Australia, the land where the sellers are the dreamers. Look at the used car market even, stuff just stays listed for sale months on end....
Melbourne is definitely an individual's market, not a flipping market. Came in last year from Tauranga, NZ and helped my discord mate build a gaming PC (while on holiday, got pics setting this up on the hotel TV haha). Was easier to get a base system and then a GPU than all individual parts, like you mentioned.
They definitely list their parts at the price, so either you're paying their fair price, or you're not buying anything at all.
Melbourne resident here. I flipped a truck load during 2020/21, now can’t give stuff away. Way more sellers than buyers, and even then buyers want way below fair price, so no profit. I just gave my last build to a mate and won’t be doing any more until market improves. Thanks Bryan 😊
Market is flooded here in South Africa too. 2020, you couldn't find a graphics card.
fair
Melbournian here - generally listing anything in gumtree or marketplace results in so many tyre kickers and lowballers that we just ignore them (also it was Bathurst weekend so lots of people watching tv). Also the not meeting at someone's house is fairly common because fuck letting a stranger know where you live.
Love that my man still rockin' them Hurley clothing he got for a deal years ago
you're the definition of hustlin' dude
welcome back home, mate
good to see you get on the grind again, always providing us with the golden content as usual
Absolutely loved the episode! Glad to see you back in AUS and the whole PAX barter deal cracked me up😂 Keep it up Bryan :)
I went there once. Theater was just great with actors and actresses
Glad your back in your element/Home. Shows are so much better and you are my favorite tech tuber 👍
All The Best,
Jimmy from NY
Always love these Used PC Part videos. It was what made me subscribe many many years ago
Hey Brian, your used deals hunt inspired me to build PCs as a hobby, I recently had a deal on a RX Vega56. It just costs 70usd locally and suppliers in my area have hundreds in stock. Combined this with my Ryzen 5500 I now have a cheap 2nd pc that packs a punch on 1080p mid to high gaming. Thanks for the inspiration!
Sweet dud
Nice video, melburnian here. I also skim around FB market sometimes and it's often tricky to find cheap deals. And when there are they almost never reply. But when I sell stuff I had several messages at once, so from experience apart from lowballing I guess you were behind the line at that time.
I also go Cash Converters sometimes and it's rare to see used PC parts in store, I don't recommend going in there.
Speaking of which I still have several pc parts I haven't bother listing on FB market yet, I gonna stop slacking off 😂
Brian sounding more aussie than ever XD, Welcome back mate
As a person from Melbourne yeah it's a bit hard parts hunting here!!
I got a little bit of deals during covid era haha but yeh ain't not much parts hunting now
I had a good week! Msi z590 for £25 untested ( works a treat ) B560 £28 works a treat as well! swung an i7 8700, b360 and 16gb ram for £55! Flipping going sweet in the UK ❤
The market is full of dreamers here in Melbourne. In some cases they are trying to sell parts that are still available in retail for higher prices.
You should have checked out one of the computer swap meets on the Sunday.
Bryan, your smile is contagious 😁 nice video with good vibes right there 😀👍
Damn that RX6700 + DDR4 deal was a steal!
oh that 6700 & ddr4(and the wifi lol) was a great deal.... 3060ti wasn't a bad deal, but I'd say it was interchangeable with the 6700 at the same price... so that ram and wifi put it over the edge to be #1 :D
agreed
That bag pack deal was GOLD😂😂😂
Melbourne is great for parts hunts, I used to do them regularly and find good deals. The best way to do it is to jump on the marketplace recommendations. You will see a full pc for like $50. There’s a big surplus of parts around so great for finding good deals on stuff
FACTS disagree with your fantasy
@@tilapiadave3234 ok
Awesome deals!
Finally! I've been waiting this
good to see you back in Oz mate, enjoy the weather ;)
I really enjoy your parts hunting videos.. It is tough out there.. Heck I put great prices on parts and then people think there is something wrong with them.. lol..
When you do this all the time, or are cheap lol, you know new prices, but people selling only know the price they paid, ie, they are usually out-of-touch. I've seen people selling 128GB SSD for $30, and new 256GB is $32 - lol -.
man If I knew you were in Melbourne I could have came down to PAX.
and yah there are some serious marketplace hustlers who are running 2nd hand pc business from their home and probably they have staff to snatch these deals different parts of the city. NGL past few weeks there was very decent deals but they were offering more than what the sellers were asking. there is a guy I know, if he cant get a deal he warns the seller that they are selling way too cheap so they should put prices up etc.
its very hard to flip PC's these days, as people has china connection to get cheap parts and I reckon most of the people here already kinda have a PC, also Chinese students arent as many as there used to be. these are my in hand experiences from 8 years being a tech yes viewer and hustler :P
Bryan looking excited at being back home. His eyes were all lit up!
