- In today's furniture flip, I repaired this broken MCM Chest! The top was ripped off and of course, there's a story to go with that one! So I gave it a go! This beat-up chest has been turned into a beautiful piece with years of life left in her! Enjoy the journey xx

The Hardware just FLOWS with the design!!!! LOVE the Green, but personally, I think I would have painted the Bottom Tannish/Brown. That's just me, of course. GREAT JOB!!!!

Ahhh client pieces are the BEST! It's stressful while working but the hope they love it and then getting to see when they do fall in love, sooo worth it. This turned out beautiful Sarah, tons of work/steps and you crushed it. 2 tone is so lovely 😍
Totally in touch with scaling back on videos. It adds so much to the process and then doing good work is more challenging. I recently did the same but had to kick down to 2/mo. We're self employed, we should be able to set whatever schedule works best for us, not an algorithm. 🥰

I bought a buffet half price at Goodwill for 20 dollars because the top was loose and the drawers were wonky thinking it would be worth the work of fixing. After Googling the drawers glides to figure out how they opened, I discovered that the top piece was held on with cam locks that just needed tightening. The drawer glide screws were also loose. Tightened everything up, put it back together, and after a good clean and polish it was done.

Although a commissioned piece can be a bit stressful it's a guaranteed sale and total validation for all your hard work. I do agree it requires a different mindset, it can limit some spontaneous creative options. Cutting back to 3 videos each month seems reasonable. Running a busy household, home schooling, operating your website, searching for/repurposing/selling your furniture, editing videos, etc - I don't know how you manage everything. (2 days ago it was 81⁰ or 82⁰ here, depending on which app I checked. I started out the door to do errands and realized I wasn't wearing pants! Thankfully I am only responsible for myself and at times I am not doing that very well. There's no denying it - I am definitely my dear Mother's daughter.)

It was a hard decision but I think the right one for now. Can always add the extra video back in when things settle down again.

Beautiful! One thing that I would like to point out if you are using Annie Sloan's lacquer. If you are using a dark paint you must use a gloss finish of some kind first. Then apply the matt finish. If you don't you will get a cloudy finish. Believe me! I ruined my entire piece and had to start over because no one told me and I didn't look it up. It has something to do with the flattening agents in her product. I was working on a dark red piece. So. Just to let you know.

Another lovely outcome! You work so hard on these pieces I hope people appreciate that. The door pulls worked out fine, short of searching the world for a matching pull, this worked out well. And anyone that complains about the pulls situation just need know that this is always reversible - matching hardware could eventually be found and re-installed, or new hardware could always be installed in the original set-up. It's like makeup - it's not permanent, so chill out lol

Don't feel badly about not getting started until week 2 of Feb - something I've noticed over the years watching youtube is that it is very common for youtubers to get a delayed start after Christmas. It's really interesting/strange, because most of my favorite channels have various unplanned delays/rocky starts getting going with videos in the new year. I post a comment like this on several channels every year, lol. It's such a strange, common phenomenon, I should look into it and see what's up with that.

I just noticed a video come up for the channel name of “vintage and painted”. It has your picture and is a short of a regular video that I thought was from you but just realized it’s the same channel name as this short. I know it’s been a problem for other channels where someone steals the content and even the picture so I wanted to check with you about it. Or maybe you changed your channel name, mentioned that in a video and my Swiss cheese brain doesn’t remember. 😣
This is me. I did change the name. I mentioned it in a post and will mention it in this Saturdays video. I wanted something that was more in line with what I do and Bo rage and painting answered that 🥰
