So I was wrong about the amount of runes the dragon drops (I didn't notice it gives you 25k more shortly after its death). This means you get 75k default..so with the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot that should be upwards of 97.5k..and there's also a "Gold Scarab" talisman you can get that can boosts rune acquisition even more (thanks to Landon Cube for posting this below): "You can get it by following the top trail from limgrave leading into caelid. Follow it until you get up to the birdsviewscope then follow the fire wall upwards till you get to the valley. Drop down the branches and there's an easy boss that gives you the gold medallion"
What should I do if u accidentally ate the golden foot ?? And do u have to rest at grace and then do it again ?? And I know ur probably working on them but are u gonna do a deep lore video or videos like u did for sekiro
It’s amazing! Most tutorials I’ve seen they don’t even have the maps uncovered and makes it super difficult to follow - this is a master class in how to make an effective tutorial
I always try to let people know about the amazing rune farming spot up in northeast Caelid Just gotta use the portal D tells you about, use the shrine and outside that temple past the uberboss is a bunch of tiny pygmies that give 1000 runes each, they hit hard but die fast, you can make 30/40000 every 10 minutes or so
After watching vid after vid I've decided I don't Waka just run thru the map and never come back to places etc etc so now I know this gs exist, good enough. Remade, 2nd char 10 hrs in, feeling much stronger. This is the way
The dragon doesn’t ruin any quest lines, it is actually just an optional puzzle boss! You are supposed to kill the baby dragons near it to lower its health, but you can just cheese it with bleed damage.
@@krakentowa8727 You need to use a weapon with bleed, the flail is a good one. Also not all spots on its tail have a hitbox, you need to shuffle around a bit until you find a spot that works
Another good way of cheesing this is to use gravity spells. Two hits of rock sling will stagger the dragons so you can get in close for a critical attack. Do that 2-3 times and they die. Takes less than a minute per dragon.
something else that should be added to this: on the western side of the liurnia lake is a downed caravan surrounded by red jellyfish, in that wrecked caravan is the jellyfish shield that not only has a attack buff, but is a greatshield that has a lower stat requirement than any other greatshield, yet still has the greatshield ability to bounce off most attacks that hit it. its also a 100% phys block shield.
I think my favorite part of this guide is that the front end gives off big heist movie energy. There’s several tiny steps that end up paying out huge dividends, you’re specifically working smarter and not harder, there’s a lot of moving quickly instead of getting bogged down with fights, etc. Even if this weren’t the most informative guide I’ve seen online it would make up for it by being endlessly entertaining for that choice of tone alone :)
Finally deep enough into the game where I can watch elden ring videos without fearing spoilers, love your videos vaati! Can't wait for more lore videos about bosses etc
I understand that, I work 50+ hours a week as a GM of a popular restaurant. So I’m progressing slow as well, but what a fun game. Wish the summon cooperation worked better…….seems real touch and go.
@@happyChappy96621 Don't even get me started on him skipping the entire secret path to Liurnia, or even worse, how, when showing the path to the Grand Lift of Dectus, he literally just said "go north, then northwest" while showing the map for LESS THAN A SECOND & not saying at all that the time between "go north" then "go northwest" was over 15 minutes of travel on Torrent to get to the gravestones you drop down. I was tearing my hair out trying to scour every edge of every cliff, not understanding why my game landmarks weren't matching up to his. & yes, I saw the X on the map, but his X marks aren't very accurate, & don't specify when you have to climb a cliff. The amount of times I almost got there, only to realize I was at the bottom of some cliff, made me so frustrated I nearly cried, & I'm a 31 year old father. He also lied about needing 21 Mind to summon Lhutiel, so I grinded my level up to 20 before I realized I could already summon him with FP to spare. You only need Mind 18, not Mind 21. But my main point was the fade between "go north" then "go northwest" skipping a HUGE section of the path with a ton of crucial details. I felt like someone was pranking me from how frustrating it was. I probably rewound that one spot 50 times trying to glimpse the split second map icon he showed that is zoomed WAY out & isn't easily matched with the in-game map, especially since he already has the actual map uncovered & if you're following the guide, you won't. I love Vaati but he really screwed some folks over with this one, especially since it's intended for NEW players, not people seasoned with the details already.
At 9:46 when you kill the big dragon (as soon as you see it twitch), rush on horseback immediately to the nearby grace and rest there. You still get the runes (sans the hearts), BUT the dragon will respawn, allowing you to kill it again for 50k runes.
I really enjoy this more laid back vibe compared to the typical heavy, dense videos. I love those too! But seeing you mix it up a bit is really, really fun as well. I think I just like your content, huh.
That's good to hear! I've definitely started doing this "narrate as I go" style a bit more, which has helped me produce some types of video a bit faster. Next one should be more scripted though
This illustrates one of the absolute coolest things about Elden Ring for me; the overwhelming freedom to make a playthrough completely personal to the player. The only time I've felt this way about a From game was the way to tackle bosses in DS1, but ER takes it to an entirely new level. Relating to this specific path itself, I'm way too far along to right now to do anything in the order specified. But if there are any new players who're just seeing this video for the first time, I'd highly recommend not following this guide 1:1 but use it more as a vague guide for now and forge your own path for your first playthrough. Experiment with broken shit all you want after, but as much as you can, follow your gut the first time around is something I'd highly recommend.
Honestly, this isn't broken, but just a good path. Most people would take more than two hours to follow that path. A lvl 12 weapon will help for a while but it's not broken. Getting the sword of night and flame and getting it to +5 in about 1 to two hours, that's broken (you can two-shot Margit with it).
It's a masterpiece of open design to be honest. Every other open world game, literally every other one of a similar scale, either uses randomized systemized loot to level out rewards along with level scaling, or they turn the rewards into resources that you spend. Elden Ring fills the world with genuine unique rewards that will shape your entire character and adventure, all with zero scaling. It's honestly a mind boggling achievement. It already happened to me that I encountered a major boss and found it easy due my build and journey, went online and googled that boss, only to find dozens of threads where people are salty at it and can't beat it, meanwhile I had a lot of trouble on bosses with "weak foe" messages around them. Incredible emergent balance.
@@steel5897 Everything I have ever wanted in a game sense I was a kid. I hate how the leveling is in the witcher. I was able to get my flamberge and horn bow super early. This is what dragons dogma should have been if capcom had actually finished it.
Yeah i let everything be fresh and i am so glad that i did. I cant tell you how many fantastic encounters or spectacles blew me away all because they were first hand experiences.
I spent my first 2 hours going after the tree sentinel. After finally beating it, I found out it was a “mount fight”. I rolled and fused into trees and rocks (steam) the. Refunded the game cause fuck that noise.
there is a blacksmith on the left side of the map in Liurnia Lake that sells sombering stones 1,2, infinitely and he also has three 3,4 sombering stones. The Waypoint is called Road To The Manor. also hoarfrost stomp is further ahead of this blacksmith and is pretty damn OP weapon art.
@@prawngravy18 I got to this place through a portal which took me to the area just south of the giant blacksmith and then I used torrent to jump around the wall to the site of grace. You don't need anything other than a horse and I'm not even sure you actually need that to get over there.
@@Cyphu (WITHOUT SPOILING) he isn’t mandatory for the storyline but he’s connected to the witch female who gives you the spirit calling bell at the start of the game and she’s very important for a side quest and secret ending he infinitely sells somber stones 1 and 2 like previously mentioned which is pretty helpful
Just started elden ring a couple weeks ago and have been avoiding videos and spoilers like the plague, glad to finally be able to hear the golden voiced lore master again, as always, outstanding video Vaati!!!
I love how this game genuinely allows you to take any approach you want to it's challenges. Becoming OP early is an option, provided you know how to pull it off.
@@ghosthost2033 broken as weapon. Including the Gargoyle blackblade granted if you wanna try cheesing it early game. basically gives you immortality and one hit potential.
@@marclenraymagdaraog691 Gargoyle Blackblade, where I cam find it, I surely have found that weapon in my already completed, now Guts enthusiast, build, but I don't recall what mofo I have to kill to earn it.
I'm level 50 and was sure to have thoroughly completed Limgrave, Stormhill, etc and yet Vati shows me in a beginners guide things I do not have discovered!!!!!!
Another tip, goto your multiplayer tab, put SEEKERS in one of the group password spots. It's Vaati's group (he mentions it in his 15 MORE essential discoveries video), and anytime someone in the group becomes Elden Lord, you get a 5% rune buff for awhile. I've had 100% uptime on it since I joined. With that, and the item he mentioned in the video, i got over 100k runes from killing the dragon. Not sure exact number, cause I forgot to note down my runes before dragon died, but I had 105k after and I certainly didn't have more than 2-3k on me before. I did NOT have the Gold Scarab mentioned in his pinned comment either, as the 'easy' boss is in a dungeon that applies passive scarlet rot and a low lvl character just dies in 10 seconds. If you're actually new to the game like I was, ignore that tip, just follow the video instructions. I wasted 30 mins running around Caelid to find out I couldn't get it, tho now I've got some grace points there for later, at least.