Looks like the goods are tough to come by in Melbourne, but you still managed to get a few bargains. For me it is clear to see the best part of this hunt is the comments section. Looks like your presence was missed by quite a few people in your community. !!Cheers!!
Ahh man I binged watched a ton of these parts hunt videos of yours. My favorite one was when he was a bogan and shopping on GAMtree
Yeah, if Cash Converters know what it is the prices are normally way too high.
I did get a camera system from them once cheaply because it didn't work.
A cleanup and new battery pack - all good.
Was scrolling market place and I like to see what people are selling their PC's for and saw a pretty good deal. Clicked the link and it was none other than Bryan himself!
Interesting to see the most recent view of the Melb Market. I've thought the same of the Sydney market, where people are selling RTX 3060 at MORE than what you can get brand new. RTX 10xx in the 300's and I'm like, guys, do you know what the market price is like?
Atl ga US is half n half. Too many $400+ 3060 tis but at the same time plenty are asking $225. I've written off half the Facebook marketplace are absolutely out of touch or are trying to get lucky and rip off someone thats not very savvy. Probably same thing happening around the world.
tell them covid is over lmao
@@zedboiii the best ones are nearly a decade old hardware asking MSRP.
Man glad you back and at home to see the dad man 😂 hope the trip was good 👍 and the break
Hey, Bryan,glad to see ya'!!
i7s and i9s have some pretty good gaming cache. And the reputation of course. The free backpack from PAX sounds like a good deal.
Ryzen 5500, RTX 3060 12GB, 16GB, 1TB flips have been selling within a few days with $150-200 USD profit. I've been getting 5500s from Aliexpress for around $75 shipped, and using fishtank style cases like the DIYPC Q01 or SAMA AR01, which seem to attract a lot of attention.
Hope you don't mind a quick question, Have you ever done a PC parts hunt vid over in Perth to check out the used PC part market in the west?
I've said it before, one of the reasons I went with Nvidia over AMD is resale value and you just proved my point. Great to see you back in Aus.
Day gets better 👍
Melbourne residents know what they got! 🤣 No low offers.
Great deals so far. Im picking a B450m from MSI, 16 GB DDR4 Ram and 1650 from Gigabyte so far.
You are right this time, secondhand parts in Victoria in general are still well priced(good for sellers not so for buyers) and NOT cheap like from the north, Qld.
0:15 is the navi navigating you to navi GPUs?
Speaking of overpriced stuff, there was 6600s on gumtree for more than the brand new ones at PCCG/Scorptec for almost 18 months
1:51 Yeah the overpriced parts are why i struggle so much here in Vic to find any real deals. Especially out the regional way where there is already not much on offer.
The state of Victoria is in massive debt.
R5 3600 or 5600
RTX 3060Ti
1TB m.2
thats the PC that sells here
Im buying as many $165 3070s as I can from commercial miners, thats my meta
I picked up an EVGA GTX 1070 for $80 locally the other day.
was good to see you made it to pax.. what ya think?
Been seeing some cheap RX5600XT for around $50 CAD and even some RX5700XT for $70, for reference we have GTX 1650S going for around $70
The NVIDIA tax is real
Rock n' Roll Rocker.
FB has always shown me listings far outside my 20 mile search radius. It's been worse latrly.
tbh i live close to canberra and there is a lot off good deals maybe a canberra parts hunt in future
its same up around sydney
Wish I was not OS ATM Bryan!! I would have been happy to catch up for a beer while you were in Melbourne & donate some free DD5 RAM.
Nice deals! GPUs at the low end are coming down. Got an A770 Bifrost for $180. GTX 1080 Ti for $80.
Wow that's crazy. Looking online I'm seeing listing for 1080tis for 150 lowest that don't look like scams
I agree, I grabbed an EVGA 980ti Classified for $40 on FB Marketplace. Immediately put an offer in as soon as they posted and they accepted!
@@cubancoffee Good job. I couldn't find a 980 ti for less than $50 in my area.
Surely not in vic the cheapest "working " 1080ti is 250....
@@chadstudd1616 Nope. California.
just picked up a dell i7 3770, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd with a 600watt thermaltake psu in it for 80 bucks CAD, not bad imo
Yoo the YesMan in my corner of aus. Wish I coulda caught you
Wow. 6800K are expensive there. I was surprised to see they were 45 here in the states on ebay and the basically identical Xeon E5-1660 V4 is $34-38. Honestly - I was expecting sub $20 for 'em. The 6800k doesn't even have all the PCIE lanes. It's one of the reasons why I replaced my 6800k with i7-6950x (burned it up and replaced that with the E5-1660 V3 since it's the same but cheaper).
