This was HANDS down the best one-shot rune farming trick I have ever come across! A little over 100,000 runes in less than 3 mins of work, a nice bleed weapon and several sites of Lost Grace I hadn't had before. THANK YOU good sir!
For new players. Touch the sight of grace near the dragon. Once he’s close to death. Hop on your horse and hit him slowly. When he hits 0hp he will do a flinch animation. When that happens sprint to the sight of grace before the dragon heart pops up. And touch grace. When you back out. You will have 50k rune and he will respawn every time. I farmed to lvl 70 in under an hour
it's not really a farm if you can't repeat it, but this is a good way to get runes. (Edit) Apparently it is repeatable if you run back to the grace as soon as it starts the dying animations. Thanks guys!
I was so skeptical about this at first but then I tried it and omg that was crazy. The absolute joy I felt when I saw that 96,000 or so runes was incomparable to anything I felt before while playing the game. Thank you.

When the dragon flinches in the end, right before it’s about to disappear, quickly take your steed and go a little back and you’ll find a grace, rest there before the dragon disappears and it respawns, you can farm runes as many times as you want that way
Your guide has honestly been the most helpful one I’ve found I like how you don’t rush through it and take time to show everything your doing I appreciate you dude.
Did this today still works. There is a grace location behind the dragon. Get that first. When you get the dragon health low get on your horse and do the rest of the swings on the tail. The tail will move for the death animation. Soon as you see that book it the grace and sit down. You'll get the runes, dragon will respawn, rinse and repeat.
@@gareldjoseph3564 No.. You touch the Grace. Kill the dragon and get back and “rest” at Grace before dragon death animation finishes.. It’s a glitch. Your timing has to be near perfect.
After Killing the dragon, you could also get the Legendary "Radagon's Soreseal" Talisman inside the building, next to the grace of the elder dragon. You don't have to kill any mobs for the Talisman, just run through the building, climb the ladder, and drop in the correct hole, there you can drop again to the talisman and loot it (cou can watchan another youtube video for that). The Talisman gives you +5 on 4 of your stats, which is like another 20 lvl.
As someone brand new to 'Souls' games and who has been struggling to start out, this guide was very helpful and easy. Now I can explore with more confidence. Thank you!
I was curious if this guide is still accurate since the game has undergone at least two updates since this video was posted. But seeing your comment is from just 12 hours ago I am hopeful. I'm not sure if From Software is one of those dev companies that learns of players finding a cheese grind so they patch the game to remove it (I'm looking at you Ubisoft...) I guess I have trust issues... lol
FYI: As of 1.12 (Erdtree expansion patch) the dragon is no longer cheesable; you get to kill it once but it will not respawn even if you rush to the grace. You can still kill it once for a large injection of early runes, but you can't repeat it endlessly.
bruh as of 1.12 you can still do it, been doing it for 10 times now, you have to ride torrent right before flinch animation which is before the dragon dies, then you rush to the grace
@@Kngvxoid hurt dragon near tail until small health when dragon is small health like 1cm ride horse while riding horse hurt dragon when dragon flinches rush back to grace do the quick dismount if you got the dragon heart you failed and cant do it again if you see that you have 50k, congrats now do it again
Just want to add that you don't need to go all the way around at 10:04, where he stops at there is a spiritspring jump, just use it and you will be right behind the dragon just run straight from there to the grace.
I’m new to from soft games. I was getting slaughtered when I first jumped in. This walkthrough is amazing not just for what you get but the way it is structured. Love your work ESO.🤟
One thing: If you ride to the site of grace behind the big dragon, and rest there while the dragon is still in its dying animation, you will get the runes, but the Dragon will respawn. Meaning you can repeat the Trick as many times as you want.
@@RowdyRezik no they havent i tried this a couple hours ago but i took to long to rest at grace after killing the dragon and he didnt respawn so try be quick during his dying animation
Note to anyone doing this. In ‘Fort faroth’ just behind the grace there is a golden rune you can pick up. Go in the fort, dash left to avoid enemies, climb the ladder and jump down the second hole in the floor. Then go right and the golden rune will be on a dead body. This will give you an additional 10% or something around there. Additionally, instead of the weapon shown in this video, you are able to find a flail in a chest near the gate front bandit camp. This does require dexterity to wield, but it means you don’t have to wander south of the map. Hope this helps whoever’s reading. This game is magnificent.
For infinite runes, do the last few killing hits on horse back, then as soon as the dragon dies rush back to the grace, the dragon won't die, you'll get base 50K runes and then you can kill it again Edit: still fully works on patch 1.07. With gold scarab talisman and gold pickled foot you get like 70-90k runes
For those wondering i just started yesterday and yes it is still working, i suggest running further down from the dragon hitting spot shown and getting the grace then attacking the dragon from the tail, then just when he start shaking when his hp drops to 0 run to the grace and interact which will give u 50k runes but allow u too do this as long as u dont let the dragon die
Okay i did a little testing and it seems u must hit it in the place shown in the video until its quite low then hop on ur horse and attack at the tail until its death animation in order to recieve the runes, if u attack the tail only for some reason u get no runes and the boss stays alive
@Nobody76World if u come and the big dragon roars u can just ignore it and carry on but if the little dragons are already awake u can use this route, where u see the person in the vid jump up and first see the big dragon turn left and use ur horse and double jumps to travel all the way around the big rock which will lead u to the grace around the left side instead of the right shown in the vid

