Completely incorrect analysis by abdul basit. Pakistan army always played double game. Why would afghans have soft corner for pak army knowing where the drone attacks are coming from? You think they are fools or slaves of pakistan?
Pakistani military is too smart for its own good. Every strategic decision they have made has blown up in their face.
The generals need to sit down and have a long hard deep thought of how they have messed up. And with a open mind think of the solution (no more interference in politics).

Abdul Basit, the Singapore based researcher has got promoted from the Channel of Qamar Cheema to WSK. I like his humble demeanor and knowledge on the insurgency around the Af-Pak region. He is a good choice as an expert for this topic.

Great content. A few ideas for you to to consider:
1- Collaborate more with open minded and honest journalists from Pakistan. Maybe even consider opening a channel like how Vox had become (in English and Urdu). Pakistanis local and abroad need an honest view.
2- Educate about economy and law and the process of law. Consider having regular experts on law and economy that can help educate the public about policies around these subject matters.
3- Talk to more folks in India. Bring the two countries closer. Pakistan can never progress if Army always stays relevant i.e. because of the constant threat on in two largest borders. Maybe have Indian journalists and politicians more on the show.
We may have lost the voice of Imran Riaz Khan but we may have found our new maverick journalist.

If IK's illegal detention on bogus charges continues and the general public becomes despondent, I see a real danger that groups like the TTP and BLA will see an opportunity to take advantage of the doctrine: My enemy's enemy is my friend, and offer alliance to the public.
Dictator-general Netanyahu says he's not seen more disrespect for the military in 75 years. He's seen nothing yet of what could come if he stays on his crazed path.
If the public accepts alliance with such terror groups as the only way out of military's tyranny against them, then general im*becile, his collaborators and their men would be afraid to leave their barracks and protected areas.
History is laden with stories of such odd alliances for resistance against occupation which is what Pakistanis are now under at the hands of their military and its ISI goons.
History also tells me the declaration of such tacit alliances does not happen with news conferences but instead with spectacular events which will make the dictator and his cronies shake them in their boots.
Only that down this path the country will fall into a crevice it will never recover from..
May Allah have mercy on the people of Pakistan..

Brilliant but scary. Why is Establishment not looking at this so obvious writing on the wall. Its so baffling at the same time, heart breaking. World is moving on at break neck speed whilst we are still in the business of abduction, torture, imprisonment, destroying institutions, grabbing more & more power, filing false cases. In particular targeting women children & what little is left of businesses. My heart bleeds. May Allah SWT have mercy on us. In the end, it's about the lack of credibility of Pak military establishment through crackdown on popular political movements. Honestly, I am also doubtful about the role of ISI in promoting terrorism because it makes a case for more power to military by stoking fear in common people.
