Wicked Underground is a killer album. My favorite Lynch album that's not Dokken or Lynch Mob. Just found this video David. Great stuff man. Would love to see more stuff from this album!
George Lynch is awesome...he has his own unique style...I have had one hell of a hard time trying to copy his licks...the dude is a master at his craft!!
George is a real living legend for guitar. Back in the 80s Guitar for the Practicing Musician did a story on all of the biggest guitar players of the day from LA and when they got to George they referred to him as the senior guitar player of the bunch. They really put him on a pedestal.
Monster player ... and George Lynch is pretty good too ... 😎 ... his unique vibrato where he shakes the string horizontally is really amazing ... up the irons !!!
Great demonstration! Lynch is one of my top 5 guitarists. I love all those weird notes that he somehow gets to not only work, but actually catch the ear. He's a great player. And I'm really glad he's still very alive and jamming.
Love the tortoise shell pick guard !! George Lynch is definitely one of my most influential guitar heroes of all time !! His flavor is so all his own !! Thank you for this video & all you do !!
I know I've said this ad nauseum, but I'll say it again.... Dave rules!! Thanks so much for your efforts in making these vids... I've learned so much, and your approach is warm, inviting, and most importantly, unintimidating.. 🤘
I have a George Lynch instructional VHS. However, George doesn’t really break down the riffs; he blazes through them. It’s look, listen, learn. I end up watching the video and reacting like this: 😲🙈🙉🙊
@@strat0871, yep. He actually breaks down the riffs. Lynch is a great guitar player, but, based on all the instructional video material I’ve seen by him (I’ve seen other clips on this platform), he isn’t a good teacher unless your preferred method of learning is just listening and looking.
Great video, Mr. Scary is definitely a very interesting shredder. I think a Eddie Hazel 3 for all would also be a really cool video as well. Keep these lessons up!
Had no idea the Lynch&Pilson album even existed!!! Listened to it today, solid album top to bottom!!! I really love the Dokken greatest hits re-recorded & re-mastered.
Good to see ya my friend..its been awhile..Lynch has a unique style for sure..but thats why we love this guy..love the lick he showed Randy on Flying high again..ha,ha..pretty cool...anyway, Thanks Late Night, what a Great lesson that was..👍
Great vid! Saw George at the Coach House in So Cal when Wicked Underground was released. The song Beast In The Box has such a killer rhythm behind the lead. Interesting reverse guitar track as well. Thanks for the great vids!
Awesome Dave. I can see you really enjoyed showing us this lesson.👍 George Lynch is a great player. I remember buying Tooth n Nail back in the vinyl days. Still wondering what it would have sounded like If he had joined Ozzy after Randy passed , when he was told he passed the audition, Oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be, anyway on that note ROCK ON DAVE! 👊 🎸
Make a video lesson on 80's guitarist that would "outline triads and chords" in their guitar solo licks because George Lynch, Vito bratta, Warren Demartini, etc often do this. Make more George Lynch licks lessons from his various NAMM shows he plays at different booths.
I remember I wore out the Lynch instructional tape! What a great lesson! David. I have the same Behringer Processor & I love it. Can you plz share your settings on the unit? Running through an amp or direct ? Great channel ..
i love george lynch one ofthe big reasonsi picked up a guitar back in the early 80,s used to have a small shrine on mywall from various guitar mags with covid last year and being in my 50,s now i went to a local pawn shop looking for a tool and found a very clean kamikazee and of course i had to buy it found a amp that a friend let mehave and ben practicing everyday i can thamk you george for the inspiration thank you late night lessons for the help on my journey part 2 lol
Another great video and lesson! Love your new guitar, very cool and unique! Q; can you share 3 components of your signal chain? 1.) pickups? 2.) blinking blue box (amp)? 3.) speakers 🔊? Thank you!!!
I think George, in his mission to be more like his influences, has made himself a shade of his former self. From '87 to about '97 or so, he was untouchable.
@@anthonyfisher5076 Yes.... I am probably the biggest Lynch fan you could ever meet and have his entire catalog. This man is the entire reason I picked up the guitar and have been playing for 25 years. Aside from the 2nd KXM album (Scatterbrain), his tone and technique are suspect, to say the least. Watch the vid w/ him and Chris Broederick; Lynch is out-classed big-time. A shame, too....
@@AMSOfficial79 I don't really think it's about technique, it's just that (to me) he's "scatterbrained" sometimes, so he changes his mind a lot when improvising. A lot of times, it sounds incredible, but sometimes it's just a little too "spaced out" if you catch my drift. That said, Broderick is a complete monster technically, so it's somewhat unfair to compare him to George in that regard.
I noticed George's playing became erratic when he started bodybuilding. He lost his melodicism & started aimlessly cramming as many notes as he could. No real direction there for awhile. But he came out of it, yet never the same as he once was.
Alright Brewster, I don’t care what anyone says, it’s time for CC Deville. Cool and catchy riffs plus some wild bends with major thirds thrown into minor pentatonic scales. Underrated vibrato too. I’ve never heard anyone play Nothin but a Good Time and sound like CC either so I’m thinking the tabs have been wrong for decades!
LATE NIGHT, Listen to the Lynch mob albums and Dokken albums at the guitar solos because Lynch often ends and lands on the scale degrees 2,4,b5,6 or on an out of key note. You should make a lesson on how he does this because he will cadence the scale run landing and ending on the 2,4,b5,6 or use an out of key notes. Cadencing the licks and scale runs is his trademark sound
That would be really cool! Frusciante may not be the most skilled guitar player, but he's a very accomplished musician and the way he picks chords/melodies never ceases to amaze me. Especially in his early years when his music was raw amd boundless. I wish he would go back to playing guitar instead of messing around with electronic or whatever, but even if he doesn't I'm glad that he put out so many good albums in the past
I've always felt bad for George, he was always just a step away from the full spotlight, always Almost the best guitarist, he lost out a few times that just stole that away from him, and then they years went by, a few misguided attempts with other guys who were almost there too, and now, well, times run off with us all, and the chances are all gone for George to leave a mark other than Mr Scary and a bunch of cool looking guitars behind. George is a really nice guy in a really crappy business.
Would “Sweet & Lynch” be one of those misguided attempts?? Can’t really get down with S&L but I do love Stryper. I hope there are plans to do a chordplay or something for Stryper someday.

LA club scene in the 1970’s - top 3: EVH, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch
@Sam Fischer the three of them were pretty neck and neck back in the club scene days
yes, that's true he is in that group for sure , lynch mob was the very last concert i went to right before the corona shutdowns
@@arnyarny77 far superior to Dokken in my book at least.
....yeah,...we are living in the wrong times,..what becomes more obvious when you switch on the TV..

Awesome lesson George has so many cool licks
Love George Lynch! It was his shredding at the end of Wicked Sensation that first caught my attention. Thanks!
New pick guard. That looks better than the black original.
