Frankie has always been an amazing guitarist. His 70’s rock style has always gotten better with age. Went to high school with he and Wheat, played the same clubs as City Kidd back in the day, and my wife worked with Mrs. Hannon in nursing. They are good people! Also, he’s been responsible for working with some great Sacramento young and upcoming musicians; for instance, keep your eyes out for a young guy named JT Loux. Met this kid at a Queensryche show when he was 12 years old. He just moved to Nashville, and he’s become a great guitarist for such a young guy- like 21, 22 years old! He did a lot of recording with Frank, even have a video online recently where he duets with Frank on the intro to Love Song. Tesla will always be Sacramento royalty
I remember them as "City Kidds" playing in Turlock, California at nightclubs. I have also met Frank several times and got to jam with him for about 15 minutes. Nicest guy ever.
I saw these guys opening for Def Leppard on their Hysteria tour. Awesome guitar playing. Steve Clark was great that night as well. Die Hard The Hunter!!
That last lick is inspiring, even if it's not note for note. Been a huge fan of Frank and Tommy since I heard the opening riff of Modern Day Cowboy back in 87, and Frank gives mini lessons on his Instagram. Good job dude!
Great stuff! Would love to hear your thoughts on the band Saraya from late 80s. I think they just missed the window when the Seattle sound exploded. They had a couple of great ax slingers.
Imop….Tesla was the most underrated band of the 80’s. Better than Crue or Poison. Comin’ atcha live set the standard of what this band would become. Hardly any rock band of the time met it.
Frank's one of the best ever in my very humble opinion. Always loved his playing and tones.

Nikki Sixx Called "Em Potato Farmers from Sacramento, because they wouldn't move to LA...

I also was a senior in high school in 87. I wore out Tesla tapes.
Same here!!
Song and Emotion, one of my favorite tracks from the late 80s, made a Tesla fan out of me.
Song and emotion is 1991. It is about Steve Clark from Def Leppard.

Would love to see Tommy get back with Tesla. Forgive and forget guys. You were better together!!!!!!. Thx David. Awesome lesson🎸🤘👍
Yea definitely not gonna happen
Awesome. The solo in MDC is still one of the best dual solos ever. Thx David
"Ski - Oh" .. noted! I had no clue either

The last lick was bad ass. 🤘🤘
I cannot listen to comin at you live loud enough, killer guitars. But when it’s just the bass and drums part…. Killer!
Thanks man you are a motivator.
When in doubt, Dave whips it out, he's got him a rock n roll band. It's a 5 for all.

Rarely mentioned- Bust A Nut was their best album
Tesla Rocks...and Chicks Dig 'em Too...👍
My favorite year. I was 18. So much Good Rock Music & Great Guitar Licks back then.. I'm really digging the Newer Band "Dirty Honey" currently.
👍 👍
Tesla's first 2 albums are unstoppable.
No disagreement there, but Psychotic Supper was even better IMHO.
first 3.
Used to like Tesla a lot until they did "Signs". They played that song over and over and over..... It was a good song but they played it to death.
