Hello all, while it’s still a viable rune farming (without jumping out of the map yielding 472947397384936 runes every hour /s) location, the nerfs to flame of the redmanes make the guardians a bit harder to kill. The dmg is no longer as strong as in the video while it casts slower as well. The guardians also move faster than you and they tend to move sideways more often.. makes it easier from them to hit you.
I always farmed them vulgar militia outside the bestiary and by the bridge. They’re spread out for the most part so you can face them one on one. They pause at the end of their routes for easy opportunities to back stab. A critical even at low levels can do half damage and they’re slow to begin attacking after the get up making it easy to kind of stun lock them with consecutive hits until they die. And they’re worth 1094 per kill. It may not be as efficient as either of the above methods, but it gets you used to back stabs and stealth, that’s for sure. That's my favorite place to farm for Runes To, the sword dance Asha war is really good for the area and knocks them on their ass and if done right can kill them in two hits.
This is what i did, i found and just kept using it. Could rack up 14k per min if you plan your route without getting off your horse too. Just beat the game today, did not feel hard. It just felt good getting easy runes so i would just do it while i waited for something irl, say like my wife getting ready lol instead of waiting 20 mins sitting around i would just farm.
Thanks for the video, the Impassable Bridge in Caelid is also a great farm place. Just gallop through the enemies and they'll kill themselves in around 5 minutes giving you 6 to 8 k runes. Make sure to bring in all the dogs up the path.
Excellent vid!! On a side note, I had fun pitting the dogs and crows against the soldiers by the site of grace close to where the Flame of Redmanes ash of ruin is. Neither enemy can catch torrent and they agro each other
This guide is 100% well done. It has the maps and locations mentioned and shows the methods of farming provided step by step, locations of enemies, and tips as well. Absolutely splendid. Thank you so much.
Thanks man! I heard about the bird farming but then found out there's a bunch of other things I need to do first. I just been grinding near the Beast master guy near the dragon bridge, fighting those little guys with the sickles for 1000 per kill.
That's exactly what I prefer to farm. Can rip through 20 of them in about 4 to 5 minutes and then rinse repeat. They're easy as hell to kill unless they are grouped up or they get a couple lucky shots off. Sometimes they'll even kill you with one quick combo if you let them, but usually I slay them without much difficulty.
@@RonnieMyers777 I have no idea how to get to the birds. You're talking about that area where they shoot a bird across this wide gap and the bird runs off the cliff to it's death? Out of dozens of ruin videos; this was the most honest and correct way to farm efficiently that didn't require cheating. (Jumping off oblivion for ruins) This is exactly what I was looking for to farm. I subscribed. Thanks bro from a fellow UA-camr 🤙
Step 1: Grab the morning star from Weeping Peninsula, every starting class can weild it. Step 2: Grab the Golden Foul Foot from the beach in Limgrave (use the lound spout to jump from the starting point) Step 3: Use the warp to Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, ride south to where Greyoll is, use the morning star (it inflicts bleed) to kill Greyoll. Use the foup foot right before to boost rune gain. Congrats, you just saved yourself a few hours of setup and tedious grinding.
Tips for the ball drop hack if its not working for you: 1.you have to be standing on a set of rocks , its straight ahead. Or else the ball won't appear. 2. The ball is trying to KILL YOU, it will speed up right before impact, you may die the first 1 or 2 tries but once you lock it in it can actually help your timing. 3. You HAVE to be lookin at the ball when it falls off the cliff or atleast in the direction

And started at 45 from the dragon (look that up if you dont kmow what im talkkng about). Its a non glitch

