Babies with Down Syndrome all are gifts from God. I've been privileged to work with many children with Down Syndrome and it is so true that they make this world a happier place. Thank you, Frank, for your powerful testimony.
"The common kids and I learned from each other". This is critical for fostering understanding, compassion, and acceptance. This is true across the board, not just with DS.
May God richly bless you and yours Frank. Thank you very much for doing His work fighting for infants in the womb. P.S. I will pray for your mother, I'm very sorry to hear about the Alzheimer's challenge she faces.
Frank! You are an amazing man! Thank you for your powerful message!! And yes, you are handsome!!! Keep speaking!!! You are saving lives and changing hearts and minds to be kinder and more open to all people:) God bless you Frank!! You’re more than a rockstar to humanity:)
i don't usually watch this kind of video, this guy changed my opinion on down syndrome, you are truly my hero sir and an example of courage, i would not have had the ballz to do what you did, thank you.
Bo Zi Dude wtf is wrong with you. You are clearly in the wrong here. Sure he has a disability preventing him from doing certain things, does not affect the person he is. You are clearly uneducated and sound very mean. You are the kind of people the world doesn’t need. If you are going to say something say something uplifting and kind. Having Down syndrome does not affect the person you are. Bo Zi It is completely disgusting for you to say this. Honestly fuck off go hate on somebody else that deserves it.
Bo Zi At least the guy in the video life has a meaning. You just hate on people. Just take it easy and stop hating on others because it only makes the world worse. Look, idk you, maybe you are a good person and just fucked up rlly bad. Just keep the hate to urself for god sake.
Well said!!! You have integrity and character young man. Thank you for using your God given gift of speaking, to help improve others daily lives and interactions. May God bless you and continue to grant you His wisdom and Boldness. Guaranteed your parents are very proud. I pray you use your gifts to give glory to Jesus Christ our Heavenly Father. You do have much value! You do matter! Thank you
A true humanitarian and such a humble man. He’s truly an inspiration and a great blessing to us all. We need more people like this man! Frank, You’re a GOOD MAN!
I have seen someone with DS treated like a baby, their efforts to thrive and grow thwarted by their parents. It was heart breaking to see someone so much more capable than she was allowed to be held back by people who will be gone when she still has so much life to live. Realize that each person is different and has different abilities. Do not hold them back based on a blanket diagnosis.
@Dylan I'm disabled. I'm autistic with adhd, fibromyalgia, ptsd, and am currently getting screened for two other illnesses. School was difficult. But isolation is worse. You've heard of the phrase "separate but equal" that was used to justify segregation against POC in the US? Seperate isn't equal. Those who need highly specialized education deserve to have a safe place to learn that and there are schools and programs for them to learn - but the reality is, many kids that are labeled "special needs" would benefit more from being taught alongside typically developing kids. For instance, in the autistic community, those that frequently are non-verbal still understand what is being taught and told to them. Accommodating the needs of atypically developing/disabled students doesn't have to look like putting us all in our own special classroom. It looks like finding ways to integrate our education alongside the education of our ablebodied typically developing peers from a young age. I worked as a preschool teacher at an integrative program just like it. Typically developing kids would share and use basic sign language to communicate with are kids who are hearing impaired or nonverbal, and if they ever made fun of them for anything, we would shut that shit down and teach them to be inclusive. The best way to get rid of ableism in schooling is to include and accommodate disabled people in the lives of typically developing kids from a young age
So he is so funny, i liked all of his jokes( and i am a diva when it comes to good jokes) they didn't have me in stitches, but a light chuckle got out every time, which is more then most "comedians" get
@Bo Zi I kind of feel bad since I am enjoying your anger. Hopefully you contain it to the online world and not the real world. Vent your anger at me. :)
i agree w/everything he said. i remember several disabled ppl that were able to hold a job more than us so called smart folks, were kinder and brought more to life than most.