15:23 If you talked to both and unlocked her as spirit tuner you can acutally teleport to the shack you first met her and there will be a golden seed there on the ground.
Another thing to note is that you can give her an item found in the castle when she is still at the shack. Doing so will give you access to her red hood if you return to the place you originally found said key item later. If you kill godrick before giving her the item she will not accept it and you cannot get her red hood iirc.
@@DarksydePhilip Actually, the red hood appeared for me in place of the quest object as she had (unbeknowst to me at the time) already moved, I didn't manage her quest before she left but still got the golden seed an hood, so now I really don't worry about failing quests. Elden Ring seems much more forgiving of that than previous FromSoft games. I also found the seemster in Limgrave (the one disguised as a tree) only after having beaten Godrick and explored half of Lurnia and most of Caelid (for some reason I prefer the horrible poison swamp to the watery ruins, don't know why...)
I recommend getting the gold scarab before killing the great dragon. You can get it by following the top trail from limgrave leading into caelid. Follow it until you get up to the birdsviewscope then follow the fire wall upwards till you get to the valley. Drop down the branches and there's an easy boss that gives you the gold medallion Also next to the elder dragon you can get another free 40k souls by going on the trail to the left of the grace point then run down all the poison traps. Activate the horserider slowly run up the poison trails and he'll die
@Recjawjind the Sunbro \[T]/ it's basically ontop of a site of grace and you can run through everything in the cave with out fighting, i had no problem doing this on my level 20 fresh character im making for pvp
Huge hint you forgot to mention. In chapter 3, you mention killing a dragon (9:13) in Northeastern Cailid, but *you can farm him indefinitely if u follow these steps* . So first, make sure to grab the Fort Faroth grace, which should be by his tail. Go to the point on the dragon's tail closest to this grace. Keep hitting him with bloodloss weapons until he is almost dead, then mount torrent to finish him off. He is stationary until he dies and will begin to move. The second his death animation begins (he will begin to move), sprint on torrent (make sure to save some stamina when attacking) back to the grace, dismount, and rest at the grace. You have roughly 10 seconds for the animation to complete. You will get 50,000 runes and the dragon will still be there after you leave the grace for repeated farming!
Theres actually 3 sacred tears you can get in weeping peninsula. Just east of the Morne Tunnel cave (right in the center of weeping peninsula on the map in the video) you can see a circular plateau with some buildings on it (the red pathing goes around the east and north side of it in the video, in case you don't know what plateau im referring to). It would seem like you can't get up there, but in the ravine where the entrance to the Morne Tunnel is located, there is a one of those torrent jumps boost things that you can use to get you just to the edge of the plateau allowing for you to find another church and sacred tear. The name of the church is Callu Baptismal Church. I hope this helps, it was very hard trying to explain this with words lol.
Why I love this channel is the amazing information that makes this game so much more enjoyable and saves so much time. I’m a 41 Year old father three and I really don’t have time to play Elden Ring but because of videos like this I actually can. Thank you brother
I hear you mate! Turning 40 this year and I was like "I don't have time to play this game at all"... but with these tips and tricks we can optimize our time. I bought the game yesterday and will play at the pace I can, but these tips are gold!
@@vinylexplorer9817 Heck yeah brother. This guy from down under is legit. Storytelling on another level. Plus so helpful for us who don’t have the time
You can kill the dragon multiple times in Co-op. Just did this with my friend, I summoned him first and we killed the dragon in my world got our runes. He summoned me, repeat, ended with ~189k runes. Have fun!
@@thefatalsythe hmmm, the chicken guide I saw didn't say anything about that, it looked like all you needed was a longbow and a bunch of arrows, and you could run there without fighting anything, it was just tricky to get to the grace as you had to dodge alot of enemies
@@nicosand86 yes farming the chicken doesn't require much and getting to that site of grace is relatively easy but you first need to get an item that teleports you to that area and to do that you need to be roughly in the mid game
I'm not good at this game. I really enjoy the exploring, but would always feel severely underpowered almost everywhere I went. So in the end I found myself exploring even as far as Altus Plateau while skipping bosses and fleeing from most enemies I'd find. This guide has been tremendously useful. Now I can finally go back to the beginning and actually fight. I was getting tired of entering caves and dungeons with such a small attacking power the whole experience was more frustration than fun. Thank you very much. Your guides and lore videos are making me enjoy this game far more than I would if I just explored blindly without understanding most things.
When you are at the farun great bridge, dont cross it just yet. Turn around and go rigth (east), there you find more of those small guys, and a bunch of poison traps, run past them and across the smaller bridge. There you find a rolling boulder trap that gives 2k souls when they roll off the edge. Then at sit at the bonfire untill night, then you see a mini boss on the bridge you just crossed, now ride up to him and agro him, and make him chase you upp the poison trap area, and just keep running, at some point you will get the foe killed message and 40k-ish souls, as well as the realy usefull bloodhound step weapon art.
There is an easier cheese to kill cavalier, if you walk just a little bit outside the bridge and lure him to the left just a little and then rush back unto the bridge again, he will get stuck inside the railings and, after some jumping trying to reach you, he will fall off to the abyss to his death
@@miorioff Dunno if it's easier, with poison traps u can kill him within 10-15 seconds (You simply run past him, run as fast towards poison traps, he step on them, you keep running, after few seconds there will be information that "boss has been defeated" (Or run away?, don't remember) but you will get souls etc. So no more than 15 s and he is dead that way :D
Just another little addition here for an amazing early game shield. On the cliffs directly above the tombsward catacombs there is a ledge you can drop to with a few of the tenticle monsters. From this ledge you can look down again and see another platform to drop to with a corpse. On the corpse is the eclipse crest heater shield. It's a medium sized shield with a 100 percent block and it comes with no skill as the weapon art.
For Weeping Peninsula area, prior arriving to Tombsward area/Site of Grace (Wandering Mausoleum area), you can visit a church around a frenzied village just by the forest of Weeping Peninsula to earn an extra Sacred Tears.
I’m loving these hints that are pushing me towards a quest line that I otherwise wouldn’t find, all without giving anything away. Cheers man, you are the best at fromsoftware videos
Concise but excellent. I followed your guide and now have the 10 Flasks, the + 12 weapon, the ability to craft the fire and blood grease and everything you promised. You do great work !!!
Vaatividya, you’re by far my favourite UA-cam channel. From your lore videos, to secrets, to collectible runs like this, you nail absolutely everything. I’ve been watching for many years and will continue to do so. Also, side note, my fiancé said she absolutely loves listening to your lore videos, and doesn’t even play FromSoft titles haha. Thanks for everything dude.
I pretty much come to UA-cam for this dude and a couple others but every morning I love watching his videos. I'm not even good at these games or have gotten very far in any FromSoftware game. I love the lore and his candor and just how freaking interesting it all is.
An additional note: when you take the teleporter to Caelid prior to the rune farm, there is a site of grace just to the left of the bridge before you travel over it. This is south from where you teleport in.
There is a ladder where the Big rat is at 11:19. I went to the fort first, collected items and ran out and then killed the dragon. I had like only 5000 runes before killing dragon, After killing him i got 110K+ runes! I was shocked! Just used one Gold Pickled Fowl Foot before killing the dragon. Thank you for the video!
Just wanted to say that you can have 96K runes instead of having "only" 55K when killing the dragon, it is better to use the golden chicken buff the second after its death; the dragon takes a very long time to die which leaves plenty of time to use the rune boost ! In your video you have "only" 55K runes when killing it, because you activated it too early ( because when you activate it, we see the icon under your stamina bar, and when you kill it you no longer have it, but maybe i'm wrong !) The chicken boost effect lasts 3min, you probably missed the timing :/ I got 96K runes using the paw 1 second after killing the dragon! Hope it helps :)
When I did my first co-op run with my friend, I never understood why he got 96k and I only got 55k... I thought the chicken feet last for 3 minutes or something... I'm almost to the dragon. I'll try your method and let you guys know if I'm getting 96k this time.
I should note that for the Crystarian, you can stun them with a high poise damage weapon (ex. a Zweihander) to do a followup attack, which appears to remove all of their resistances to damage.
I really enjoy you putting out videos that only tackle early/mid-ish game content, so all of us who haven't finished and are a good chunk into the game can watch content without fear of being spoiled
@@Saint-XIV even people who don't want spoilers still want to watch content about this game. Vaati makes content that is spoiler free. Why should we just not watch the video? Silly comment, from you.

