Nice review. It’s June in So Cal and I have yet to see any version of the Z. Which is fine as I’m not yet in the market for my next car. Sadly no Z has ventilated seats - which having now in my Mazda 6 I am spoiled on those hot days.
Notch between second and first is that driver never go first again while driving. Same thing was on my old S13. Don't know about weight on new Z, but S13 knew to raise the front of the car in the air when it would get back in driving in 1st. :)
You're asking "High school kids" if they know how to "drive a manual?" The fact they know how to "drive" is a feat in of itself at that point in life - and its likely their parent's automatic transmission family car. So I don't know if you're going to schools in Saudi Arabia but in most parts of the world getting your first car, let alone a sporty manual transmission car, usually happens much later in life. And considering current world events, thats going to be much later and much rarer. :(
I’m mean they’re seniors. Most seniors in hs know how to drive nowadays. Usually and most likely an automatic tho. Now whether they can afford a car that’s a different story
I really love the backend of this car I just can’t stand the front of these z’s so conflicted. I have heard these cars with aftermarket exhaust and the engine sounds awesome as well.
Definitely glad I got a Q60 over the Z. I think the Q 50/60 are going to be solid sleeper bases. Their tuner market has slowly been growing, and Z1 and AMS have been developing great parts
I'm 6'4... no way I fit in this car comfortably. I tried. I loved everything about it design wise other then that. Front end look's very good to me. Exhaust you can upgrade easily and I would get automatic if I wanted fast shifts. Too expensive and late on technology but very cool car.
Yeah they knew what parts to put where from their bin and what to modify. Why spend R&D money on suspension and exhaust components that are just going to get binned anyway by us tuners when instead they can use it to improve the chassis further and giving us a turbo motor from the get go so power mods are cheap and easy. AMS is getting really impressive numbers from these motors!
I like the retro styling overall on this car, kinda reminds me of when the the FJ Cruiser came out and how it looked different then everything else on the road because of it's retro roots. The Z looks mostly really really good, I honestly think the door handles look a little off though, like they just don't fit the rest of the body. The exhaust note is definitely a bit of a downer but I think Nissan is on the right path with this Z...
I'm in a border town right now. Quite a few people in their 20's can drive manual. Different culture I guess. Self sufficiency vs expecting everything to work for you.
I don’t mind the wired charging, the car still has apple car play and android, so you can use your screen as a phone.. one wrong turn and the wrong g force and you have a projectile flying into your forehead. As for horsepower, all in need to do is add a cold air intake and strait pipe it, can do that under 2k.
people making a big deal out of this car when technically it's a q60 red sport, no one really cared about the q60 but they add a Z badge and the world goes crazy
My boys at the Nissan dealer just offered me a metallic black with all black interior for 54, it was 72 and they knocked off 20 gs. I did just buy a new 23 Sr premium so maybe that’s why

Most sports cars are way more powerful than what public roads can handle. So, if you aren't going to track the car, spend more money on a car with capacity you can't use??? the front is going to have a huge aftermarket to fix the look. would be cool I'd they release an anniversary edition with datsun where the nissan logos are.
Whats the difference in acceleration between the 6spd manual and automatic? I know with the mustang GTs the automatic is actually noticeably faster than the manual version.
Im waiting for one to become available at the moment with a deposit down, because I think this is the end of an era for GT Sports cars. I can tell right away that some of the issues with the car's "spirit" will be resolved by the aftermarket, with Nismo already providing options that update the transmission, suspension, wheels and tires, exhaust and turbo heat exchanges. Development and aftermarket will be broad over time, just have to wait.
I wouldn’t mind spending 60k on this other than the fact that every flaw it has basically makes it a pointless purchase. It’s heavy, isn’t engaging, and isn’t overly luxurious. It isn’t overly hard core either, doesn’t sound great, and finds itself somewhat stuck in an odd spot where it’s competitor (the Supra) is basically a better car than it in every way. I haven’t seen any single one reviewer glow over any aspect of this vehicle other than the way the side view and back looks. Only reason logically anyone would get this is because they like Z’s of the past or because they like the price point better than the Supra yet no one would get it because it’s a top shelf mid tier sports car that provides any level of memorable experience, because it isn’t.
it's an ice car with a stick shift and an Ipad instead of real gauges. so yeah, it's DOA. Nissan did everything wrong that was possible to do wrong. either go full EV, or go full analogue and while you're at it, dont pretend like you're a premium brand now.