Actually, you should hit the dragon in his tail. As soon as you kill him, mount your horse and run as fast as you can to the grace at Fort Faroth and rest in it. @@kokichi3yearsago632 if you started with the samurai kit, you’re good for awhile. if not, there are some weapons in the town by the gate side grace point, in those stagecoaches guarded by soldiers. also many ruins in the game have small dungeons with some monsters to fight and loot to gain, so i recommend doing those. there’s one in the dragon burnt ruins in lake agheel, and in near the stranded graveyard. i still recommend looting the stagecoaches though. hope this helps.

I rarely comment on UA-cam videos but needed to echo what others have said about this and your other Elder Ring ones in that I love how clear and 'step by step' they are. Really appreciated
I'm BRAND new to Elden Ring and figured something wouldn't work out but I ran past all of those ridiculously monstrous monsters and it worked great, and on the first try thanks to your navigation. Thank you!
Haven't even watched the video yet and I can already guarantee this is going to be about the massive dragon! Very handy for new players, glad you've covered this!
I never comment on videos, but I feel compelled to with this one. I've just started Elden Ring and i keep dying left and right so i was looking for some reprieve. I have to say you're video is very simple, clear, concise and clear! I appreciate it very much. Keep producing great content like this and you will blow up! Very, very well done mate!
This is the most amount of runes I've ever gotten from a farm (I'm unable to get to the far north location for the bird farm one). I wanted to cry with joy when I saw the amount of runes. Unfortunately it's a one time thing since the oversize sleeping dragon doesn't respawn and I've already killed him. Would have so loved if he respawned.
It's not just from killing that dragon. When you kill it, you'll notice all the other little wrymlings nearby die as well. You basically killed an elder dragon and like ten other dragons at the same time.
Pretty sure I seen a video of someone glitching that... If you run to the grace behind it before the death animation stops it will still be there... But I don't know if it's fixed, I couldn't get it to work but I'm not very good at timing...
Thank you man. This type of farming you explained has me feeling less guilty to partake because it involves a decent amount of minuvering to complete. Unlike other videos where you shoot an arrow at a dragon and it falls off a cliff right next to a site of grace. Lol. Thanks!
Not farming. Look for the Lenne's Rise farming, easy but tedious. Try the area North of Farum Greatbridge, you can canter/gallop around whacking the little vicious guys for quite a good rate of runes. Bloodhound's Fang is good weapon for that, especially if you've upgraded it. Iji is your man for that.
To anyone who has sold their Morning Star (like myself), this method also works with the Marred Leather Shield if you two-hand it! Thanks for the vid ESO, enjoy your runes people.
If you’re a Astrologer class make sure you have bleed build up item it literally works the same and you can use the short sword you get at the beginning of the game 👍🏽
@@caydenjurgensen5511 so it’s a one time thing, but I have heard that you can do it multiple times if you haste to the grace with your horse and rest as the dragon is dying. I want to level up for a good while before I start going after bosses and main quest content.
If u go to liurnia highway north you will see some ghosts and solders fighting. Don’t fight back but just go to a high cliff next to the road and as they kill each other you will absorb runes each time u can restart the fight by resting at the grace site down the road south the fighting is north. It’s easy if u follow the road I just received 5000 runes with out doing anything no need to get any special items just wait on a high cliff and u will absorb runes. But watch out for the larger boss ( unless u want to fight) he can be activated if u get close to the road but not too close and then run back to a cliff or rock near the road.
Thank you so much for your content!! This is my first Souls game and I'd have been lost if not for your detailed descriptions! Keep making these videos!!