"People can't want what they want" dude get out of here with that nonsense, people CAN be particular about their needs, nothing wrong with that.
I used to love planning routes in Dark Souls to get certain items early and sequence breaking. Elden Ring takes all of that to the next level. The various methods of teleporting to new far away areas quickly really add a lot of depth to the game.
I just tried recording an Elden Ring video myself and.. wow.. I don't know how you eloquently create these beautiful guides so well! I just want to say how much I respect the obvious hard work you put into covering a game I'm sure you also enjoy very much, so the balance between work and play must be stressful at times. You're a blessing :)
So I just did this along with getting the golden scarab and using the gold-pickled fowl foot and I received 115891 runes. This is epic! Thanks for the tip.
I'm not inept at rpgs, but this game had me walking around with a club and speedo for 4 hours! I found your guide around hour 10, and it has helped me immensely, I appreciate it how well done it is! Thank you!
Mate, I have never heard of your channel before, but this is one of the highest quality gaming videos I’ve ever seen. So informative and professional. Well done.
Got to level 35 on my own, went around the whole map looking for all the grace sites I could find, barely worked on any bosses, this video's timing is perfect. Thanks, Vaati.
I only just got this game this month and pretty much all the stuff here is still relevant. An additional tip if you want extra fashion and more goodies: rush for Murkwater Cave not too far from Limgrave Tunnel and run through to grab all the moss to make the anti-poison stuff later. Same deal as the bloodrose, it respawns right by the grace so yay for infinite ezmode farming. Anyways at the end, beat up Patches until he becomes a merchant for even more gold fowl foot and Margit's Shackle. Follow this vid as normal until you go up the Dectus lift and when you get those 4 golden seeds back to back, keep going eastward through the battlegrounds until you find a random staircase in the side of the cliffs, go up until you see a door that leads to another dungeon. Run past the chariots and dip into the safe zones DS2 style until you get to a huge ramp with two of them. Run to the first safespot, use Margit's shackle, then dip back out so a 3rd chariot spawns, they all go boom, and you get the Tree Sentinel armor. Admittedly it's super heavy but you should be able to wear at least 2 pieces if you got the Soreseal he mentioned earlier and honestly just looks cool, so yay for early fashion souls. You can probably mix and match pieces of it with the two sets he suggested. Hope that helps.
This is such an amazing guide. I'm having a tough time and I really don't have a lot of time each week to smash my head against bosses for hours, but it also doesn't totally break the game or take away the satisfaction of tailoring my build. Thanks!
Out of respect of lore I will stop at chapter 6 I feel like this is the perfect amount of content to help players fully understand the game and how critical it is to dodge or block and the timings for it.
I'm 38 hours in and haven't even entered stormveil, there's a massive amount of stuff to explore in limgrave and weeping peninsula. This game is packed with content I love it
Fun fact if you don't know, you can get to the area beyond Stormveil Castle without beating Godrick by going north from the Stormveil Shack. Takes you to Liurnia and I was able to get a +6 weapon before Stormveil it was awesome
@@madmanvarietyshow9605 yeah I know about that route but thank you. I'm sort of a completionist and I've been clearing every dungeon and finding almost all the items I can in the open world of limgrave and the peninsula, it's crazy how many good items are tucked away just in these two locations
Gonna be honest i'm never gonna do any of this but it's just so calming to hear you explain things. I did the huge dragon thing it actually was pretty usefull
Just an FYI for the big dragon. The intended way to kill it is to kill the smaller dragons around it. Each dragon you kill will do a big chunk of damage to the big dragon, so I don't believe there's any questline revolving around it.
Oh I thought that's what that was. When I killed him I noticed how the dragons would scream whenever I'd done another large chunk of his health, and the ones with red eyes had disappeared afterwards. By now I also heard the dragons are a good lategame farming method if you keep the big one alive, but that may or may not have a replacement already.
@@luminous2585 there's one that involves helping others with a certain boss in dragonbarrow cave. Watched my friend do it fairly frequently and each kill rewarded him with 16k souls. Later on in the game you also have normal mobs rewarding like 5k a kill.