first to second seems to be an issue in the wrx as well... ive owned a 2017 and a 2020; they improved it a lot for the 2020 but its still noticeable. sucks to have to feel like you gotta compensate with your rev/clutch for the delay

That's all I am saying when you said no stick no rwd. Throw in a LSD, downpipe, tune and some suspension, wheels and tires and its pretty capable on its own. I plan on getting a Z though as I had a 350z before. But only when stealerships aren't marking them up.
Amazing videos. Your channel deserve more views. Keep up your great work.
Appreciate that
I backed out on a deal on this recently the mark up was 18,000 from MSRP even though the dealer previously agreed on 9k mark up. Oh wells Toyota Supra or z4 I’m On my way
Wow. Incredible review. You have a new fan from Guelph!
That’s what O love about my 2000 … shift as fast as you can from 1st to 2nd and it won’t disappoint you …
DAMN YOU MR. REVIEWER!!! As soon as you said it kind of looks like a grown up BRZ I cannot UNSEE IT!!!
Folks bitch bout Z cost cutting. At least it's pure jdm...Toyota cost cut by letting bmw do all the MAJOR work...smh.
43% of Nissan is owned by Renault and it shows. It's anything but pure jdm.
Is it the color gun metal?
The front end is fine. It just needs a more curvy grill opening. Or some side vents for brake cooling or something
The best thing about this sports car is its not a rebadged BMW lol😂😂😂😂😂
That's the worst thing about this car. I'll take a rebade BMW than a Nissan 😂
@@kobedabest rofl! Take it lol take all of it
@Thor Odin son like Nissan isn’t this car already had a few recalls overpriced garbage
Just needs a set of coilovers. Also, Nissan did a stop sale on the manuals due to synchro issues.
Gripes about a bunch of left out tech that just adds more weight to a sports car (struts for hood, wireless charging, cooled seats). All performance gripes will certainly be met with the Nismo version or easily addressed via aftermarket (which is what these cars are about, right?).
Be happy they are still offering a rwd 2 seater in 2023. I know I am. But I am still happy in my 370z Nismo. For now.
I like your video review. Most video reviews are mostly all positive and little negative. Your videos, in my opinion , are unbiased.
To me this is a perfect project car . It’s odd that I would leave a dealership and go straight to the garage and modify interior, exterior, motor - trans, exhaust. But I can see some serious potential. Someone is going to show the power from a big boy turbo and make this car hard to find. Thx for this detailed vid👍🏼
$60k for a project car that you'll replace half the car?
@@erickirshner2810 my thoughts exactly, even if i had that level of financial freedom, i still couldnt justify it. You want a project car? pay half that for a used c6 vette and blow the doors off it
This should be 35 to 40 g's, it's a paid for old chassis and engine, Nissan could of won alot of hearts by giving us a bone or a Ghosn. Hard pass on this car
The design of the chassis is old, but it has been modified so much that you would never be able to tell they are if you drive the Car. Manufacturers has been doing the same not only Nissan.
@@rivneo1 it should still be around 40k regardless
@@rivneo1 so how did bmw do the same, what models? because Nissan apparently now thinks they are BMW territory. 50 fuckin grand, get the fuck outta here.
yup, total rip off. Nissan makes shit cars, I would know, I've owned a g37 sedan, 370z, and a qx50. they were all garbage. the only nissan I have owned that I loved and got me into nissan was a 91 sentra se-r. best car I have ever owned to date.
I'm sure there will be many aftermarket tunes for this that will bring it more life, like with most turbo charged cars.
I really love the backend of this car I just can’t stand the front of these z’s so conflicted. I have heard these cars with aftermarket exhaust and the engine sounds awesome as well.
Truthfully I'm a Nissan lover but the price they asking for it, you have so many more better options available for less money
Definitely glad I got a Q60 over the Z. I think the Q 50/60 are going to be solid sleeper bases. Their tuner market has slowly been growing, and Z1 and AMS have been developing great parts
Looks so good in that color.
