      Yeah the unfortunate thing is that he's putting on an act. That's not the real him. Not entirely sure what his motivation is, but he's pretending to be something that he's not.

      @@peachykellz Many things. For starters, the way his facial muscles relax when he stops smiling fall back into a very normal, neutral position, whereas he is giving the impression that he holds that awkward smile and demeanour all the time. All other neuro-divergent people who have non-typical mannerisms bear semblance to this all the time.
      Now, you could claim that he's simply more nervous due to the interview, but I wouldn't agree with that, as he conveys that this 'constant smile' is the 'normal' for him to be, and how he naturally converses with his wife.
      The major tell for me, is when he was asked 'what are some topics you're interested in?' He didn't have an answer, then claimed 'I'm trying to think of the best one.' as though he has all these topics stored in his mind. He doesn't. Someone who's genuinely like him would be rattling off all sorts of things. His interest lies in the lifestyle that being with Charlotte has given him. Check out their FB page. She's clearly from money, and being with her has brought him a very comfortable lifestyle. To be honest, I hope she doesn't see this. But, they could still have a happy life. I'd say that her parents are keeping a close eye on this chap.

      Absolutely! As a parent, it’s our responsibility to ensure we give our children the tools they need to survive and cope in a world regardless of any disability they have. My eldest is autistic and although not diagnosed, hardly anyone would know he is on the spectrum because we’ve taught him how to speak to strangers, how to hold a conversation, what people expect in social situations, and he can cope now. He used to get so anxious but that is now just a memory for him, not his actuality now. It’s all about highlighting their strengths and giving them tools to cope with the areas they are weaker in.

      @harmony6643 Рік тому +79

      @@hannahwitts1339 Because a lot of times it can help people, especially with autism, to have very specificly phrased questions or else it can cause confusion or overload be ause many autistic people tend to think about things very much in detail and deeply and thoroughly. For example:
      A teacher at school sets the assignment "imagine you're on a holiday and write a card home". A neurotypical person might just write some shallow things and use some typical postcard phrases in them without much meaning, a neurodivergent person might be irritated by that task because, of course, what you write in a postcard and how you phrase it depends on who exactly at home you are writing to (grandparent, parent, young sibling, best friend, etc.) and also where you are on your vacation (snow, sea, woods, mountains, city) and how long you are staying there (just for a weekend, a week, several weeks) and for what purpose you came there (have an adventure, relax, meet with a friend who loves away, etc.).
      Another example:
      Someone asking "what colour is an elephant" would typically get the response "grey" from a neurotypical person because grey is what elephants are usually portrayed as. An autistic person, however, might think about an elephant in india vs. in africa (where they have different shades of skin colour) or about an elephant covered in mud or even their blue toy elephant and might be confused whether to answer "grey" or "brownish" or "blue" or whatever. Giving specific instructions (i. e. asking "what colour does an elephant have who was born in india and has clean skin) can clear up these multiple options and make it easier to not have misunderstandings when communicating.

    Edit: This was 17 years ago at the beginning of my career. When I 1st read her chart, I thought it was mistaken. I wrongfully had preconceived notions and judgment. They mentally are better off in that way, to not have such a need to mindlessly abstract and make a song and dance about marriage and relationship as if it requires some artistic or poetic interpretation or overachieving, Olympian nature.