Its a hard game, but keeps me coming back..i want to have as much fun and enjoyment as soo many other people are,and look forward to that, thanks to the guide!! Will update after i give it a go later!! Thanks heaps..Rock On Mate!!
Just killed the black knight today. It wasn't patched. As stated you have to keep him close and dont sprint unless you have to. He will respawn in the middle of the bridge. But if you get him to the top of the hill he will die quickly for 40k runes.
Checkout all the comments about this. Not patched. If you are experiencing him teleporting away then you aren't staying close enough to him, or you aren't bringing him all the way to the top of the hill. You won't see any poison damage happen to him, he will just immediately die.
Man, that is a helpfull thing. I doesn`t farm normaly, but i`m a melee and need some stats for a sword and a bit magic. Up this hill is a perfect location. Thank you!
I like Caelid Ruins also...nets an average 5k or 6k per run through. The enemies are easy; small ones give 25, tall ones are 81, and the three "battle tanks" give over 1600. For low level players, I would avoid the tanks. But the enemies don't slap at you or anything like that, instead they chase you and blow themselves up after a short jog. Edit: I've even gotten as much as 13k with the occasional 9k boost.
I like the impassible greatbridge for a similar amount. - between 6 & 9k a run, lots of redmane gear, and if the doggos & birbs scare you, lead them to the soldiers and let them do the killing for you. (Gets TONS faster at ~25 int with the glintstone arc) My favorite "I hate re-starting" run is from the 1st Caelid waypoint, grab a dog or two on the way to the ruins (it's an extra 1K if the doggos die to the exploding fire skeletons, and if they don't they go home pretty early). Now run from the ruins to where the invisible scarab gave you redmane's stomp & lead the doggos there into the soldiers (the soldiers distract the doggos, the doggos distract the soldiers, and you carefully murder all of them). Next you stroll (VERY RAPIDLY) past the shrimp-man pest thread things on the way to the ruined greatbridge - repeating the "doggos and soldiers fight, *I* win" recipe. Total between 12 & 30K per run, 3-5 minutes if you are just running for the rest points, 20 or so minutes if you can make the run without getting distracted (It can be REALLY slow if you get hung up on fighting the crows) Discovered the run entirely by accident - trying to rush for the blessed dew talisman, but went to the wrong tower (no teleporter to scary boss here)
The flame thrower tanks are pretty easy to kill if you sneak up on them for a backstab, though I don't understand how our characters aren't allowed to pull the pilots out lmao
I farm the four little dudes west of the Farum Greatbridge site of grace, south of the Bestial Sanctum (and north of the farming area in this video). They drop about the same as the guys in this video but are way easier and safer to kill. Can get about 4-5k runes in less than a minute on horseback if you use the Lightning Spear incantation (damage is buffed by the constant rain there) and then fast travel back to the Grace. Might not get as many runes in the same amount of time, but it’s easier to learn and much safer. I usually get at least 12 faith on my characters so I can use Bestial Vitality and Cleanse, so all you need is the faith talisman to be able to use lightning spear.
There are a lot more than 4. I use that area as my go to when I need to top off runes to level up, or just farming. I can get 1300 per enemy with the golden scarab. Going from memory there are about 24 of them scattered all over to the left and right area in front of the bestial sanctum but before the bridge. So can be 30K+ in about 5 minutes depending on how efficient you are. They have a wicked range attack and if there are more than one together it can get intense. But they are pretty dumb and won't aggro if they dont see you attack their friend.
@@robunderwood8214 I just kill the four because they are the easiest to spot and kill in the quickest amount of time. They’re also on flat unobstructed ground vs the others who are in the hills with all sorts of stuff getting in the way.
Honestly a good video, I feel like a lot of elden ring content is repetitive and the game is massive enough that people sacrifice their personality in order to get that info out there like some wiki pages and not actual humans with a UA-cam channel. But that didn't happen at all here and you genuinely made me laugh out loud in like the first two minutes so good job 😂❤
I just wanted to say thank you for mentioning the part about not losing your ashes of War when you change them. On my first playthrough I held on to those things forever thinking they were consumables and that when I used one the one on it would be lost forever
thanks for this - my strength is nowhere near 40 (20) so I was having a bit of a struggle with this technique at first, getting wiped out quite quickly with poison damage. But my +5 bloodhound fang does quite a bit of damage to them. I found the run to be quicker then the one with the vulgar militia, though considerably more dangerous - I imagine long term this will be the method I use and deffo work on that strength. I'm crap so being OP is the way to go for me - but first time Ive got anywhere near this progress with a Soulsesque game so any progress is good progress!
Fantastic guide TobyWan, I've just started playing and this is going to make life much easier for me. I immediately subscribed to the channel, thanks for posting. P.S love the Golem impression haha
I recently discovered this on my own, but in a slightly different way and you said to share so here goes... I only kill the first 3 then I reset back to the Grace. I only use my sword and nothing else, no flames, no magic, no ashes of war. The practice has made me a much better fighter and now I can do about 9,000 runes a minute. Not as good as 14,000/min but much better than dodging that giant ball.
This is the method I used to build my character. Before this I struggled to play this damned game, with a very low level like 10 to 15. Now, I am level 230 something. I do the bird and cliff dude run now in the under world. I appreciate the advice. Thanks Bro!
Great content man. I've seen the other "farm videos" and while I appreciate their content, I prefer actually fighting something for my rune. (Probably cause I suck at this game and need to practice) Perfect detailed guide.
You dont have to watch tha ball fall, as long as you make sure it goes down towards the pillar you get the full amount staying on youre horse speeds it up a bit as well
What a fantastic video!! Instructive and beneficial, detailed yet simple, and the additional editing/dialogue to add some humor... just, wow. Great job, sir, very well done!
Really inspiring to see a small creator doing good and having so much potential keep it up man. I hope that one day I’ll be as good as you 😂 keep it up bro
Thanks great guide! Probably a better farm for mid game or around lvl 80-100... For me at lvl 40, the first 3 guards is enough lol. Its a good practice. They hit hard
Probably not better in terms of runes per minute, but it’s pretty easy, at the “Farum great bridge” grace site In caelid, there are a ton of enemies with sickles and saws, sneak up behind them and sneak attack them, works well if you can one shot them, if you can’t, just hit them until the die, they can’t do anything to you as long as you keep up the combo, works really well with a friend because you can split up and take them all down
I like farming the dogs in Caelid up by one of the northern points. There's a shack with a grace in it right next to a merchant. I use the spell that hurls 3 rocks, and every second casting stuns the dogs, so it's easy to drop them before they get to you. With the golden scarab they are over 2k runes per shot, and there's tons of sheep around too if you are crafting arrows and need beast bones. I usually swing my flasks to all mana, and do a circuit that with 7 or 8 dogs gives me just shy of 20k runes in about 10 minutes.
Early game, killing the vulgar militia at greyolls dragon barrow works well… they’re super dangerous in groups but they stunlock easily… 50k runes per run, more with scarabs or foul foot boosts
LOL. Just a warning, this is now pretty heavily nerfed because flame of redmanes no longer staggers with 2 shots. I would suggest using a weapon like the bloodhound fang, which I have a video guide on.
My early game farm was the place where there are 5 giants. I just move around all of them and let them kill eachother and even if you get hurt. Everytime a giant dies they also give you 2 healths so you can't actually die there.
@@Cyberaser they don't, but if you run in circles they become close to eachother and hurt eachother while trying to hit you, to the point that they all will kill eachother and at the end one will be left with a very low health
if you have already beaten starscourge rhadan you can use the rememberance to get a blade with an ability that attracts enemies and makes a shockwave, i think this makes the method a little easier
Honestly I have never seen any other videos you’ve made but this was very helpful and funny it seems that no one else knows how to make a rune farm video that isn’t the giant chicken or dragon Thanks!
Ngl man I wasn't even considering subscribing because I'm just looking for what methods are out there right now but that bit with the Runebear, yeah here you go king.
just started playing the game, not very strong, i have to jump attack normal to kill em, but that ball rune farm was damn boring. This has helped me a ton, thank you.
Glad to hear! Yeah flame of the redmanes got nerfed, so it's gonna take a little more skill to do this farm, but that should increase the entertainment value :) haha
lazuli glintstone sword +4 and 37 int with the double crown helm and you can 3 shot them, do the true combo to stun them with the pebble. Having glint arc helps to hit multiple of them even it they dodge
Thanks man. Did another video where they wanted me to kill Margit right off the bat. The frustration nearly made me quit the game for good and I’m seeing a therapist as a result ;) (I did beat him in the end, however it wasn’t fun). Apart from the black knight, your video is excellent. Thank you!
Soooo I'm loving the method so far! I'm level 38 doing this, but when the black knight goes through the poison, he doesn't die immediately like how he did for you. When I go up the hill, he refreshes back on the bridge with the poison taking away health, but it's taking a long time to do it