When you get to the minor erd tree instead of taking his route use the spirit spring behind the tree. It will take you directly behind the dragon near the grace. Also this dragon can be farmed infinitely if you get it to the last bit of health before it dies call your horse and kill the dragon on horse back. As soon as you see the death animation run to the grace and rest at the grace. You will get 50,000 runes but the dragon will still be alive. You can keep doing this as many times as you like.
@@rhystaylor1505 I did it loads yesterday, you have to rest at the grace before the dragons death animation is over so unfortunately he's dead for you forever now
@@Horne_Baka yes unfortunately but there is another farming method you could do using the Celebrant's Hammer with the White Shadow Lure equipped to it. Find a decent sized group and use the Lure. couple of changes I suggest, 1. You can get a bleed weapon, the flail in the chariot closest to the gatefront ruins 2. If you don't have the specs for the weapon, two handing will not work, 4k runes you can buy spiked caestus at the isolated merchant
anyone doing this there is a jump point behind the big tree saves you going all the way around then get the bonfire just next to the building next to the dragon
Cool, my Brother and me recently started a Run together and in my last 20 Minutes or so i almost discovered everything in this Video, including the Teleporter and that Dragon on the Bridge. You can also use the uchigatana to do it if you start as the samurai or go and find the other uchi in a cave they also cause bleed and if you start as a samurai it cuts a lot of what you need to do out since you don't need to go and get the Morningstar you already have a bleed weapon with the Katana

