Bio: Wajahat S. Khan is an Emmy-nominated journalist and author reporting on Indo-Pacific security and focusing on the Af-Pak conflict. I have never completely understood why my father's generation who grew up in East Pakistan hated the Pak military so much. Even though just a few decades before they voted for the creation of pakistan.
In the last 1 year ive understood why? The Pakistani Generals and their egos need to be put in their places if Pakistan has any chance of survival. All the best to the Pakistanis who are struggling for a better country.
Even Bangladesh had right to independence, sadly corruption is there as well. It is a curse of Muslim nations, in spite of the fact our religion has so strong foundations for honesty and decency, Sadly in Pakistan we have inherited upper class that is totally corrupt, either we wipe out top 100K corrupt population in one fast cull, or hope and pray we survive from one crises to next for next 100 years before we educate enough of our people to live in worthwhile countries. If Pakistan, India, Bangladesh were corruption free decent countries to live in, why would so many of our countrymen go on living abroad.

There are proves that lavish life styles of these people have destroyed the economy of the country. 75 years of Authotarianism, looting, blackmailing, land grabbing, indiscipline, non accountability have destroyed all the institutions. Leadership problems can derail any organisation, a country is a big organisation. See Bangladesh reserves are at 50 billion dollars and no body is giving loans to beggars.

Fret not, the people know you are shining a light on facts and trying to start an open discourse. Question is, what are they trying to accomplish with these pressers and what did actually achieve? Did the people believe you? Did your support in the common man increase? Does it help in your ops? Gaslighting is not a strategic plan.
No one believes in them. They are only further degrading the reputation of army and this results in national embarrassment. They should move towards elections and reconciliation, not towards victim blaming the PTI