I started my game by killing the idle dragon and dumping everything into strength and endurance in order to wield it. Now I can use this to balance my stats out a little bit. Especially since, ya know, after just defeating margit, it takes almost 11k runes for me to upgrade a single stat by one
Not began the farm yet, but about to start, after acquiring only the crest talisman, and cheesing the rider... But, already, I kust want to thank you for your beginner's details toward the end of the vid. EXTREMELY helpful and detailed. You got this help vid game LOCKED DOWN, BRO.
@@TobyWanShinobi Nah man, two shots with the drag and upper smash attack. The drag and then smash can hit multiple enemy’s, so a quick way of taking them out.
A couple things. The poison the knight trick was nerfed. However you can easily kill him by tricking him into jumping off the cliff. Look up videos on this. Secondly if you're new and you want to do the ball trick shown in this video, do not get of your horse, stay on your horse the entire time.
For me best farming spot is Zamor Ruins and there is 8 zamor knights, they give you 6000 runes or rare30000 (during night time there is chance for special knight, the same HP ,but 30000 runes) runes per kill. Three Full moon spells kill zamor knight, with some practice( calculate dodging areas of knight) is 1 run 4 minute max...and you get 50000-80000 or even 110000 runes...depends on these special knights. Ok,usually 50000,still nice deal.
Personal opinion honestly not much in this video has any correlation between each other I followed the guide and the only good thing really good was the hook “42,000 runes”. The redmanes is good don’t get me wrong but how do you expect ppl who are farming for runes to already have that much arcane this early on. no shade or anything just didn’t find it worth while although there is a farm outside the impassable bridge that’ll be more than worth your while. Just watch the soldiers outside the post fight the giant / monstrous dogs and it can be an easy 3-7k runes per run alongside with the fact that the soldiers drop Radahn gear.