I'm 6'4... no way I fit in this car comfortably. I tried. I loved everything about it design wise other then that. Front end look's very good to me. Exhaust you can upgrade easily and I would get automatic if I wanted fast shifts. Too expensive and late on technology but very cool car.
My 370z is a blast to drive. I can't even imagine the new nissan z.
Great video, I think you can tell they’ve planned for people to modify it. I’m already planning what to do with mine 😅
It's always been quite on the Z exhaust, this is what aftermarket bolts on are for the Z
Even nissan sells a nismo exhaust through a dealer option
I like the retro styling overall on this car, kinda reminds me of when the the FJ Cruiser came out and how it looked different then everything else on the road because of it's retro roots. The Z looks mostly really really good, I honestly think the door handles look a little off though, like they just don't fit the rest of the body. The exhaust note is definitely a bit of a downer but I think Nissan is on the right path with this Z...
I've had a 300ZX, and a 350Z. I now have an 07 Cayman S but this new Z is the only car that could tempt me out of it....and tempting me it is.....
If this car had the sound of the 350z , I'd be all in
I'm in a border town right now. Quite a few people in their 20's can drive manual. Different culture I guess. Self sufficiency vs expecting everything to work for you.
Just to correct… The brakes are four piston front and 2 piston back.. 😊
This car is over priced and loses to all cars in its price range. Video over
I agree with you. Walk into a dealer here in Illinois these scumbag salesman up charge $25k.
Whats a better car?
@@lekikelekona9809 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 rspec
Nissan forgot how to make a sports car.
@@hauntedhose thats like the shittiest car 🤣
I don’t mind the wired charging, the car still has apple car play and android, so you can use your screen as a phone.. one wrong turn and the wrong g force and you have a projectile flying into your forehead. As for horsepower, all in need to do is add a cold air intake and strait pipe it, can do that under 2k.
Datsun 240/280Z was my dream car. Well it still is but this one is so much a legacy of the 280Z that is comes right behind x)
I wonder how that exhaust sounds with active noise cancellation turned off...
people making a big deal out of this car when technically it's a q60 red sport, no one really cared about the q60 but they add a Z badge and the world goes crazy
I agree but it just looks better
Supras a z4 and people are going craazy also...
My boys at the Nissan dealer just offered me a metallic black with all black interior for 54, it was 72 and they knocked off 20 gs. I did just buy a new 23 Sr premium so maybe that’s why
Good review my friend!!!!
Thanks Jamie!
@@ACCELER8TV You kept it real....that's all folks can ask for. Honset opinion with some scientific proof if needed. You nailed it. I been pushin a Z since 2013. 2013 base model then traded to 2014 Nismo. 13 was cool had 419rwhp...14 has 575rwhp and it feels cool....not anything special.....the Z just feels like its missing a few things. Price driven so I get it....but damn what a waste of a car that could be great. Nissan just didn't get it right....Again!
Finaly a grown up comfortable sports car!...Well done nissan 🙏👌
Most sports cars are way more powerful than what public roads can handle. So, if you aren't going to track the car, spend more money on a car with capacity you can't use??? The GR86 cost over $10k less, but still delivers 100% of the fun. (It's always funner to drive a slow car fast, than drive a fast car slow)....
Really? I don't think so. If you are just flooring it on the highway = boring. And if you are on the backroads, you aren't going anywhere near as fast as your car actually can.
they already have a Z going 9 seconds on quarter mile... 719whp stock internals with different turbos and exhaust
Tsk. I got mine in black thinking I'd hate the silver. I wasn't a fan of the other colors. The blue was ok, the red didn't do it for me, I personally strongly dislike the yellow... But seeing that Silver Z, it looks damn good and is making me regret the black paint.
It's funny you mention the 2nd gear notch. I have a 13 focus st and have the same thing where second is tight feeling while the rest of the gears are smoother
Genuine question, where do you get the budget for such high production value
We are a team at Acceler8 - Mike hosts / brings the car knowledge and Ian does the filming & editing. Not a budget - just two guys passionate about cars.
@@ACCELER8TV can't put a price on talent! 💪
That gunmetal color is sexy af ❤️
agree bro, it looks absolutely stunning!
