. Recently told my daughter as long as I have a window to look out of I'll be happy. So if ever I need to go into a home, just make sure I have that window.😊

I had my cataract surgeries at age 65. I’m an artist and I couldn’t believe what a difference it made. As soon as I got home after the first surgery I went out back to look at my flowers. It was glorious! I kept comparing the repaired eye to the shaded one and the difference was profound even though my doctor said they were very thin cataracts. I had the second eye done one month later. It was the easiest medical procedure I’ve ever had for the most bang. ❤

Hi from Annie, you look great in that bright top it really suits you so make sure it is something you keep forever. I find colours have a big influence on our moods, for some more than others but you can't ignore it the mood always improves with great colours around us in our homes and garden and our clothes. The kitty looks well and nice n chubby too well fed.You seem to have a better mood since the cat was found in the shed luckily escaped any danger. Animals always improve our moods no matter what your feeling a cat and dog will improve how you feel instantly. Looking forward to Moosey chanting with you too.
Annie I agree about the pets,sadly my skin is so thin I Carnt have them now, but I do have a 2 year old grandchild,she is a joy just talking so cute a head of dark curls ,big brown eyes,when she arrives and sayes hello nanna and Gandan ,my heart smiles😂❤

Family and the emotional support is very important.
The ones like me who are alone and no family close by will not do as well.

So proud of you Nanny on your purging. The minute I put a bag or a box of purged items in our garage my husband takes it to Goodwill. Can't change my mind. The mindset that helps me purge is to say to myself ..."since I am never going to wear this or use this I will pass it on to bless someone else". Works every time!
Good morning Nanny and Moose. You have to be careful with the weights because of your knee. I was happy to see Shamo doing so well. The garden it is beautiful. I loved your Adidas new jacket. Beautiful colours and very cheerful. Continue making the videos you have made so far about the day to day life that has been a great company to me. You are right about having to be in the right mindset for purging. If you're feeling nostalgic or wishy-washy, purging won't happen. You have to be determined, tired of dealing with so many things, and ruthless to be able to purge. Then get it out of the house - before you decide to look through it. You won't miss it once it's gone!

Good job Nanny! I think purging is good for the soul, and I’m getting much better at eliminating items from my life, plus it makes me feel better knowing that they will be enjoyed by someone else. I agree with many of your followers that doing what you’ve always been doing is wonderful, and many of us thoroughly enjoy just the camaraderie when watching your videos…..for some of us that are on our own we almost feel like part of the family. Nanny. I'm proud of your purging. I have got as far as bags put into car. Now , the bags have been in my car for a month. Everyday, I'm going to take to goodwill. Uggh!! Im hopeless!! ! I use the snail mucin cream. Love it, and am going to get the essence. For those that love all living creatures, like me, the snails are not killed for their product. I noticed your face first thing in this video. You always look beautiful, but that Snail stuff, really just gave you a beautiful glow. I am so thankful to see you getting back to your busy self since your little set back earlier with your leg. You have that lift in your voice, and I am very proud of you for purging. I have a little 12 yr old girl, who loves to help clean out closets and reorganize. She is coming tomorrow to help me get my closet back in some kind of order. I hope Shamu can learn to relax and roll around in the sun again. Moosie looked very good today too. I would be lost with out you and your wonderful family. Can't wait for the new videos. Kudos Nanny!! Purging is not just good to make space, allow others to use what you are not using, but it definitely lifts your spirits with a marvelous sense of accomplishment. Yes you do have to be in the right frame of mind, but when done, I can tell you feel free!! So touched that Shamu is still a part of your life. Lost my girl Emma after almost 19 years. She was my buddy and I miss her, but not ready yet to rescue another cat. Maybe in time. Enjoy the sunshine and take very good care.☀❤

Nanny, you are a breath of fresh air! I love watching you, you brighten my day. I think you look fabulous and I love your beautiful blue eyes! I have been purging as much as I can and it is such a good feeling to actually see things I donate hung on the racks at goodwill. I retired from a corporate job2 year’s ago at the age of 70 and the first weekend after I brought all of my suits and work outfits to goodwill. It took about three trips, but what a good feeling. Keep doing what you do! ❤

