You want posterchild hydras,@@MerlynMusicman? Play Broodwar. Zerg in the time of SC2 has adapted to anti-hydra tactics. The SC2 Queen was the new poster child. Then it became some Lovecraftian horror from some other dimension, by the end of Legacy of the Void, IMO.

@hm09235nd great word. Hydras closely resemble but for copyright purposes are distinct from some Tyranid unit in a tabletop war game called Warhammer 40K.

Ferls good to see a Terran saying that drops are Imba. It would be way better if the overlords could cure the hydras.

This ravenger play reminded me of Harstem, Reynor, and Serral talking about why they build things, and harstem saying he opens oracle nearly every time because it counters so much and more or less forces standard play.
I’ve been working on perfecting a ling/ravager timing, it works really well with Erik’s 15/15 double gas trick opener. Hits at 5 mins with 6 ravagers and 24 lings, except you can afford to get to 2 base saturation with a third base down before the timing lands so you can macro after. The ravagers are amazing at quickly sniping the 3rd base then you’re just ahead and can easily transition to ling/bane/hydra

You should do the, only use one type of unit to beat a GM, but this time with protoss and zerg.
I'm really happy they're trying to patch Hydras to make them viable again. I always loved that unit even back from SC1 🙌🏻

Would it work better if you build Evo chamber and Hydra Den at the front wall in the natural to make it look like Hydra Timing, so opponent doesn't make a spire, and follow that up with Swarm Host play?
What about a Zerg expansion prevention strat: hatch block their natural, queen drops to put creep on other bases. Force them to one base you or take expansions suuuuper late.
I legit do this all the time against T. My standard play is a queen roach drop, if they smash it down I take my queens in the drop and creep all their expansions
You should do a defence only to grandmaster series with every race
Mass Hydra was always my go to in Brood War, 9 macro hatches, all hydra, A-move, REPEAT
Did I miss some changes on the hydra ? The most recent patch says they reduced cost and time of upgrades but were there some changes prior to that ?
One quick question... when dropping from a moving overlord he is individually clicking "Drop All" on each overlord and then just moving them as a group apparently... I was under the assumption you have to hit "Drop" for each individual unit multiple times.... ?

Channel your inner zerg. Evolve :D. yea its annoying but there is a solution. start watching at 30 seconds or so into the video and tap backwards a couple of times until you see the logo and watch from there ;).
Gonna have to add my voice to the 'don't like intro' crowd, watching your games without spoilers is more enjoyable. :)
You might consider putting a spore or two by the nydus if the only unit he will have to kill it are mutas. If you consider the time and cost to rebuild nydus it might be worth the drone plus 75. One spore and a couple of queens should be able to defend it for a while at least. That is until he sends other kinds of units to kill it which you might be able to kill with SH and queens.

16:15, I have played 2 base hydra agression ( not with dropper lords but usually to deny my third while taking a 3/4 and going lurkers) and I find it a very imba play style, I feel like I should be ahead as terran, but I just slowly lose and eventually everything is covered in creep/lurkers and I just cant keep ravens/scans available to do anything about it.
Is it possible to make like overloards hover them over your army and make it difficult for the opponent to target specific units under them like is that a thing? I really dont star craft just a random thought I had.

That last game was amazing.. it shows how much macro has to do with this game, someone can just get annihilated fight after fight and still be hanging almost even just by being up 2 bases.

might do ravagers and try to not lose a single unit... hmm... can you burrow ravagers? i don't know if you can or not but if so I'm thinking that would almost be a mandatory upgrade
Suggestion: Anything with Vipers, I can't recollect ever seeing you use them?? But I don't know what the challenge would actually be with a unit that just abducts?

@@Deto128 upgrades are cheaper/faster I know that
@@Deto128 Overlord got a move speed buff, plus the research times got 7 seconds faster for speed and most importantly 21 seconds!! faster on the range upgrade. Hyrdas with range are deadly.

The third map Alcyon LE seem to be twice darker than it should be.
thats why in first starcraft u allways have to scout ur enemy. leak of info lead to suddent drop.

Can't overlords drop creep? And queens could heal on the creep- could be a good strat. Especially with mass dropper-lords.
@@forevergogo yeah, I was thinking either creep-drop and heal etc., or nydus to get the queens into place, drop a tumour and then they can heal to heck

Surprise attacks with burrowed zerglings is some of the most fun you can have with Zerg. Gorilla warfare
the amount of brainpower you save not spreading creep keeps your micro sharp, a worthy trade off

I think 1 base Queen/Swarmhost rush could be used in the no units lost challenge
Locusts are considered are counted as a unit lost in a post game statistics as far as I know therefore I think swarmhosts will be the most useless unit in that series
@@aleksandrssprogis8895i am pretty sure you are just plain wrong on this. Locust cost 0 ressources and is counted as attack and not a unit, it wouldn’t make sense that your units lost would be in the thousands whenever you build swarmlords or broodlords, it would completely ruin any useful data you could get from those statistics if that was the case.

Loving the vids Uthermal, now as much as ever, and perhaps extra because of the new patch hype!
I think you still read all the comments and like to hear feedback on our viewing experiences, so I wanted to let you know I'm not a fan of the new(ish) intros where we see a glimpse/highlight of the episode to come right away. For me it often takes away from the experience of viewing the game, because the short clip I see at the beginning tells me a lot about what happens in the game itself, so find myself less excited about what is happening in the game leading up to this point. I know for example (dunno which vid this was) that the enemy all-in is not scary because the follow up counter that created the highlight shows me you must have survived easily. I don't know the impact the preview has on your viewership and respect that you will make choices that work well for you, but as a viewer I noticed this effect it had on me and thought I would let you know.

it might seam tedious but is not really.. you are about to watch a 35 minute video it is a worthy investment :D. should not take more than 10 or 20 seconds at most to setup.
As for what it does for him.. I imagine it increases the viewer retention.
Small price to pay for us regular viewers for him to be doing better.

And he's also the person to go to for playthroughs of SC2 campaign mods.
He had been working on speed-runs but they aren't panning out top tier yet. But man, his videos are awesome. The "real scale" zerg is downright terrifying