Thank you MiL! I really appreciate the love. These guides take a lot of work to make
It could be cleaned up a bit. Timing a pause on map locations is like screenshotting that nude chick on Tik tok
Sometimes they'll
even kill you with one quick combo if you let them, but usually I slay them without much difficulty.
@@32rekt62 hey I finally got to the birds, totally worth it
@@RonnieMyers777 I have no idea how to get to the birds. You're talking about that area where they shoot a bird across this wide gap and the bird runs off the cliff to it's death? If so, can you maybe let me know how to get there? I guess I could just google it lol.. just don't know what it's called.
@@32rekt62 IIRC go to Rose Church (Liurnia Lakes) and there's a guy in a mask hiding around there who gives you "fingers" to duel ppl. Do 3 fights (win or lose) and go back to him, then the item he gives teleports you to the area. You'll be right next to a site of grace where the bird is. Its like 13k or 17k with gold fowl foot

Step 2: Grab the Golden Foul Foot from the beach in Limgrave (use the lound spout to jump from the starting point)
Step 3: Use the warp to Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, ride south to where Greyoll is, use the morning star (it inflicts bleed) to kill Greyoll. Use the foup foot right before to boost rune gain. Congrats, you just saved yourself a few hours of setup and tedious grinding.
I have been farming the dragon stuck behind the trees just on opposite path, your way is much better & fun. Thanks!
Tips for the ball drop hack if its not working for you:
1.you have to be standing on a set of rocks , its straight ahead.
Just farm at the beastial sanctum area. Those little dudes give you 1300 every time and there is about 25 of those guys in that area.
Me too.. though it seems slower than this because it’s all single target. At lower level I just back stabbed those little guys one by one.
This has been my go to farm.
@@robertkindel9676 true, but also less risk due to the fights being 1v1 because how spread out they are. No FP required, but you can use it if you want.

