    my disk showed up from southwest disk while i was watching this video. i am so stoked. i got the 22 inch roswell with the legs so i could use it on a camp fire and was hoping that i could use it on my fire pit but wasnt sure if the legs would fit in the fire pit. i put the legs on it and it sits perfectly in the fire pit and leave more that enough room under it to have a nice fire and be able to tend to it. tonight we are having chicken street tacos on the Discada.

    Man that dish looks great. I'm trying to rationalize buying a plow disc instead of a flat griddle. Two things turn me off a little with the plow disc and a breakfast dish like this. 1 - moving things to the side and having them drift back into the heat was a little frustrating to watch. 2 - My wife and I like over-easy eggs and it seems difficult to do on a disc versus a griddle or a frying pan on the stove. The shape of the pan pushes them all together.

    • @Armadillopepper
      @Armadillopepper  2 роки тому

      Definitely pros and cons with each. I have a griddle also. Can't deep fry with it and the disk is more conducive to having friends gather around while cooking. Especially when doing stuffing fajitas, etc. With my griddle it is easier to move things away from the heat and the stay.

    Ahhh, a breakfast fit for a coronary, but mighty tasty. I'd throw in a couple buttermilk biscuits or couple pancakes too. I'd eat this, but only once or twice a month. I'd eat it more, but, you know, gotta watch my weight since I'm not out pokin' cows anymore. Thanks Jeff.

    It looks to me like that unit might work even better if the disc portion had less of a coned area and a nearly horizontal flare around the top. Cook in the bottom, drain on the steep slope, and then drag up top to the flare where it would stay out of the way and be easier to serve. Just an observation. Those hashbrowns looked especially good. My wife might like the eggs (depending on how spicy they come out), but I don't eat distinguishable eggs - though I cook with them.

    • @Armadillopepper
      @Armadillopepper  6 років тому +1

      Hey Ken, I think you are referring to a Mexican Wok. They have the flat piece around the edge just like you mentioned.

    • @handcannon1388
      @handcannon1388 6 років тому

      I didn't know that they were already available, but it does seem like it would be easier not to have a food avalanche every couple minutes while you cook.

      Disco = disc. They originated by sealing the hole in a farm plow (plough in UK) disc. (That go round and round tilling the earth)
      Handles frequently welded on. In South Africa they are called skottles. In the US: cowboy wok.

    How do you clean the disc, soap and water?
    Thank you.
    Pete

    • @Armadillopepper
      @Armadillopepper  6 років тому +1

      Hey Pete, Clean it similar to a cast iron skillet. Rag or sponge to wipe it down. For stubborn stuff, I add some water and heat it up. I do have to be careful here in FL. With all of the humidity, it has gotten a little rust sitting on my back porch, but I was able to clean that off.