This guide was absolutely fantastic, I love the freedom this game lets you experience! I’ve only just beat Godrick but I’m level 45 after beating that gigantic dragon, and it’s been really fun to actually follow along with the guide as I play, too! I think that having some sort of linear progression is actually rather fun, so something like this allowed me to experience a ton of the world and truly see, as you put it, the majesty of this game. Truly a great guide, cheers!
Something that might help a bit with the Crystalian boss: you can backstab them! It's very handy for interrupting their attacks and leaving them vulnerable to a big charged-up R2 swingy once they get up again, and it also seems to help build up some kind of posture damage that eventually makes their defences crumble.
You forgot to mention, because u prob did not know, that you can farm the big dragon over and over. If you reach the grace before his death animation is complete, he will respawn. I farmed that guy until I have like 350k runes, and that was at the very beginning of the game. Gained like 50 levels. .
@@DiRT3ers best place to farm anyway is the bird in Moghs realm. All you got to do is kill Godrick, invade 3 times, and then you speak to Varre again. Without buffs, you gain 11k per kill, and it takes a couple of seconds. All u need is a bow. The farmingspot is called Palace Approach ledge-road
I struggled early on taking samurai and never been a fan of the bow but once I found the twinblade + bloody slash and Lhutel the Headless ashes my entire game flipped 180 and all of a sudden it carried me through 3 great rune bosses and multiple areas/quests. Highly recommend to anyone having issues, bleed build-up at 93 at +9 with some arcane stats. Every 2 light bops is a bleed proc on most things, if not 3 hits and even highly resistant things bleed after 5-6 hits. Even without upgrades the art of war gave abnormally high bleed on it compared to other weapons I had access to.
Might I suggest seeing what happens if you add on bloodflame blade onto the weapon? considering it adds some extra bleed buildup after every slash, it might take down the bleed proc to consistently be 2 hits or even less?
Y’all need to like these videos. So much effort. And so much meticulous information. Nothing more, and nothing less then what is needed. Every video is a true masterpiece
I have a few additions to make: 1. There is a golden foot near the bridge east of the northern Agheel Lake North-grace. 2. When you are collecting smoldering butterflies at the farming spot you point out, you should travel a little further to pikc up the Lance-Talisman. It boosts attacks on horseback. 3. Near the Tree Avatar in Weeping Peninsula is a nice shield, the Exlipse Crest Heater Shield. It comes with 100% physical, good stability and no-skill. 4. Also, when in Mistwood Ruins, sneak past the bear downstairs to grab the Axe-Talisman, which boosts charged attack damage. Here comes number 5,free of charge: I personally recommend doing getting the sewing equipment for Broc, since changing your clothing is a really sweet addition to the game. Otherwise a very solide guide, keep up the Lords work! Umbasa.
3: to get the shield you have to jump off the ledge from the tree avatars plateu, on the western side. you land on a few pillars to get down, and then you're right next to a grace.
Holy moly this is the most condensed and comprehensive guide for leveling characters I've seen so far, helped me so much even though I'm already in Lucaria
Hey guys, in the Abandoned Cave where the Golden Scarab is, remind yourself to take a dagger with you so you can use the weapon art "Quickstep" to quickly get out of the difficult terrain (a Trick learned from Vaati in DS3) and thus avoid scarlet rot poisoning Also the Persistent healing of the Flask of Wondrous Physic counters the rot pretty well but not perfectly
In Chapter 6 (16:13) you can skip the first part. Just travel west from Raya Lucaria Chrystal Tunnel. There is a spiritspring, that brings you up to the East Raya Lucaria Gate immediately. Regarding the Somber Smithing Stones (19:06) you don't need the first two Somberstonebellbearings, because you can buy Somberstones 1-4 from Iji the Giantblacksmith in the Northwest of Liurnia. You can ride there or use the Teleporter in the Gazebo south-east of the Gate Town North Grace
Out of all channels related to Elden Ring, yours is truly one of a kind, i ventured far ahead in the game but watching this is just so, so relaxing like you somehow could be a NPC in Elden Ring. Much love! Can't wait for the lore of the Elden Ring.
If you want to get even more runes whilst you’re in the area of killing the dragon. There’s a Night Calvary on a bridge near the sanctum. Kite him up through the northern path from the bridge where there’s a bunch of poison traps (be wary as he will one shot you at this point and you can’t run too far ahead of him or else he’ll lose aggro). Hit these traps on your way up, and by the top of the path he’ll have died, netting you 40k runes. So you could, in theory, start the game with about 130k runes total. Very balanced. lol
@@Ababb21 Turns out it's not actually the poison that kills him but rather a bug that makes him respawn besides the cliff, causing him to fall to his death. Apparently they already patched it out at this point.
From have purposefully made the game balancing - if they put in difficulty settings people would go mental, this way most will just assume magic or weapons or doing a certain thing out of the norm is broken/op - its to give a wider audience the option of playing the game = more money. They're not stupid.
It's kinda funny since if you get those hundred thousand runes early on, you can get a rare weapon upgraded to plus 5 early game with hardly any effort and bring your stats up to use it. Depending on which rare weapon, you can be cruising through Margott and Godrick, which nets you another few thousand runes too.
I spent some time running around caelid panicking as I got chased by big birds and dogs and a dragon...and at one point I got a enemy felled thing. Guessing I managed to do this accidentally 🙃
A wonderful guide. Got Elden Ring a couple weeks ago, been playing mostly blind until then. After killing Margit, I decided to see what I could still do in Limgrave. Turns out, quite a lot! Found the Ashes vendor and Summonwater before really going for this guide, and encountering the Bell Bearing Hunter was a shock. Went in with a STR or Quality build in mind, so going through to Ch. 5 hasn't been too bad, though I took some detours. Think I'm gonna go through Stormveil now though. Again, thanks a bunch!