Thankyou for the vid,i hope to try this out later after work-i hopefully might make some progress! I've been grinding away for seems like an eternity, but am still on pitifully low levels. Its a hard game, but keeps me coming back..i want to have as much fun and enjoyment as soo many other people are,and look forward to that, thanks to the guide!! Will update after i give it a go later!! Thanks heaps..Rock On Mate!!
Rock on Sarge! Thanks for the comment :)

Just killed the black knight today. It wasn't patched. As stated you have to keep him close and dont sprint unless you have to. He will respawn in the middle of the bridge. But if you get him to the top of the hill he will die quickly for 40k runes.
Nah it’s patched
Checkout all the comments about this. Not patched. If you are experiencing him teleporting away then you aren't staying close enough to him, or you aren't bringing him all the way to the top of the hill. You won't see any poison damage happen to him, he will just immediately die.
@@TobyWanShinobi I’ve kept him right on my tail and taken him and high as he will follow about 10 times. Any other tips?
@@Mahtayoo maybe try right side or left side of trail. Exit game / quit it and restart?

Man, that is a helpfull thing.
I doesn`t farm normaly, but i`m a melee and need some stats for a sword and a bit magic.
Up this hill is a perfect location. Thank you!
Yes the Boulder falling off cliff board me quick
(Gets TONS faster at ~25 int with the glintstone arc)
My favorite "I hate re-starting" run is from the 1st Caelid waypoint, grab a dog or two on the way to the ruins (it's an extra 1K if the doggos die to the exploding fire skeletons, and if they don't they go home pretty early).
Total between 12 & 30K per run, 3-5 minutes if you are just running for the rest points, 20 or so minutes if you can make the run without getting distracted (It can be REALLY slow if you get hung up on fighting the crows)
Discovered the run entirely by accident - trying to rush for the blessed dew talisman, but went to the wrong tower (no teleporter to scary boss here)
Innnnnteresting. I'll have to try this one out. Thanks for the detailed "how to" !
The flame thrower tanks are pretty easy to kill if you sneak up on them for a backstab, though I don't understand how our characters aren't allowed to pull the pilots out lmao
The knights cavalry doesnt die to the poison anymore
Holy crap! Legit farm video! So tired of "look at the ball falling" farm videos :)
Same! Had to find something different haha
With Redmanes Flame patched too, this is not quite as cheesy anymore either. it takes longer but is doable, you just have to take them one by one.
I just wanted to say thank you for mentioning the part about not losing your ashes of War when you change them. On my first playthrough I held on to those things forever thinking they were consumables and that when I used one the one on it would be lost forever
Yeah I had that feeling for a bit when I first started playing, which is why I mention it :)
Thanks for commenting!
thanks for this - my strength is nowhere near 40 (20) so I was having a bit of a struggle with this technique at first, getting wiped out quite quickly with poison damage.
Happy to hear that! Best of luck tarnished.

Thanks brother! Glad to help you :)
The Dragonbarrow Fork rune farm was definitely my favourite and only faming method around my mid-game.
Nice! Yeah it's a great spot and the site of grace being so close makes it even better for farming without risk
Nice! I'm going to give it a try with my sword too

Great content man. I've seen the other "farm videos" and while I appreciate their content, I prefer actually fighting something for my rune. (Probably cause I suck at this game and need to practice) Perfect detailed guide.