Keep the beautiful "wild" top! You look especially beautiful in it! It's great to see you so happy and energetic. Keep up what you're doing.
Keep that gorgeous top - it is perfect for you! Also, think again about cataract surgery… it is the best thing i did and colors will be much brighter (as will whites) when you get it done. You don’t know how bad it bothers your sight until it is removed! My eye doctor even gives ever patient a gorgeous colorful flower bouquet at their follow up appt and we all rave how bright colors are. You may live another 10 years and want to keep tour sight. ❤
I try to purge after every season - if I didn't wear something all fall/winter for example (other than for temperature fluctuations) out it goes. And if I buy something new, I try to throw out something that is worn out or not worn at all. I also only buy a new item if I absolutely love it. This method has helped me for many years.

Especially when my mom cannot truly be a mom anymore ( I can feel the loss because I can’t depend on her for any thing at all.) (My mom’s sister just past away she was four years younger than her. So she has 2 brothers left. She was one of 8 children as my dad used to say everybody’s dying out of order. When he was alive, he would just joke about it because he was one of seven children and he used to say everybody’s dying out I’ve order, and I guess it was a way for him to cope…. because he had to take care of everything including his parents I’m just really worried about her because her sister not being here anymore. who was also my godmother I couldn’t attend. Do the fact when my father passed away it left a horrible scar on me that I cannot attend if he knows anymore and will not attend them. I’m sorry this is such a downer but it’s a part of aging.It’s just very scary…….you bring peace to a lot of people. Thank you.

I had a big purge a few weeks ago and took 7 black bags to the Charity shop! Who knew I had that much to donate and that’s with hanging on to many items in the maybe category. I was very proud of myself for letting go. I was thrilled to see Shamu with you in the garden looking so well.

I have been purging also. I made the mistake before of opening the bag to add item and pulled three out. One definitely needs to have the right attitude. So sweet about Shamu wanting to always stay close to his ‘Mommy’.

I really had to have it done as I noticed my vision was not very good when driving, now waiting to have my other eye done. Love your top the beautiful colours reflect your personality. So happy for you that you purged the things that you were ready to let go of. I struggle with purging too. I set a timer for 10 minutes and start. This way it isn't so overwhelming. My philosophy is that you can do anything for 10 minutes. I love the colorful jacket you retrieved and are wearing in this video. I feel it's a keeper as it looks so nice on you. I'm so glad Shamoo is doing well. I look forward to your Q&A about aging. I'm glad you finally got your eyes examined, glasses fixed and picked out a new pair. Btw...I had Cateract Surgery and it was a piece of cake. I hope you consider it. You will notice a difference in your vision once you get it done. It should be covered by Medicare. nanny I’m so proud of you purging I’m getting ready to have a second total reverse shoulder replacement. I have already had my right shoulder done two years ago this month so I’m now I’m having my left shoulder done March 18 and I’ve been purging ever since I retired July 1, 2023, this past year just six months ago I retiredand it does make you feel so good doesn’t it? I have a lot more to go, but I’m really proud that you and I both got started.

Good morning Nanny. You are so right, you have to be in the right mood to purge. I had to get everything out of a room so that it could be torn down and rebuilt. At first I hesitated as I saw each item. Then I told myself that I would rather have my home free of my collections than have things that I no longer wanted. Every time I was reluctant to get rid of something I reminded myself of what my goal was. So far my son has taken six truckloads to goodwill. I have had large trash pickup come twice. I am still at it! It feels wonderful. My new room is finally finished and it looks neat and tidy. Shamu is looking good and he hopefully will remain indoors. He is staying close to you because he is depending on you for protection. I look forward to your talk on aging. My main issues are pain and fatigue. My doctor said that pain contributes to fatigue. I am trying to encourage my daughter in law to purge her clothes, I told her several weeks ago that she has become a hoarder, which she denied of course😂 however when I called on her a week later omg….. three double beds were full of clothes to go to the charity shops!!! Don't be concerned about having a cataract removed from your eye. I've had them removed from both eyes, and it's a breeze! There is no pain and it takes about 10-15 minutes. It reminds me of a typical dental appt: a numbing solution is applied, then they fuss over your face, perhaps you feel a little pressure or movement, but no pain. And that's it. You will do very well!! ❤
