- New cards! I know Cable and Domino are the new hotness, but you’ve probably already seen them take on this scenario a dozen times by now, so I decided to take an old favorite against the new campaign to see how that shakes out. Does Drax have what it takes to bring down the unstoppable Juggernaut??

That last boost was one of the biggest "Are you kidding me?!" moments I've seen on this game. And I can't seem to stop getting Shadows since coming back to it!

Ha me too actually. I’m surprised I haven’t seen it here yet, cause I’ve been drawing it all the time off camera 😱. Some heroes it’s not too bad and others it’s so rough. Who’ve you been playing lately?
@@GetUpandGame Luckly, the heroes I main (Peter parker, Iron man and Captain America) dont lose on the spot like some unforturnate souls (cough, Valk) but having one game without it would sure be a nice change of pace!
@@Runboy_was_here ha that’s for sure. Her’s is so dumb. And Hulk’s. And Groot’s. Basically all the lower tier heroes for some reason 😅
I like to think that juggernaut saw his defeat approaching and decided to at least take hope down with him, ultimately dooming everything even if he probably didn’t survive the aftermath of draxs rage in losing hope
I love that! Campaign should’ve just ended right there with that ending!
MORE DRAX! Woo! Ahem. This is a super fun match-up. Unfortunately I do agree that Juggernaut has some very swingy cards. As soon as Hope was down to 1 hp I was terrified about Trample as a boost - we haven't lost to it yet but we've come close. What we have lost to is defending, having no allies out except Hope, and then Trample being the encounter card and forcing an attack against her. Oof. Sometimes Juggernaut just wins. Especially if the scheme goes over out of nowhere too. Just so dangerous.
Sadly I don't think even the chance of a Digging Deep can redeem Deflection - I have a video recorded that talks about it, though the idea is awesome. Was White Fox in there? I don't recall seeing her and she can thwart for 1 three times or serve as an emergency block/place to dump indirect damage. So, while I'm not sure it's an idea I'd personally spend the time on refining, I think she could be a great addition.

Haha yeah, super scary cards all over the place! No White Fox. I thought about it but I was already pushing the deck size trying to get everything I wanted so left her out. I agree, it was fun to try once, and I LOVE Digging Deep, but as soon as I realized the first time how much Deflection was going to cost my hand I was really nervous for the rest of the playthrough lol. Glad I gave it a shot though.
It’s a really fun matchup though so I’m not sad I get to play it again!
Really don't think it worth the 4 card slots out of my deck to make a poor card into a slightly less poor card.

There was one moment in this game when I yelled out "NNNNOOOOOOOOO!", and that was when you put the 2 Indirect damage on Hope LOL. On my first playthrough I had put 1 on her, then later drew Trample as a boost and said "oh jeez, I hope I don't draw that one again"!! Good game though, and I HATE losing when I have lethal damage in hand!
Hahaha yeeeeeah that was not smart. It’s tricky cause I usually don’t run a lot of allies in Drax, though I have been for this campaign to help with thwarting. Gonna need to make sure I get more out or something. Though the deck I want to try next is more like what I usually do so I gotta be extra careful 😅

That was probably the most shocking ending I’ve ever had to a game on camera. I was still very new to Juggy at the time so that never even occurred to me that could happen!

Yeah I have also never played deflection, but thought it might be cool for Drax. My bad 😬. I mean it took away almost every important card at once.
But when the thruster boots hit digging deep I was so hype, only to be crushed by that final boost card. 😩.
Excellent Game. I love Juggernaut. However, he has surprised defeated me so many time. Which is great design, because the emotions of every boost and every encounter card is there.
Haha no worries, it was a good call! I’ve built a lot of Drax protection decks so it was fun to have a different direction to go with. And it nearly got the win! So I say thank you for the great idea!
Yes that Booster Boots moment felt special and needed to be celebrated. Digging Deep is such a great card for producing exciting moments like that!
Yeah I’m starting to see where he can just win out of nowhere. I’m hoping it doesn’t take me too many tries to get past him 😅
I use those same spindown counter dice for everything. I got one box of each color. Great video!

Yeah that card is a head scratcher. Would be so much better if it were Defense labeled. At least you could use Nerves to pay for it and it would trigger cool things. Oh well lol, had to try it out at least once! And yeah like you say we still almost got the win anyways. So dang close lol

I was intending to warn about leaving Hope as the only ally, as I lost to exactly the same card turm when I was playing Cable against Juggernaut.

Great playthrough as always. You almost did it! I wish I’d play as well as you guys. I recorded 3 playthroughs against Juggernaut and haven’t won any 😅. Well, but the purpose is to have fun, right?

But it is indeed fun! Juggernaut and Drax clashing is pretty close to a perfect matchup and I’m happy to try again!

@@GetUpandGame to make it less gargantuan you could just add the new Heroes and Tie up the old ones that would fit with the new villains
@@cirrusism for sure. Just a quick update would be the way to go. Would be cool to update the buyer’s guide, mod sets, and hero rankings too. I just gotta find the time is always the problem right now lol. Baby will be here in just over a month 😬😬😂

Ha I haven’t read for a long time either but as far as I know these two haven’t ever clashed. But it sure makes for an interesting matchup in the game and it feels like it would be a great fight in the comics! Maybe we’ll get them facing off in the MCU in Secret Wars in like 4 years 😆

I am interested in a little rule lawyering... Would you be able to block for Hope or it only works vice versa?
It wasn't an attack, just a damage, so there was no blocking that. If it was an attack, he could have blocked it though.

You could block for Hope if she were being attacked directly by an enemy. Like how the Marauders want to attack the Morlocks. But unfortunately you can’t block direct damage effects like what the boost card did 😞. Those just happen.
Now if there were a card that simply said “prevent x damage just assigned to a character” that would work. There are some hero cards that work like that, like Cable’s Telekinetic Shield. And Phoenix and Scarlet Witch have cards like that as well. But sadly nothing yet in Protection
I love how Juggernaut is designed and he's super fun but he can be so stressful as well, especially for the 9hp heroes lol.
Oh man I’ll bet. It’s crazy how much damage he can push quickly. I suppose if you can keep the helmet off you could still chump block and stun/confuse, but he seems to have enough ways to put it back on that that’s not guaranteed to work 🥶

Hello! I suspect you’re talking about the campaign environments. I completed the campaign side schemes in the first 2 scenarios, so I got to start with those environments in play. And then I completed the third one in this scenario so I was able to get another one!
Could you please specify show what Card's Please Thank You Welcome to play with Me
@@mandalorian_mandopandachan4763 in the first game of the campion I selected Prepare Defenses for my Campaign Player Side Scheme, which gave Drax +1 DEF and Retaliate. In the second game I chose Mission Prep which allows Drax to search his deck and play an Upgrade that costs 2 or less for free. And then in the third game I chose Assemble the Team which let Drax search his deck for an ally that costs 3 or less and play it for free
Somebody should calculate how many times Josh forgot retaliate lol

Hmmm I hadn’t thought to try that 🤔. Normally Drax needs the attacks to power up, but after that if I could get an Iron Fist out there that could really help. Welp I’ve got one other idea I wanna try and if that doesn’t work we could always try that!