Patch 1.08 seems to have busted this strategy.
Yes, unfortunately Flame of the Redmanes is no longer viable... you might try something like Bloodhound Fang instead (see my guide on that weapon)
Thank you very much!
Really inspiring to see a small creator doing good and having so much potential keep it up man. I hope that one day I’ll be as good as you 😂 keep it up bro
That's very kind of you. Thanks JMP!
Thanks great guide! Probably a better farm for mid game or around lvl 80-100... For me at lvl 40, the first 3 guards is enough lol. Its a good practice. They hit hard
Ikr
They really do when one's not levelled-up enough! Gotta be even more careful with a melee-focused character and avoiding being ganged up!
Probably not better in terms of runes per minute, but it’s pretty easy, at the “Farum great bridge” grace site In caelid, there are a ton of enemies with sickles and saws, sneak up behind them and sneak attack them, works well if you can one shot them, if you can’t, just hit them until the die, they can’t do anything to you as long as you keep up the combo, works really well with a friend because you can split up and take them all down
Yeah! I like that one a lot for a safer farm, just not as many runes per minute. Thanks!
@@TobyWanShinobi no problem👍
I like farming the dogs in Caelid up by one of the northern points. There's a shack with a grace in it right next to a merchant. I use the spell that hurls 3 rocks, and every second casting stuns the dogs, so it's easy to drop them before they get to you. With the golden scarab they are over 2k runes per shot, and there's tons of sheep around too if you are crafting arrows and need beast bones. I usually swing my flasks to all mana, and do a circuit that with 7 or 8 dogs gives me just shy of 20k runes in about 10 minutes.
That is a good one!
I appreciate your tips man! You deserve a lot more views. Keep up the good work! Cheers.
Thank you Reggie!

Early game, killing the vulgar militia at greyolls dragon barrow works well… they’re super dangerous in groups but they stunlock easily… 50k runes per run, more with scarabs or foul foot boosts
After the boos is poisoned do you have to make him teleport back to bridge and wait for him to die?
Im having a little trouble.
Edit: They patched it.
You don't have to beat any boss.
You don't have travel far.
You don't have to do any quests.
You don't even have to buy the game to do this.
ME: Nice
Unless they squash you... You can always die in this game...
@@zap0918 keep dodging and stay alive :)
@@obaid.mohiuddin I'm trying, friend! :)
Those giants dont attack each other?!?
@@Cyberaser they don't, but if you run in circles they become close to eachother and hurt eachother while trying to hit you, to the point that they all will kill eachother and at the end one will be left with a very low health
if you have already beaten starscourge rhadan you can use the rememberance to get a blade with an ability that attracts enemies and makes a shockwave, i think this makes the method a little easier

Another great way to do this quickly is use a horse and greatsword. Ride past these enemys and use the heavy attack while on the horse.
You aren't 1-shotting them that way, are you?
@@TobyWanShinobi Nah man, two shots with the drag and upper smash attack. The drag and then smash can hit multiple enemy’s, so a quick way of taking them out.
A couple things. The poison the knight trick was nerfed. However you can easily kill him by tricking him into jumping off the cliff. Look up videos on this. Secondly if you're new and you want to do the ball trick shown in this video, do not get of your horse, stay on your horse the entire time.
I love the guide it's super in depth, the ony thing mising is either timestamps or the chapter names for those who have already gotten to the places.
It does have time stamps and chapter names :)
Thanks for the guide. I've been looking for a solid rune farm and this is it.
No problem Fredy! Glad you liked it 👍
Thanks a lot for those. But yeah the Black Knight didn't die when I did that part. I don't know what I did wrong but I I followed step by step

Say it with me; "ROONS" And then; "LEM-GRAVE".
Over 50 hours in and I don't even have the fire of Redmanes yet. Guess that's next.
It's an awesome ash of war!
Just watch the soldiers outside the post fight the giant / monstrous dogs and it can be an easy 3-7k runes per run alongside with the fact that the soldiers drop Radahn gear.
thanks so much! (you made me doubt my sanity saying 'ruin' instead if 'rune' but I'll forgive you lol)
