Using vinegar with chalk paint to create a textured finish

- **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

I appreciate everything you post. I learn so much from you. A side note...Para educators are the best and my kids also had an IEP. They have come so far, I too would get emotional at the dedicated people in our school. Take care. ❤
You are SO patient with us, answering the same questions over and over. You are a natural teacher and we appreciate you so much!
Thank you is not enough for all that you put out. Beautiful work - continue being awesome. Blessings.
That’s a real teacher. What a blessing. 🙏🙏🦋
Brandy it sounds like u just need to remember UR THE ARTIST management will have to except nothing would be selling without u ladys.TALENT COMES AT A COST.IT SHOULD NEVER BE U.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR UR INSPIRATION UR CLASSES LOVE UR FAMILY.
Thank for all your tutorials. People who don’t paint or are new, don’t understand how much time goes into painting and embellishing a quality piece. I also don’t think they realize how many tutorials are available from a variety of artists. So to viewers, chill, try the techniques, practice and be patient. I save videos and revisit them when I want to try a new technique, such as this.
I love this technique Brandy and you made it very understandable. You are a brilliant artist and an excellent teacher. Thank you for taking time for us viewers. And viewers...chill, try, practice and perfect with your unique spin.
thank you so much Brandy! This is the first video I've watched and ended up subscribing. I learned so much from you. I can't wait to try this technique. What a beautiful piece. I love the colors you chose. I appreciate you taking the time to teach everything you have learned

Brandy, I've been watching you do your magical touch on your furniture pieces! You are an amazing lady, thank you for sharing you experiences and teaching us how to use different products. It has helped me/us to be courageous and just start playing and learning to create! I love how you and your husband are a team and how great of a mom you are!
That makes me soooo happy, thank you for the sweet note
Thanks to watching your videos I have finally sourced some Dixie belle paint, I have to get it via mail. Soo much easier to paint with. Thank you
I just gotta say I'm not a fan of the "drippy" look, however I just went over to your FB to see the finished product and OMG I love it!!! I will most def try this technique. Thank you for always sharing your artistic talent & "secrets" with us. So appreciated.
Beautiful work by a beautiful lady thank you for continually sharing your talents 🙏 🌸🌺🌸🌺
Hello. I have started following you not too long ago. And I'm on love with your style. I need something more then thank you to tell you how i feel and how much i appreciate your work and your effort you put in to make a video. I don't know how you do it. ❤️
And you are right water doesn't give this kind of drip. With water you get more of bigger drip vs what you did with vinegar it looks like tiny veins. And i loooooooove it. 😍😍 Can't wait to try this technique. So thank-you. 💐
I just watched this video, Brandy you are an amazing artist. I am inspired to try this, it is so awesome, thank you :)
Hermoso trabajo! voy a probar el vinagre. Gracias!
Love the technique you used. I looked for the follow up video or to see if you posted the finial pictures of this & couldn’t find it. I commented on another video yesterday & you responded that links to next video was up but Only on some of them. I would love to see the finial project done. I’m new follower of yours & am so impressed with all your techniques you use & creativity. Keep up the good work 💜
Your amazing thanks for your Video love watching them xx
I was wondering how vinegar would work. Thanks for the tutorial.
thanks Brandy, this really helps out alot i really love the look cant wait to try
This is like, my favorite technique now. It's like psychadelic Ikat.
That would make a gorgeous beachy look with coral and aqua.
Agreed!
I love all your techniques and really appreciate all the work you do. I was wondering what alcohol would do? Can you use it to do different finishes or textures?
Brandy, have you ever used that other paint that Dionne uses?
We will wait for you with ❤️
❤️❤️
😍😍
How do you take off chalk paint wax so a transfer can be applied?
Please show the final result
Thank You. Love it.

Bonjour
Hihihi
Merciiiii
Fabienne
I was just thinking how demanding it must get for you all. Yes, I wish you were my very own personal painting teacher, on every minute that I need you, but I have learned that uhh.., you have a family, a business, a life and I don't know maybe you would actually like to sleep sometime. I think you are right, people are hungry for content that is valuable and art changing. Please be patient with us too. We just think so much of you and your talent. VickiLynn
❤❤
Hi
I tried this after stripping back and so far they've had 3 coats and a beeswax/olive oil DIY wax but it looks terrible as the colours are all wrong so I want to try again.
Would you paint straight over this or sand right back or just paint over?
It's currently top blue, dark grey and pink and I want to change it to lazy linen top, denim blue and browny orange....
Thanks and really enjoy your videos.
You'd need to remove the wax before repainting
Don't worry about no makeup. We're in our underwear with no makeup too!
Thank you ! Wonderful creation ! 😍😍 La done ? Who is it ? Don' t be offended, I am foreign and I ' d like to know who Ladone is . Thank you ! Namaste ! 🙏
Here is her FB she is a dixie belle paint retailer. facebook.com/ladonsrecreations/
It reminds me of a cloud burst
Can you do this technique with silk paint
Silk doesn't react the same to water and vinegar
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What is the reason for wanting the drips?
It is a style, aged and industrial looking, a bit bohemian
Sorry but what is the purpose of vinegar. Thanks
It makes the paint separate and drip differently
You dont need makeup ;o)
