I love both Maru and Scarlett and these were very interesting and fun matches and is a good example of why you may not want to underestimate your opponent.
I don’t know his name but the non-Tasteless commentator is excellent. He seems like he reads the game incredibly well and his commentary is sharp. And he still allows space for those Tasteless grounding points of emphasis that remind us of the incredible skill of the pros.
@@kommisar.don’t get me wrong, nobody can replace TASTOSIS. But this new caster was a pro player and his analysis is much in depth compare to Artosis. Artosis is incredible in broodwar but not sc2.

I actually dont even play or follow sc2, but i watch and enjoy your videos because your editing and curating is done so well it makes it easy for anyone to watch.

I'm a Maru fanboys but these games were just joy to see, Scarlett really deserved both of those wins and it wasn't just Maru making mistakes but she was forcing his errors really well. Scarlett definitely isn't at the skill level where you can fooll around and expect to win. And first game wasn't even trying to be funky, Maru was very slowly, methodically outplayed outside of the initial edge.
@@andrzejnadgirl2029From what i hear, Maru was under the weather and not playing at his best performance. He did these silly aggro builds knowing they might fail. This isn't to take anything away from Scarlett. She's incredible, and improving dramatically.

My friend Rain (his clan gamer tag, not the BW pro) was the guy who started OnSyde Gaming, so I often hear the official news about the players: who is sick, who is coming and going, who is mad at who, and whatever else. Lol. Hopefully Maru is feeling better for Dreamhack and ready to kick some ass in December!
I mean, I don't think Scarlett was the favorite going into this Bo3. Both are phenomenal players, but just by virtue of his achievements in pro SC2, I think most viewers and Maru himself considered him to be the more likely winner. That's not meant as an insult to Scarlett, I think Tasteless was trying to just be objective, and to some people it came off as... tasteless.
They arent wrong though lol? With how stacked Zerg is who is Scarlett supposed to be better than? You have Serral, Reynor and Dark? Ragnarok had more recent success than Scarlett recently. Starcraft is a really difficult game and how many GSL titles or deep runs Scarlett has? She is one of the best players in the world and can upset the "Gods" like Maru for sure. But once people start taking you seriously and specifically targetting you with "cheese" or out of the box builds from Stalking your pub games and then win those games consistently you can only be considered one of the "Gods". Scarlett has my respect for being a long running pro and not shoving the whole "transition"/queer thing like Glty or loud and annoying like Sonic Fox. Unfortunately She never peaked as the best player. Best Zerg maybe for a month or two but Serral exists in that same time frame.
Thats a little of my life story: i have problems with eating ( i dont like doing it at all ) so i started watching some stuff in order to distract myself while i eat and now everytime i see new videos on your channel my body gets really hungry. Watched A LOT of your videos and will watch every you will have in the future. Thanks for letting me watch my favourite game and have pleasure eating stuff while i do it.

Free to play and actually player base is still really healthy. You can find fun games against players of any skill level. You won't be playing as good as on this highlights but it's still really fun!
Zerg looks like it still has the advantage in the early game, the mid game, and the late game against Terran and Protoss, but at least it can lose to...uh...

some might say other pro names and call them the best terran but for me maru win or lose will always be the best terran ever. He just doesn't play defensive he is always on the offense and that what makes him special 😁😁😁

He won his 8th GSL literally a couple months ago. He was just not feeling great this tournament. It happens. He shows no signs of slowing down overall.
Maru is my favorite player in all of "SC2" and I'll never root against him, but it was nice to see Scarlett play so well in this group (well, most of it anyway). I feel like I haven't seen him get a significant win in months.
Fungal still quite ridiculously OP in my opinion though, mainly due to the fact that, unlike with other AEO spells, you can cast another one for a guaranteed hit and kill the entire group of targets. They should have at least taken away Infestor burrow movement.

That is ridiculous and you can make all the ghosts you want. It is launched from range. That is ridiculous, no matter how much balance. make the terrans always come out stronger they are the favorite son MMM is OP no one dares to touch one of those 3 units that killed this game
The balance patch is a joke where the protos were left in a bad position once again, the units are simply garbage, they need to change the colossus and disruptor, garbage units
Cyclenes are best versus Protoss IMHO. They are too slow to be aggressive versus good Zerg with creep spread and if you only want to clean creep then why pay extra, hellion would do just fine as well.
@@andrzejnadgirl2029 They might replace the Thor as the Muta counter. You can build 3 of them for the same price as a Thor, plus not have to switch the Tech Lab over. I'm just guessing here though. I have trouble imagining the ass Cyclone build as making it in the long-term meta.
He says Hotkey’d, as in they’re not assigned to the key that she uses to control her army. So when she thinks she’s selecting all of her units, she is missing all those lings.

You just upgrade ling bane and slap on a fungal and hope for the best. Late game roaches means you’ve lost. Brood lord, ultras, even the spell casters are all hard countered by ghosts.
2 bases terran do a rush against 4 bases zerg... zerg loose tone of queen and just build tone of zerlings to defend. What a hell with the balance in this game? Isn't suppose attacking side have an advantage in army?? zerg must lose all money in investment in bases and workers
You are definitely looking with your eyes closed then. The zerg doesn’t care about unit losses if it gets to keep bases, its units are easy to replace. Economic damage absolutely fucks that and Maru got none either game. He needed to commit more on the scv pull, he need to not leave half his army in prime fungal formation on the edge of zerg territory, we need to tech up and add more tanks/a few marauders and ghosts or more libs. He needed to trade out the hellbats game 1 and press that third harder but he was only positioning on the low ground, he needed to pick a high ground to keep vision on as the surrounds kinda just dunked him. Marus a WAY better player than me, but it’s clear to see this wasn’t his best series.

I couldn’t see any major mistakes by Terran, yet each time Zerg ends up crushing him after taking severe losses.
2 seconds of not paying attention to the fungal and that was GG. Crazy how one mistake like that leads to an overwhelming shift in momentum.
