At this point is it even cheese? It's so unbelievably complicated and as mentioned, drunken, that I don't think this is cheese anymore. If it is, call it parmigiano reggiano.
The spore crawler to the swarm: Should I make myself useful? The swarm: Yes, go scout across the map. The spore crawler: But what if a liberator comes? The swarm: Go scout, I tell you!
I know a lot of channels never post when they lose but I think its cool to do it because it kinda adds to the tension of how close some of the games are, you never know if you're watching a win or a loss. Good stuff
I honestly love that your content is so popular with people who don't even play or who are beginners that you have to explain extractor trick. Never would I have guessed that the audience would be so wide, but it really is wonderful.
Honestly I'm gonna have to see what he's talking about with the game in front of me(I'm not home watching this) because when you cancel a build you lose the drone entirely so I'm just confused about how he's going net positive with drones in this exchange 🤔 😅
@@zul4455 When a zerg cancels a building they get the drone back. So, the extractor trick (you can do it with any building but you want to lose as few resources as possible) is where you have say 16 supply. Then you build 1 or 2 extractors. This will reduce your supply to either 15 or 14. Then you can build 1-2 drones. Taking you back to 16 supply. Then you cancel the extractors and can now have up to 18 supply. This is the same way that you can get over 200 supply as zerg.
@@Ctenoid ah but only for the extractor,I see, and when he mentioned the spine crawler abort for additional roaches during that meta being the purpose for its patch; makes sense now. Not afraid to look a lil dumb & just wasn't getting it.. Lolol.

I enjoy watching your videos on the daily and if you're ever feeling down just know that there are a bunch of us out here who care a lot about how much of a legend you are. Thank you for the entertainment and thank you for the positivity.
I used your technique from a previous video of keeping banes at home so I can use my speedlings for scouting and pickoffs and it's improved my gameplay significantly. Thanks!
I haven't played SC2 ladder since the first season of Wings of Liberty, but I'm totally addicted to the channel (along with your second channel). I feel like I'm smiling after every game. Thanks so much for all the content Marc, keep it up buddy!
I have been playing starcraft 2 since it came out, mostly custom games since I was a kid and that interested me the most. I love taking your strats to ladder when casually playing with my friends in 3v3 it's been fun thank you uThermal
Terrific guide, thank you! I found the benchmark timings and the adaptations that you suggested to be particularly helpful, so I can track my progress and adjust accordingly.
As a pleb the only thing I could offer is you can definitely walk the SW closer to the enemy's base before launching to get maximum damage done. Dang that was actually super close he was out of money and if you have a little more anti air he runs out of interceptors :D Love your positive energy during every minute of the games.
I feel in the last game, the nidus should have been used to transfer a drone (with the 1st nidus) and expend to a corner base rather fast. A bit more eco would have allowed for more spores and stuff
Guy wasnt salty he was just sad. He didnt say anything BM. 'I'm pretty supprised he's gone for carriers'---All those dirty dirty cannon rusher protoss clowns go for DT/carriers.
Your channel is really entertaining. Sadly I stopped playing ladder myself after my second child was born, but for now your channel is scratching my SC2 ladder itch.
I have a variation of this build that works wonders on maps requiring 3 buildings to wall off: it's 15 hatch and 15 pool (both are faster), but the gas is delayed (17) and I pop 8 zerglings when the pool finishes.
Those first two games *chef's kiss* 30:00: Watching a Shield Battery try to save a building from Locusts is brutally hilarious xD 33:10: That said, leaving the Battery alive for the whole game is not a great plan ;p Ooof; that pylon barely surviving hurts. 35:35: Brooo, losing all those Hosts for nothing is SO bad =O Going for the Nexus earlier would have done the trick. Or making more anti-air. Or expanding... ever. But very entertaining, nonetheless!
At 13:00, that last larva, if you had made a drone out of it instead of lings, you could have started another hatch right there. The opponent might have just rage quit in sheer frustration at that point.
dude i love your Zerg and Protoss Cheeses, it feels like you really have to make smart choices to make it work, as opposed to just outclassing your opponent.
Swarms are the worst unit ever, but locusts do have some ridiculous dps, and have decent range. Mines and turrets counter them, although they will draw tank fire when they land. I always wanted to try to work a handfull of them in, scouting and harassing, but the high supply snd long cooldown is prohibitive, infestors are better ground and aa support imo. Continuously spawning swarms were nice, though completely nerfed by carpet mines, which simply rolled in and evaporated your army and all your workers, should you be so foolish as not to make infestors. Lurkers are better st zoning, and do adequate damage to static for example, roach hydra on top adds dps and blocking, confusing target fire, broodlings trigger mines and draw ff, which doesn't show up in your score I don't think, but acts as a force multplyer if the Terran fails to unsiege. Anyway, salute to thermy, aka "swarmy", forcing everyone to recognize they been playing the Zerg all wrong, and his commitment to playing the cheesiest Zerg imaginable, though I think a hydra\infestor switch might have saved the game, the sneaky Protoss air turtle!
I'm not sure on the latest releases, correct me if I'm wrong. It seems the extractor tricks arent usefull unless you go for a speedlings allin. (some guys made the math)
It has been frowned upon, slows your build a little, but it speeds up your tech: you can grab your nat before p can block, or get faster pool and queens, Zerg is usually behind on workers till around 40 or so anyway, but earlier Queens are better defensively and economically. That Queen\Swarm was epic!
Man I love cheese but for next challenge I'd love some more macro oriented builds like zerg spellcasters to GM or smtn like that. Anyway, nice video and saludos desde México :)
That last game was cool! I thought you were going to pull the Vibe cannon rush defense of rushing lair and making a dropper lord to evacuate the drones from the main while rushing into mutas 😅
Hmmm trying to deep dive 26:55? So second overlord was delayed by the extractor trick 25:08. But next... Oh! The overlord didn't scout the natural, that's a tough one feelsbadman
In game 3 really feel like thermy should have expanded once he took out the cannons at his natural. With the extra economy, production and queens he probably could have won that game.
I think is more like a reference to WinterStarcraft's joke about queens being old ladies who are sad cuz they cannot fly no more like they used to in broodwar
Hi, noob question here I noticed that alot of his opponent has the IIIIIIIIII ign, is that a common ign or same opponent? Sorry havent played SC2 for about 12 years lol
Thermy's Zerg is like a drunken master. Very powerful, very flexible, very drunk lol
Very well said 😂
That is true in a very deep sense
At this point is it even cheese? It's so unbelievably complicated and as mentioned, drunken, that I don't think this is cheese anymore. If it is, call it parmigiano reggiano.

ah yes, the "ling drop into the roach, muta, spinecrawler, 5 muta, nydus attack". Standard gameplay.

That's what I kept thinking this whole episode. Where are the opponent's air units?
For your next swarm host cheese against Terran you should see if you can make them rage quit with just supply blocks LOL

Double extractor trick into hatch first pool lair long drop cheese into 5muta roach double nydus, yes, the greatest build order of all time

Challenge. Purple Haze. Creep aggressively, and defend it with extreme prejudice.
You should def place creep tumors when you nydus with your queens near their bases though. It'll take someone like protoss forever to clean up.

12-13 pool into swarm hostes from one base really powerful cheese

I think you could pull off "nidus / swarm upgraded zergling rush" nidus required for attacks.