Without doubt Vaati makes fantastic, brilliantly thought out From Soft content. Just hearing his soothing voice makes me want to go back to a game that I just rage quit 5 minutes ago. Please do more Elden ring lore videos too they enrich the playing experience so very much.
Two things I might add to Chapter 3: 1. There is a third sacred seal in a church in the "Ailing Village", which is reached by going on the north side of the western rampart near the "Castle Morne Rampart" bonfire. 2. The turtle shield is worth mentioning since it is just one quick jump up the wind jump thingy near that same bonfire. This ALSO puts you in position to grab the memory stone from the nearby Rise, if you're a magic build.
What character would you recommend if a beginner following this guide? Wanted to dable in magic and become a powerful caster but if items in this guide require str or dex then I'm ok picking a melee build instead.
Sacred tear* not a sacred seal. And you get the flame of Frenzy incantation. frenzied flame beams coming out of your eyes that can drive you mad if you use it to many times in a row. Great AOE and melts lots of enemies.
Just so you know you can farm the big dragon. You just have to kill him with the bleed near his tail and then as he is dying quickly jump on your horse and sit at the site of grace. You'll get the runes but not the hearts and the dragon will be there again when you get up.
2:31-3:24 *I thought I found everything in chapter 1 but I missed that Golden Seed, Bloodrose, Recipe for Blood Grease and the Dectus Medallion* Thanks Vaati 💪🏽
I'm doing the game semi blind and having an incredible time. I'm sure I've missed so many NPC quests in this first playthrough. I can't wait to replay it and find them next time.
I beat the game after 25 hrs of play time in game and my god.... There was SOOO MUCH stuff I missed! Not only the side quests but mini bosses, weapon arts, encantations etc. Etc . With only 25% of the items discovered, I beat the game with a +15 broadsword and blood art.. there are so many videos out there that have everything discovered, its insane. My second playthrough is currently, a 100% playthrough.
I would love for a story guide for this game, since I haven't got around to play it yet and I'm paranoid to miss out on questlines with these games. Just something to check whilst playing through it to make sure that nothing emotionally important is left behind.
When you do get around to the game fextralife has a game route guide on their wiki that notes which npcs to talk to in order to start their quest at different stages of a playthrough
Tbf it appears most of the npcs questlines arent really locked if you do things out of order and iv been going back from the end of the game to finish up the quests I forgot
Besides some really end game things most questlines aren't locked up or cryptic like they were in previous titles. I actually managed to go through entirely with one of the cryptic alternate endings blind which is very difficult in earlier titles lol.
@@Kelnef This is a minor Spoiler but Rogier's questline can end cause if he falls asleep in the Roundtable Hold I've heard that he never wakes back up so I killed Godrick and instantly rushed his questline cause I want to save my boy :( He really helped draw Agro in the Margit fight
The soreseal makes you take 13% more damage. Until you’re level 100+ with 30+ vit, that extra 5 vit almost always is worth more in survivability than the extra damage you take.
more about what you fight than your level. getting hit for an extra 5 damage isn't much, getting hit for 25 or 50 extra will eventually kill you. ds1/3 made all this stuff op and er tuned it back. even favor talisman isnt impressive late game, like 50 hp and a couple points of stam and equip
At 8:42 if you use the glintblade phalanx ash of war on any weapon and activate it, those enemies would instantly get staggered so you can do a crit. I got an average of 220k runes per hour doing it.
@@Riael that's definitely not true lol, you get a little over 1000 runes per run and you have to angle it so the ball hits the enemies. It's much faster just to kill them