I didnt get the items in first 2 steps but had a fowl foot. Also with the boost only got 33k runes? Did this happen to you as well or was it exactly like the video
Hi. I got the items in the 1st two steps. ..... and with the boost got the number of runes as shown in the video exactly. I'm not an experienced player at all but for me all the steps in the video worked and I was able to level up my character quickly. However the best way to get runes is the boulder evasion method as it gets you almost 2000 runes every 30 seconds or so and that is without any gold pickled foul foot. I spent an hour every other day just avoiding the bo6kder, getting 2000 runes, resting by the grace site and then dodging the boulder again for another 2000 runes. Took me a few minutes to work out exactly how to avoid the boulder but after that it was incredibly easy and useful. Good luck
@mikesmith9676 i actually just saw that method today. Anyway i found out that reason for the differences was due to not updating the game when installed. Actually looked up some items and they were described as unused items on the wiki haha. Anyway thanks for confirmation ill probably be restarting once updated cuz i really wanted that mace
Nice to see you doing Elden Ring videos. Skyrim was a lot of fun ,but after eleven years, it's time to move on. Hopefully Elden Ring can carry us to TES6.
Thank you for making these reasonably length and detailed guides. I am helping to save my hubby’s bacon (Bandit class doing magic/weapons build) in Elden Ring & will also utilize them once I get properly started again, having only just breached the tutorial dungeon to reach outside. I am particularly looking forward to tips on a build for Prophet class. But, I may also change to Astrologer for mor magic than faith build. Still unsure. Would love your opinion.
My main is prophet, roleplaying as a mad monk/healer. It depends on your play style, if you want to optimize for damage then you want to dump runes in mind and faith (40/60 are good caps), some intelligence too for sorceries and dragon incantations if that's what you're interested in (I personally don't). I play as a hybrid between support and glass cannon, depending on the situation I switch between roles, but you can also build out to something like a paladin (so strength and vigor becomes important with some endurance, you can slack on mind). I definitely don't recommend the glass cannon build if you're a beginner, one-shotting mobs from the beginning is cool but you're very very squishy the entire time and the build doesn't really shine until mid game where you don't have to worry as much about fp. If you're planning on doing co-op with your husband then you can look into builds that supplement his build's weaknesses. He is probably going to be a little squishy if he went bandit; he can take the dps role while you can tank for him. If you're set on prophet then I think paladin would work well, you can give buffs and healing. If you really want to optimize then I would figure out the main stats you're interested in (if you're going paladin then it will be strength, vigor, and endurance with faith and mind being secondary), tally up the total each class gives you, and subtract by the class' starting level; the higher the number, the better it will be in the long-run for spending the fewest amount of runes to reach your target stats. You can get a lot more complex than that but I think it's a good enough starting point (assuming you're interested in starting over. You'll have plenty of opportunities to respec your stats if you want to try something different, just make sure to not sell weapons and armor that don't have duplicates so you don't accidentally sell vital build gear like I did 😞)
@@yerpderp6800 Thank you for the advice. Sounds like a solid starting point. I played Dark Souls b4, but builds are never really my thing, so I always appreciate input. I definitely like to have damage as a focus because I play solo. I wish I could co op with my hubby, but there is no couch co op. We’d have to have 2 systems and TVs & maybe copies of the game for that, so it’s not happening. As for accidentally selling unique gear, I tend to be a hoarder, so that’s not likely to happen. It’ll probably all end up in my storage. 😄
Are you talking about the combat tutorial that you jump down into? Next to the corpse on a chair? I jumped in there by mistake as an Astrologer my first go-round and felt that this area really was geared toward physical combat, found it really hard for a starting-level mage. My second attempt realized I didn't have to jump down there. Went left up the stairs and out the door instead, haha. I'd have felt more silly if it wasn't for the fact that so much isn't explained.
@@StillOnTrack I needed the combat tutorial to figure out the controls. And, afterward, had only just emerged to Limgrave.
Will the dragon still respawn if you don’t hit the grace site first?
@Gareld joseph I am not sure about that

I can’t believe that actually worked step by step and it was so convenient. You do a really great thorough job

Did this when just starting the game. It's a great way to build a quickly and not get discouraged with weak you feel when you start the game
I appreciate the tip
Cool thanks; I already found & sold (I think) the Morningstar weapon.
For some reason the flail wouldn't initiate the bleed effect for me so I went for the morning star, not sure if anyone else had this issue.
Darnit I sold that flail
The morning star can be used by any class so it’s a good catch all bleed weapon.
For infinite runes, do the last few killing hits on horse back, then as soon as the dragon dies rush back to the grace, the dragon won't die, you'll get base 50K runes and then you can kill it again

Okay i did a little testing and it seems u must hit it in the place shown in the video until its quite low then hop on ur horse and attack at the tail until its death animation in order to recieve the runes, if u attack the tail only for some reason u get no runes and the boss stays alive
It's covered with small dragons
@Nobody76World if u come and the big dragon roars u can just ignore it and carry on but if the little dragons are already awake u can use this route, where u see the person in the vid jump up and first see the big dragon turn left and use ur horse and double jumps to travel all the way around the big rock which will lead u to the grace around the left side instead of the right shown in the vid

Absolutely brilliant. Perfect explanation, works a treat as of 14/3/22. Exceptional work on finding this.
Actually, you should hit the dragon in his tail. As soon as you kill him, mount your horse and run as fast as you can to the grace at Fort Faroth and rest in it. Good luck

Agree!
B4 getting further in, had wanted to figure out if I should make a different character as Astrologer instead of Prophet bcuz I wasn’t sure if regular magic spells were better than Faith ones. I know I didn’t HAVE to jump down there, by the corpse in the chair, but I wanted to.
Thank you I had lost all of my runes (90k) but this helped out a lot to get me back and add on more
Thanx man. Still works as of 9/26/2024
Ok
Great kick start to the game, thanks. Gives a nice advantage! Really well explained and enjoyed your vid.