Here a 5820k is under £20 so it's the best option for that platform
@@LawrenceTimme5820k is garbage because it is also a 28 lane CPU. If you're buying X99 it's because you want the lanes, it's foolish to gimp it with such a CPU.
If you just want a 6 core CPU, get a 5600/5600x and an AM4 board. Or save about 50 usd and get the 5500. Both would be significantly faster than X99. Since a real X99 board runs $150 on it's own, the Ryzen 5500 and a board is basically the same price as the X99 board and cpu.
would love to see a collab with another oz great ,Dankpods, on a used parts hunt. it could get wild bhaha
A used parts and pods hunt starting at cash converters would be sick.
The Popalophigus!
See same thing here in USA think common misconception of people that don't understand computer parts will drop in price a year later. People think since paid 400 for a CPU 3 years ago that it worth about same.
The prodigal son is back home!
The situation evolves to buy new parts at store prices vs people running out of cash second hand high price arises, due in no small part to economic constraints. Hoping and holding out for best $ on their s/h parts. When people get seriously desperate then we might see a come down.
Lol welcome to Melbourne bro 😂😂
great deal on the 6800k.
Its like that where i live in BC Canada 2 hr ferry ride away from the city i live in i can get used stuff for half the price or less then what people think its worth in my city i dont know how people even sell there used stuff here there basically asking new prices for used items its hilarious
if I am not saving 30-50% on used parts there is no point IMHO, why when you can pay full price and get a warranty
Why on earth are you holding the camera while driving.. pretty smart there fella.
Well G'Day mate down my neck of the woods hey? enjoy yourself while your down here brother
Would like to see you on the hardware unboxed channel possibly do a build together or something? Is that possible?
6:42 A Xeon 1270 v3 more available, same price, slightly better base clock but I guess it's the name of the chip which costs more
I swear I saw you on Friday!
Want a challenge? Try do this in Portugal, it is brutal here :[
Scored a 3070 eagle tri fan for 400 au the other week in melbourne
The winter has come to Aussie. 💀
do u believe sydney has good deals for used pc parts or do think its the same as melbourne
Yeah
bro those prices are so good , i live in a shit hole with used oc parts 2x that price
Find Kimi smiles and ask her on a vacation
Holy, 190 usd for that 3060 Ti was a steal! In my country (Ukraine) it costs at least 100 usd more...
I miss the bogan voice you used over the phone for pc parts hunting....Please bring that segment back
Adelaide is even worse for obscene prices, it's crazy here ...
i was also lucky enough to get the gigabyte 3060ti arround the same price. my only complain is the stupid default fan curve! im sure you'd know what i mean
God you got some great deals. I’ve been trying to find a 6700. People just want just under new for them.
I've one, 6700xt Sapphire

You have to buy built systems in Melbourne people overprice individual parts
damn didnt know youd be down in Melbourne, could of sold you some parts

Loving these! Any recommendations for a cheap upgrade to be able to play FC24 for the teenager rocking a old Xeon/1060 build? Over here in Sweden, a decent price/performance CPU is the i7 7700K for around 130USD with a mobo. Thinking of making a combo with a 2070 which sells for 180USD. Will it be an ok experience? :)
Core i7 4770? just about 2years left on it for Windows
You had to work for that 3060ti 😅
Australia hates AMD as much as they hate high end rpm and horsepower cars
Yurrrrrrrr 200hp 5L v8 go brrrr hooray ford falcon
@@mintynuggets more like a 600HP 6.3 small block with supercharger but then again NA
Kinda weird with how similar the ref RX5700 and commodore are in reputation. Loud, hot, reliable (at least now lol), and endlessly modifiable
I love Australian products. SLEEPING BAG and swim suit, etc they are great and I still using them
Nobody likes AMD, at least not the GPUs, lol
Hey Brian, I've been offered 4 1660 super and 2060super at 2000AED that's around ~857AUD. Very good condition. 11months old. You think it's worth it to buy and build a gaming PC and flip that?
Overpriced
I just recently scored a 129000ks, Brand new for $500 NZD. Perfect for my first Intel Build
yes Melbourne's so expensive D:
I drop in fair market prices and people either yell at me, call me stupid, or call me poor. It's just pathetic.
I actually quit pc hustling in Germany. You cant sell anything any longer
leftside drive? You are in Assie country they sit right side ??
I was also wondering, but it's another case of people using their phones selfie camera and forgetting to flip the image from reverse 🤦🏻♂️
did les hide some dell monitors hidden gems?