As a tip, killing the knight that drops the Blood Ash weapon art, whatever it is called. Go up the ladders to the right and then fall off to one of the wooden ledges. As he is climbing the ladder he can be attacked from your position. He can even fall off the ladder. It's how I cheesed him easy
Bloody Slash? Damn, I had to kite him all the way out of the fort while taking potshots at him with flame sling and now you're telling me there's a cheese strat?
Note on Radagon's Soreseal: IDK if damage taken increase scales with level or stats or what, but I just tried it out on my lvl 100 character and I take significantly more damage, seemingly almost double the damage.
I found the minor version that grants +3 and it looks like the “extra damage” is caused by an reducing your armor. Perhaps its % based and that’s why it is affecting folks differently.
Press Y or Triangle when equipping it, you can see that it drops your percentage damage negation by about 8% & 15% for the +3 and +5 versions. So the more health you have the worse it is to equip tbh, especially if you have like 10 flasks to heal it all back up.
You take more damage, but it gives you more health and allows you to wear heavier armor, so as long as you're using it to wear better armor you shouldn't be any less tanky

Just stopping by to inform you I purchased this game solely on watching this tutorial. RPG games alike have terrified me on the amount of information required to progress through the story line and this is just what I needed to get started in this journey of Elder Ring!
The only info you need to progress the Elden Ring storyline is understanding that the combat is about 50% rhythm game. Once you learn the enemy timings it gets a lot easier to spot your windows to attack and heal.
09:50 Also for those who don’t know: You can kill the dragon, an as soon as you hear the “ksh” the death sound, run as fast as you can with your horse to the site of grace closest to the dragon and rest at it. When you get up, you’ll be received with all the runes, but the dragon still hasn’t disappeared. And there you go, at minimum 25k infinite rune farming! ALSO MAKE SURE TO GET YOUR TIMING PERFECTLY! If you take too long, the dragon will disappear before you can rest as the grace! A good tip to avoid this happening is hitting the dragon while still on your horse, count the number of hits to proc the bleed, and once it’s at the end of it’s life, turn your camera in the direction of the grace, keep hitting and wait the death sounds, then run to the grace. Before doing this, please, be sure if this is EXACTLY what you want, because once you do this, you’re going against the fundamentals of the game, which is the challenge, the satisfaction after going through or defeating an area or a boss. Hope a could help y’all. Have a happy life, peace and love and I deserve the best to you all
Progression works wherever you go it seems. Mine and my friends first blind playthroughs were crazy different. My first two bosses were dragonkin of nokstella and general radahn. Meanwhile my friend went through castle stormveil and farther north, but he can't even get the festival to trigger. How my world's stars were aligned so early I don't know.

