I met Joe back in 94 at LAX and he is without doubt the nicest bloke you could ever meet as a rock star, he introduced me to Steve and the boys and we had a blast!!! The paparazzi were down stairs and I spoiled every photo they tried to take of Steve and the band!!! Hahaha from Australia

I have always liked Joe Perry's style of playing, my dad bought me Toys in The Attic on cassette tape when i was 6 or 7.. 20 yrs after its original release..and that music just resonated with me so much, I now play guitar. I learned more about Joe Perry's playing style and kept an interest in the band into my teens and now my late 20's.. unbelievable the generational impact this band called Aerosmith has had, Joe Perry is one of the best guitarists ever, he belongs in the top 10 in my book

He's playing the intro to "Back in the Saddle " on a Music Man Silhouette which he originally wrote on a Fender Bass VI which is a six string bass guitar. It looks like his Music Man was modified with the addition of a Floyd Rose tremolo not sure if they have a model with that but maybe. So cool and one of my favorite Aerosmith songs.

It's a guitar. See the 25.5' scale. There are no floyd roses for bass and no music man bass has that headstock and guitar tuners like that. Plus it's tuned way higher than a bass but lower than standard E for guitar.

He uses it for 'Back in the Saddle' and the reason it goes up to 11 is that originally Music Man made it as a one off for Nigel Tufnel in 1991 Joe and some other guys saw Nigel's and said "I want one" and it became a production model.

saw em live, in Atlanta, on the nine lives tour(1998). One of the best live bands i've seen. Perry never plays a solo, the same way, twice.
