Every time I watch abandoned houses/mansion/castle there is always this feeling of sadness inside me. Indeed, no one in this world will be spared from death, all of us will die bringing nothing and leaving everything behind. Life is a mystery. Thank you for all your videos.

Cuz we all have souls we can't take nothing with us all of our worldly possessions that we accumulated when we were here are just going to be left to rot or sold or passed down or whatever... The fact that this is so clean after being abandoned is unreal. The carpet is called sculpted carpet. It couldn’t have been abandoned for too long with the Vizio tv box, someone was definitely keeping it up. The kitchen is circa 1960’s and looks like bedrooms and other downstairs rooms had been renovated not long before it was abandoned (white walls not yellowed badly). Great home just left for time to eat up. You know when you take the life out of a house it really does begin to die. How sad, you can tell this home was well loved as were the people once living here.😢

Here is my guess for this house. The last person who owned it was elderly and probably a female. The person who took care of her is the one who had the tv. The elderly woman lived her final days there and hopefully was well cared for. My point is no matter how much money you have, we all go through the same door at the end and I truly hope her carer loved her and helped her with lots of love. I speak from first hand experience and only hope we all have love especially at our end.

As young kids and teenagers we would spend hours cleaning it up and then spend a weekend there. That was common with the kids in the area. Not one thing was stolen or damaged. After college I went back to just pay a visit. My parents having moved two years earlier. I was devastated to see every window broken and nothing was left either stolen or broken. All the walls were full of holes and the beautiful railings that we loved to see all polished up. We're broken and used for firewood in the fireplace. That house was special to a lot of people. And just a few criminals destroyed it. I'd never reveal the location either. It's just not worth the risk.

Another excellent job, Sir! I appreciate how respectful and enthusiastic you are during your explorations. It really reminded me of my grandmothers’ and parent’s house (ours on a smaller scale) because of all the antiques and the time period in which the house was built. If I’m right, the house was built around 1964ish based on the floors, carpet, bathrooms, and kitchen cabinets. Because you asked, I thought I’d share the names of some of the items you were unsure about: the carpet in the formal living room is called “sculpted carpet” - we had that in our living room as did everyone else I knew. The kit you found in the door that popped out is called a men’s “Dopp kit” or toiletry kit. The door probably opened because of the weight on the floor as you approached lessening the friction just enough to open - happened all the time with similar chests - you have to lock it with the key if you want it to stay closed. The fabric doll at the top of the stairs is called a “Raggedy Ann” doll - very popular back in the day - when it didn’t seem so creepy as it just did now..
Thanks again for sending me down Memory Lane!

And the fact that Alice is still caring for it is beautiful. I lived in a house like that for 12 years. It was sold and we had to move. We had no trouble with the last owner once he saw we were fixing it back up. We moved in with no windows or doors. There was plants drying all through the house. Dudn't know then what they were then ( but I do now) my Mom and I piled them up outside and burned them. Bet the whole neighborhood as happy for a while.

Those children’s portraits were very popular styles of portraiture for children growing up in the late 50s and early 60s. I know because I was born in 1962 and I had a wealthy friend who had pictures of herself like this throughout her parents house. Also, I think it’s very interesting to note that a professor and a teacher were able to live in such style. Back in the days professors were paid, handsomely for their knowledge and responsibility of passing their intellect along to future generations. Now several friends of minor professors, and they literally can barely survive. Tenure is much more difficult to come by, and pay is nowhere near what it once was. Professors used to make approximately what doctors did.

Maybe the person didn’t have anyone to help, and she couldn’t do it alone. The beautiful furniture isn’t worth much compared to the cost, time, and trouble to move it, etc. it’s much easier to walk away.

Having recently cleaning out my Mom's house that my parent's built and lived in for 70 years I agree with you. I live 7 hours from where the house was and traveled back and forth every weekend until the work was done. It's a lot of work and heartbreaking. My brother and I did all the work, my other brothers emotionally couldn't handle it. I took home with me more than I should have and tried to talk relatives into taking stuff, its tough parting with sentimental things. The saddest part is a contractor purchased the home and demolished it to build a bigger more modern one.

I don’t understand how places like this aren’t ransacked by lowlifes who aren’t respectful of beautiful things and other people’s property.
The books drew my attention because I was curious if any were first editions.
The gorgeous furniture and the rugs that you pointed out must be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. I’m just amazed!
I also appreciate that you are so impressed by these things and you’re reverent toward it all. Nice job!

To rate this home, is for sure at top number 1 that I have ever seen. I am shocked that no one thought about having an estate sale, or the relatives didn't think to take some of these treasures. It is truly a shame that a beautiful home is going to fade away. I wonder how much the house would be worth, with everything in it. Good to see that you are documenting the way the house currently looks. I hate to see it in 10 years from now. I hope the family left behind will come and get their belongings.

This one is in beautiful condition. I can almost hear the spirits speaking softly to one another, having tea and sitting in the living room. Or young sisters or cousins, brushing hair and putting on mom's old lipstick and giggling together. The portraits on the walls are gorgeous, and there was much love in this house. The walls hold tight to the secrets and memories of generations who once lived here, and will take those with them as the earth reclaims the structure. I think the portraits were my favorite items. The one of the young girl in green, with 5 differing poses, was touching. I wonder what her name was, and what her life was like. If only these treasures could tell their tales. I've only seen one other of your videos, but they are amazing. I, too, am amazed that this place has been left so untouched. Like the people just vanished one day, leaving it all behind. I always wonder why family members don't go and remove some of these treasures before they are destroyed. Someone must still own this estate. LOVE the beds, that turnstile type table in the downstairs bedroom, items on display in the hutch. I think a spirit was trapped in that toiletry bag in the bedroom, and wanted OUT! LOL. You set him free! In that same room, I noticed how the chair was pulled right up to the bed, as though someone was comforting a sick loved one in bed.

@BigBankz thanks for documenting this house. We love watching your videos. You are always very respectful doing what you do. I saw this house everyday growing up until I went to college. It is sad seeing it become overgrown. Everyone talked about this house in the area when the owners were alive. It was always well kept. As a kid I remember this being a dream house. I still remember the day he crashed and the fire department had to cut their way into the timber stand behind the house. There are many more antebellum homes in the area. They used to do an annual tour of the homes. It may be worth documenting one day if they still put it on.

Well done brother. Been watching Abandoned videos for years and came upon one of your videos. You do a great job taking your time, being respectful and taking us through the home slowly. Its a very weird feeling going through these peoples homes. The deep history untold. The stories that each room could tell, yet, we never never know. Life just continues to go on. Its a very sad, interesting and a sobering reality that all the possessions we have and save and hold so deeply, merely become "things" when we are gone.

This home is located somewhere in Alabama. I saw it earlier with another explorer. however the other explorer did say that the husband owned a tobacco farm, whereas this one says that he was a pilot. I do know that it is not a mansion
It's a nice sized rancher. I love the curtains. I also make curtains and I was thinking about making me a pair like that. They don't give you the name of the town o in Alabama, due to people trying to vandalize it but the other explorer did say that it was in Alabama.
