There was a guy who was initially with Lashkar e Tayyaba and later became personal body guard of OBL. He later was taken as prisoner by CIA and was locked in Guantanamo Bay jail. He narrated a story that he was present with OBL in Tara Boora when it was heavily bombed in june 2004 (or 2006) and during this operation, OBL was killed abd that he was buried there. This man was interrogated by CIA in jail where he narrated this story. The rest if the story was stage managed by CIA and ISI bcz the US had to cover its failure with a succes mission. They were assisted by ISI . OBL was never killed as per Hamid Gul. He had divulged this immediately after Tara Boora incident. Wa Allah o Aalamo bil sawab .

This was indeed a watershed moment for Pakistan. It exposed the bluff that Pakistan was playing all along of hunting with the hounds and running with the hare. It simply took out all the winds of the geostartegic value of Pakistan. It brought down Pakistan totally in the eyes of US and that dried up funding from the US and also pushed US to have a favourable relation with India.
the US from the start of the WOT had better relations with india. osamas killing wasnt a pivotal moment which made the US favour india more
secondly,the US,NATO or even ISAF knew pakistan was assisting the taliban,as reported by US soldiers during the attack on tora bora