Everyone knows when we get these cars we are NOT keeping them stock 😂
That color is so nice though!!!
Great review, accurate, intelligent.
I was looking for something thats loud. do you think a muffler upgrade or delete will help bring that sound out? would a 6'3" person fit in the thing?
Finally a review that is not simply a salesman pitch. Keep up the good work!
I had that same issue with 1st to 2nd shift in my Nismo 370z
The cost kills it
Very Professional review of a nice car ! Could you do a critical review of Subaru Impreza 2024 and focus on bringing back the MANUAL transmission PLEASE ?!
Where do you go to see one of these cars? No nissan dealer around me has one on the lot.
I see a lot of comments about performance upgrades for this car. I hope they realize the entire trend of engine upgrades will be over in 10 years
a very good base for tuning.
Still think Supra is better in terms of performance and looks, but z has greater value since it is cheaper
Nah I think Z looks betta...
@@richardsanders3750 this overpriced garbage. They threw on a 240 z body kit to pull in buyers
the supra is a fugly manga version of a z4, you need some glasses. it's blasphemy and doesnt deserve the supra tag.
what's for you isn't for everyone else. Who cares what u think. Quiet & smooth makes this a long trip cruiser w/room for drivers over 6' tall.
the front is going to have a huge aftermarket to fix the look. would be cool I'd they release an anniversary edition with datsun where the nissan logos are.
Whats the difference in acceleration between the 6spd manual and automatic? I know with the mustang GTs the automatic is actually noticeably faster than the manual version.
The headlights look like a 3rd gen Eclipse everyone hated.
Soooooo happy they changed the steering wheel. the old one looked cheaper than the one in the lada
Yes, that’s exactly what I think. It’s all an aftermarket play
that's why we buy a Nissan for 50 grand. To pay for aftermarket upgrades that should be included in the base model.
Already in Ontario? I never see it on the road ...
It's a press car from Nissan Canada. Not sure how many of them have been delivered to dealerships yet.
It's not the synchros, it's the transmission fluid.
Dump the OE fluid on the first day and put in what GM put into their Camaro manual transmission.
Nice looking car but why is it so slow 0-60 and why is it so expensive relative to other competitors?
We not even have them in europe 🥲 stil drive 2005 350z ❤️
Yes 🙌🏻
1st to 2nd in my 87 turbo was like that when it was new
I wouldn’t mind spending 60k on this other than the fact that every flaw it has basically makes it a pointless purchase.
Yup.
it's an ice car with a stick shift and an Ipad instead of real gauges. so yeah, it's DOA. Nissan did everything wrong that was possible to do wrong. either go full EV, or go full analogue and while you're at it, dont pretend like you're a premium brand now.
"Modern and Retro and it work in 2023" the fact that how Nissan make this car Retro and Modern at the same time, this is exactly how I feel about this car. Very good looking car.
What a great review!
Almost bought one last week. Past on it and bought a Supra instead.
Finally! Honesty about it!
The Z is on my radar as one of the possible cars I'm aiming to acquire as a personal goal but I'm concerned about the steering. I really want the feedback of traditional steering racks to get the feel of the road
Get a manual GR86. 2785lbs manual or 2830lbs auto. All raw emotions, LSD standard and no turbos that will faIL all for $28,000
first to second seems to be an issue in the wrx as well... ive owned a 2017 and a 2020; they improved it a lot for the 2020 but its still noticeable. sucks to have to feel like you gotta compensate with your rev/clutch for the delay
I am a huuuugggge Z fan. And I was soooooo excited about this. But honestly...it falls wayyy short of what I was expecting. For 60K you can get a lot more :/ And thats a shame because this was gonna be the first car Ive ever bought new. Twin turbo and it sounds like that??? Maybe you shouldn't have spent all your time on that ridiculous gas cap cover! But its cool...at least the manual seat adjustments are still in style...lol. And im just gonna throw this out there...and most of the sport cars fail at this..but what is the deal with the bottom of yallz cars? Like have you ever seen what a body kit does to a car? Why cant you give these sport cars a sexier bottom finish? Man I wanted one of these so bad. Loooong live the 240Z and the 94 300ZX Twin Turbo!