I've never played Souls games. I loved the look and world of Bloodbourne, but didn't have a Playstation. I actually did buy Dark Souls 3, but never played it. Now I bought Elden Ring, but I work full time so my wife can stay home with our now 6 month old daughter. I don't have a ton of time to find every little secret and grind away for hours every day. So this guide is super helpful in letting me enjoy the game while not just flat out breaking it. Thank you so much.
I loved the editing and tone of this video! So entertaining! Please do more like these. Theres a lot of Elden Ring content but yours is by far the best!
I haven't done extensive testing to back up this thought, but I think the Lone Wolf summon you start with is just flat out better than Godrick's Soldiers. They are slow, don't do much damage, and are only moderately more tanky. The wolves help stagger bosses a LOT by comparison, and having 3 bodies means they last a little longer.
Early game the wolves seem better but after godrick the grafted the soldiers seem much better. Too many bosses that have powerful AOE that wipe the wolves out in one or two hits. Soldiers tank a lot of damage and draw agro.
I've noticed this too. The wolves have a tendency to do hit and run as well, which makes them last longer against bosses with less extreme AOE attacks.
I would highly recommend the Barricade weapon art, and the Turtle Shield that comes with it. You can get the turtle shield very early and the stat requirements are negligible. Barricade causes most enemies to stagger when they hit it. Trivialises Misbegotten Warriors, along with the vast majority of melee threats.
Without doubt the Elden Ring tips video I’ve seen- plotting your travel on the map is so helpful. The simultaneous explanations of items/weapons/upgrades etc. whilst making the journey is brilliant.
Just a bonus extra on killing the giant dragon. Using the picked foot for a boost is nice... But using it when you kill it at NIGHT grants a stacking bonus and will get you a little over 100k.

@@Bob-yb5om he actually came really close to it already. This means you get 75k default..so with the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot that should be upwards of 97.5k..and there's also a "Gold Scarab" talisman you can get that can boosts rune acquisition even more (thanks to Landon Cube for posting this below):

Thanks

Can confirm. Just went back to stormhill shack when i read this comment and there was a golden seed 😃 thanks!
thanks for that
Another thing to note is that you can give her an item found in the castle when she is still at the shack.

Follow it until you get up to the birdsviewscope then follow the fire wall upwards till you get to the valley. Drop down the branches and there's an easy boss that gives you the gold medallion

Using the poison traps to kill that guy is actually a great idea. Wondering how I didn't think of that, considering that they're right there.

That's awesome that you're still able to get to enjoy the game through these vids!

you're better off killing the chicken if you just want to farm runes. Gives you about 3mill in an hour :D
@@nicosand86 this is an early game guide. That farm is mid to late game after killing multiple shardbearers
@@thefatalsythe hmmm, the chicken guide I saw didn't say anything about that, it looked like all you needed was a longbow and a bunch of arrows, and you could run there without fighting anything, it was just tricky to get to the grace as you had to dodge alot of enemies

Your guides and lore videos are making me enjoy this game far more than I would if I just explored blindly without understanding most things.
nice a new comment!
soo how is it going for you Right now?
Noice
There is an easier cheese to kill cavalier, if you walk just a little bit outside the bridge and lure him to the left just a little and then rush back unto the bridge again, he will get stuck inside the railings and, after some jumping trying to reach you, he will fall off to the abyss to his death
@@miorioff i feel sorry for that guy, it seems the world just wants him to die.

Could u tell name of that shield ?

For Weeping Peninsula area, prior arriving to Tombsward area/Site of Grace (Wandering Mausoleum area), you can visit a church around a frenzied village just by the forest of Weeping Peninsula to earn an extra Sacred Tears.
In the tombsward ruins nearby there's an amazing holy scythe too.
Is it heavier than Beast Crest Heater Shield? The Beast Crest is 3.5lbs and sits in a chest NE of Warmasters shack, in a camp.

Just wanted to say that you can have 96K runes instead of having "only" 55K when killing the dragon, it is better to use the golden chicken buff the second after its death; the dragon takes a very long time to die which leaves plenty of time to use the rune boost !
In your video you have "only" 55K runes when killing it, because you activated it too early (
because when you activate it, we see the icon under your stamina bar, and when you kill it you no longer have it,
but maybe i'm wrong !)
The chicken boost effect lasts 3min, you probably missed the timing :/
I got 96K runes using the paw 1 second after killing the dragon!
Hope it helps :)
Baller
Nice
I can confirm that, i also got 96k it with the gold foot :)
You can even get 115k from the dragon by using the foot while also having the gold scarab equipped.
Jump attacks also can posture break them for a riposte and after you riposte Crystarian it’s resistances are gone
If (pretty much when) the system functions as it did in DS3, critical hit damage doesn't diminish from damage resistance.
I really enjoy you putting out videos that only tackle early/mid-ish game content, so all of us who haven't finished and are a good chunk into the game can watch content without fear of being spoiled

Thanks!

