I forgot to mention in the video that we didn't do anything to secure the headboard to the wall. The box spring and the mattress apply enough pressure to hold it up. We've had it up for about a week and it's stayed in place just fine. Thanks for all the support friends.
I just love how you approach your decor. So many people spend, spend, spend and have to have the latest and greatest of everything no matter the cost. I don't enjoy watching those UA-camrs. Keep on doing what you do. Love your style (and your sensible approach to everything...decorating, mothering, etc....)
Thank you so much! Means a lot that you would say that. Appreciate you!
*I love creating my own headboard, the first one I did I was 17, its easier then I thought it would. Love the color you chose; beautiful.* 🌸💕
Thank you! 😊 It really was so easy. I was surprised!
It turned out so well, looks brilliant!
The timing of this couldn't be more perfect!! We just got a bigger mattress and don't want to spend a ton on a bed frame and this style is exactly what I've wanted!
Ohhhh yea!! You done did it again. Your husband is lucky to have you.
You’re the best babe!!!
It’s beautiful. And thanks you for saving me from some mistakes I probably would have made.
Glad I could help! Yours will turn out beautiful as well.
This turned out sooo beautiful, Emily! :) love!!
Thank you so much
It's beautiful, but I would caution on the wood... That kind isn't great to use on furniture because of formaldehyde and other chemicals they use to glue the pieces together. I know because I used it under my bed to support it and it smelled like chemicals for years... It leeched onto the mattress.
Oh wow, never knew that. It doesn’t smell at all currently, hopefully it stays that way.
It’s beautiful! The bed looks so comfortable and stylish.
You are a bright spot in the day. Great energy, beautiful job, Emily!❤️
Thank you so much! Appreciate your kind words.
Love every part of your making home series,Emily! Thank you for sharing your journey!
This is by far the best diy headboard I’ve seen! Great job emily❤
It looks great 👌 love it girl and I love that big basket that's nice 👍
Thank you! 🤗 I am a basket addict.
I wish you had an Amazon wish list, I would buy you a nail gun x x
I love the turn out! I do have a question do you remember the size of the staples you used?
This came out beautifully exactly what I would want my husband and I will be doing this sometime in the future! Thank you so much for the inspiration! I’m loving this home series. Every time you post a video I’m so excited to see what you did next.
You are so welcome! You will love making this. Not only as you said, its more affordable, but its easy to make! Thanks for watching.
cute
Thanks Kimberly 🥰
Man you are so good ! Love everything you create and your ideas . Wish I was this creative .
Thank you so much 😀
You did a great job
Thanks Lisa! Appreciate that.
does your mattress hang off the end of the frame now?
I really love this video and the outcome
Your color palette is beautiful from your clothing to home furnishings. Excited to see what’s next.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 🤗
How did you secure the headboard?
Wow! I'm doing this to our guests bedroom!
Oh yaaay!!!!
Of my gosh, is that big boy with the dark hair Orin? How did he get so grown up? It happens in the blink of eye.
I knowwwww!! So quickly grows up. Time is a thief.
It’s beautiful! I love it.
Thank you! 😊 it turned out better than I had hoped!
You might have different water. Hard water is rough on hair.
Thats a good point! Something i'll get my husband to look into hehe
It turned out so well! Very pretty :)
Thank you! 😊 It's what our bedroom needed.
Love it!
Great job!!
I love it
Beautiful.
Great job on your choices from lily silk. I have the same cashmere in black and have been sleeping on silk pillow cases for 20 years now ! Loved the DIY !!
OH EMILY your diy’s are just the best
Nice head board, should probably look at where the silk comes from from your sponsores. It is not made from mulberry bushes, that's what the creatures live on, most of them are boiled alive to get the silk cocoon.
Looks so good!
Thank you for watching!!
Emily your bed turned out amazing! ❤
You bed is gorgeous
Thanks Anita!
I couldn't see your reply below about securing the headboard to the bottom frame? Also - I may have missed this Emily - but was the headboard - twin size the exact same width as the width of the mattress and box spring?
It hangs over a couple inches on each side, which is exactly what I was wanting! Also we didn’t secure the headboard the box spring and mattress put enough pressure on it to hold it up.
Love the idea of achieving the look for much less! Beautiful job! Is your bed a king size? Wondering what size duvet I would need to cover it❤️
We have a queen, it would probably be best to just get some linen fabric or something similar…. Actually maybe a smaller full size duvet would work?
Very good !!! ❤️I love your bed and you have the cutest tree children's gorgeous 👍👍👍😘❤️
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I love this DIY!!! Great video. It's so beautiful. I love your bedroom. 🤍
Thank you so much! Its all coming together nicely. More to come!
It’s so nice!! I looked for the links for the memory foam and the batting but don’t see it there currently. Can you add the links?
oops yes i totally forgot, just updated the description box now. thanks for the reminder.
Looks great!!! Great tips and tricks info too! Thanks!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Lovely I have to try this DIY. Question the memory foam on Amazon link please 😃
sorry just linked it now it the description box
For sure doing this for my bed! How did you secure the headboard? Did you attach it to the wall?
Totally do it! The head board is just floating basically. We just have it behind the frame.
This is wonderful!!! I’m going to try this!
YES! It was way easier than I thought. You got this!
Looks amazing, really inspiring thanks for sharing ❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Susan!
Great job!
The headboard turned out awesome.
Thank you! We love it!
I laughed a little too loud at I DIDN’T while holding my sleeping baby. I made him jump a bit but it’s so relatable. 🤍
Glad it made you laugh. Hopefully it didn't wake up your baby hehe
Turned out so beautiful! 🤍
Thank you! 😊
