I was at this show, about halfway up the amphitheater and quite a bit stage left. I think I was 14 at the time. It was one thing when the song started and he was kicking ass, but the entire crowd was in tears when he picked that kid up. Oddly enough, none of us saw that coming, it was such a trademark Randy thing you wouldnt expect him to do it with anyone else.

After taking another look... I SEE that BOTH the boy & the "RED HAIR" dude are "BOTH playing rythm". In the MAIN LEAD the boy does play "lead". But thru out the whole song you're listening to all/most of the "vibratos" ARE being played by the "Red Hair" dude. I also noticed the Red Hair dude's guitar is "turned up" A NOTCH LOUDER, as well [like I said before]. &, the nine seconds OF LICKS between 5:02 & five:eleven ARE THE "RED HAIR DUDE'S licks" & the boy plucks "4" notes at five:twelve. ;-)

This kid does the solo better than Slash did with Myles Kenneday. Kinda made me tear up.
However, Slash's guitar was outta tune for the entire performance hahah and this isn't really Slash's type of style ya know? Nonetheless, you are right to a degree.