Frank is a living example of inclusion and how society needs to be. Frank is a very positive and influential man. Yes Sir, Frank is a rare gem and his testimony and his way of life are an example to follow and for Frank, it's something he should be deserves to be proud of. Yes Sir, This man is one of the finest men in self advocacy. As Frank said, slow down, embrace life, nurture growth, live life and give it all you got, He's an example and a reminder to us all!
My husband passed away recently, and we requested donations to special Olympics, the ones in our county. Many people did, and I was so happy! I have met many young adults with Down syndrome and they are very loving. My advice to anyone who has one is to get help right after birth. Call your board of development disabilities.
I had to watch this video for my school assignment. but I absolutely enjoyed listening to his speech. As far as, I have met people with down syndrome i have seen that their parents are treating them like a kid and somehow they are over caring for their kids because they have down syndrome and I feel like they need to let them live and let them enjoy their live like anyone else. people with down syndrome are gift from god, they make our life happier and that's true .

Description DescriptionJohn Franklin "Frank" Stephens is an American disability advocate, actor and athlete. He has Down syndrome and has often acted as a spokesman for those with the genetic disorder. Wikipedia Born: April 9, 1982 (age 37 years), Fayetteville, AR
I have a friend Blake who was born with a deffect where his head tilts to the right and he included this speech in HIS speech today at school and it made half of the class cry after he burst in tears while shearing his speech. It touched most of us in a way that made us rly think about it so I wanted to see the video my self when I got home. #equality #rights
I saw Frank Stephens in another video. Where he gives a speech but not as long as this one. He is Special 4 Real delivering a powerful message to the world.
It doesn't stop here. My cousin has downs, I have never seen someone who enjoys life as much as her. It's this, then anyone who isn't perfect, I have Cystic fibrosis and diabetes, does my life have meaning? I am in no way comparing, just pointing out these people will not stop here. It's evil, pure and simple.
Finding meaning in life is normal and a hard struggle in life for everyone. It's a search and process walked by almost everyone before you everywhere in the world. I think for me it's about lifting yourself up and lifting other's up. Learn and gain experience, so that you can use that to bring value to others. Which is coincidentally also how you can figure out what to do to earn money. Money can have value, the thing you do to help others has value. If the value of the amount of money is equal or lesser than the value of the thing you offer for the buyer then you can trade. Which has some cool consequences. In terms of class difference and value of money differences. For example a hard working upper class CEO might not have much time to spend his money and enjoy it. The value of money is usually lower for that CEO than for a person going that just has enough to save some money for rough times. That CEO might highly value decoration that helps his brain ease and relax when he is sitting at home. So if you like designing or art and you make something easing then you might be able to sell you product for a really high price to that CEO. I'm talking about millions if it the fit is really good. Use that money to help out people around you and invest in their lives. That sounds like meaning to me 😄
@Bo Zi so is what I'm saying. You're hard core. I'm just letting everyone know you're a bad ass. Disliking a video and all, that's effing hard core bro!
@Bo Zi Good, because I don't think you understand humor. Sarcasm isn't your friend. 2 months you've come to this video. Either you're a terrible liar, or you're just pathetic. Im leaning towards the latter.
In the late 1970s I taught at a school for vision impaired students. A part-time colleague had adopted, along with her doctor husband, a three-year-old girl with Down syndrome. They treated her like any other daughter, let her play and make mistakes, went to playgroup and did what all the other children did. They were determined that this adopted daughter would grow and realise her potential. It inspired me to write a screenplay (a comedy-western), with the protagonist a twelve-year-old black American with Down syndrome. My pitch - 'we're all pink on the inside.'
What does a downie have to do with a woman's right to an abortion after 24 weeks if her life is in danger or the fetus would not survive outside the womb? All babies with down syndrome survive outside the womb. Plus, luckily genetic screening for DS happens in plenty of time to terminate before 24 weeks. So I don't see what someone begging for more money for people like him has to do with a law protecting women's rights over their own body.