PSA: if you do go to Altus Plateau look up the location of the warming stone recipe. Very useful item - mostly for out of combat healing.

Even without upgrades the art of war gave abnormally high bleed on it compared to other weapons I had access to.

I have a few additions to make:
I love that you showed the farming spots for resins, I love being able to have a steady supply
Holy moly this is the most condensed and comprehensive guide for leveling characters I've seen so far, helped me so much even though I'm already in Lucaria
Hey guys, in the Abandoned Cave where the Golden Scarab is, remind yourself to take a dagger with you so you can use the weapon art "Quickstep" to quickly get out of the difficult terrain (a Trick learned from Vaati in DS3) and thus avoid scarlet rot poisoning
Also the Persistent healing of the Flask of Wondrous Physic counters the rot pretty well but not perfectly

Your guide are so organized and to the point while still informing people of things you could 100 percent miss , your guides and videos are dope 👌
Very balanced. lol
I've tried this several time and it hasn't worked for me, the poison seems to barely damage him. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

@@valentin4761 While the weapon might be stronger it would require you to invest into it, this is more open ended where you can do what you want. SNF Is ridiculous damage early on though, no doubt about that.
@@Summon_Aery if you start astrologer and cheese the dragon with bleed, you have enough souls to have all the requirements and some souls left to upgrade it up to +6 with only stuff available in the openworld so it might take a little longer but you don't have to fight anything and you will one shot margit
Without doubt Vaati makes fantastic, brilliantly thought out From Soft content. Just hearing his soothing voice makes me want to go back to a game that I just rage quit 5 minutes ago. Please do more Elden ring lore videos too they enrich the playing experience so very much.
Two things I might add to Chapter 3:

That’s probably intended as it’s probably made for low level runs
Press Y or Triangle when equipping it, you can see that it drops your percentage damage negation by about 8% & 15% for the +3 and +5 versions. So the more health you have the worse it is to equip tbh, especially if you have like 10 flasks to heal it all back up.
You take more damage, but it gives you more health and allows you to wear heavier armor, so as long as you're using it to wear better armor you shouldn't be any less tanky

So hype for the banger lore vids that this game has. I'm particularly excited for the bloatswarm queen and the godskin duo and the albinaurics they were some of the coolest hinted at characters. There's just so many souls stories happening in this game it's jnsane
Jnsane!? Is that a Souls thing?
Just stopping by to inform you I purchased this game solely on watching this tutorial. RPG games alike have terrified me on the amount of information required to progress through the story line and this is just what I needed to get started in this journey of Elder Ring!
The only info you need to progress the Elden Ring storyline is understanding that the combat is about 50% rhythm game. Once you learn the enemy timings it gets a lot easier to spot your windows to attack and heal.
Souls games have always been playable largely by just mindlessly wandering around
He's probably not attending the festival at the night full of stars.
wait your second boss was Radahn? Jesus Im like level 65 and that dude still kicks my ass

You must probably doing the fight wrong.
@@Orka9ty jap same my friend, certainly a tought shell to crack

and use the weapons as cover. The summons make the fight pretty boring but you can literally just keep summoning everyone back up until you get lucky and kill him.
The white ghost drapes show where all the summons are btw
They're a lot faster too and will try and jump to dodge attacks.
@@Based_investor Really? I've tried both and the Godrick Soldiers never really help much for me compared to the Wolves.
Not much of a lone-wolf if there's three
I would highly recommend the Barricade weapon art, and the Turtle Shield that comes with it. You can get the turtle shield very early and the stat requirements are negligible. Barricade causes most enemies to stagger when they hit it. Trivialises Misbegotten Warriors, along with the vast majority of melee threats.
the turtle shield has been nerfed to 84% physical block.
@@nioxic77 unacceptable.
If the Erdtree leaves fall, it will ^^
This run is beyond impressive! I’ve watched this like 5X already! Super impressed love the content 💯
VaatiVidya always puts out the best FromSoft content. It’s comprehensive, funny and with the perfect voice to match the theme of these games. Been getting carried by this dude since Bloodborne.
Thanks always for doing the work and putting in the time for us lowly tarnished Vaati.
Memorizing this route so that I can do this on my next character when I want to try playing a more magic themed build. Thanks so much for all of this!
A suggested change to your ash of war: Bloodhound step. Easy to get right from beginning, no fighting involved, and it is an insane mobility ability
Where's that? I've found the Bloodhound's Fang sword, but not the Ash of War.
@@Bob-yb5om he actually came really close to it already. When you teleport from Third Church, you head to the tower across the bridge (lenns rise I think?), sit at the grace till night and look at the lower bridge. There is a boss knight there that drops it along with 40k runes. All you have to do is ride past him and get him to chase you up the hill and around the corner, for some reason (if you kept him close behind you) he just dies at that point. No fighting needed.
@@sorenjensen3863 it’s patched. You have to actually kill him now.
@@ethansugly well, unless they patched it in the last couple hours, no you don't. You just have to make sure he is following you. Get too far ahead and it doesn't work
@@sorenjensen3863 I can confirm this still works as I’ve just done it. Nice one 🙌
