Featuring Jim Roach on acoustic guitar & backing vocals - Комедії
Getting to hear Dan's voice without any of the heavy instrumentals or vocal effects makes me really appreciate just how amazing his voice is.
I am so unpretty 😭 When I go to the bank, they turn the cameras off. At least I am a big star on UA-cam. So don't feel too bad for me, dear matt
Most of that isn't vocal effects. He's a master of double tracks and harmonies
I wish I could hit the high notes in this key
Check out his stuff with the Super Guitar Bros. Wonderful covers.
Yup. This is a good example of how fucking amazing of a singer he is.
It's funny...but Brian is wearing his mask...but is also wearing jeans...and Danny is wearing a sparkly shirt...but is also casual in his attire. It's like they're fusions of themselves and their characters! Very cool!
Dany is wearing costume pants
@@ptah956 cost ume these nuts.
@@Sotergarm gottem
Good eye. Never caught that lol
The fact that if I didn't read this I wouldn't have noticed
When DDYK first came out: I am crying
When this came out: I am crying, but *acoustically*
Crying unplugged
I love how this song is so genuine even while being hilarious. So many awkward teens need to hear something like this. One of my favorite lines is “You’re still a nerdy kid inside, but now you’ve finally found your tribe.” It’s not about fitting in. You don’t even have to prove anything to the supposedly normal kids. It’s about finding people who understand you.
Absolutely. It's about finding the people that matter to you, and who you matter to. It's about the people who will stay up late and talk with you just because they like to do that. It's about the people who understand that you're absolutely awesome even when you don't think you are, especially when you don't think you are.
Finding people like that is hard but every time it's exhilarating.
Not just awkward teens, awkward young adults need to hear it too "awkward phase from 12 to 29" and all. Can confirm, am awkward young adult and this song makes me feel better.
Still haven't found "my tribe" yet but, Ik I will eventually. Found one person like that, but, those people are rare.
@@gamemeister2905 I'm 36. I found so far a handful of these who i would consider my tribe. My wife, 2 friends and a D&D Group... and i still cry everytime when i hear this song.
👏 👏
It's always been the line that gives me goosebumps as well! It's so well said, I felt that deeply.
Shout-out to Jim Roach, the oft-forgotten unofficial third member of NSP (longtime producer, guitarist, etc. for the band, as well as Starbomb)
As a musician myself, It makes me happy to see that he has a music stand in front of him. I have such a hard time even remembering my own songs and I feel self conscious about looking like an amateur and unprofessional. I love him so much, and I hope that I can live the dream he is ❤️❤️❤️
Music stands are cool and awesome and dope and for winners.
No need to think that way, orchestras use stands and are pretty much as pro as you can get. I've been playing for a decade in a band and still use a stand. I'd rather be able to see my notes than guess.
You should live your own dream.
Besides that - I believe in you
Even as somebody who could generally remember their lines, I still prefer to have them in front of me. May never once look at them, but it's so much better for them to be there if you have a lapse.
The only time you can really get away with fucking up is when you're in a punk band, and confident enough to just roll with your screw-ups, and it's REALLY hard to be that confident. I was only in a single punk-metal band with a singer who could pull it off. Everyone else just quit singing the song, and one walked off for the rest of the show. Most people leave song lyric sheets on the stage floor, where no one in the audience can see them.
We all know Danny has an amazing voice, but let's take a while to apreciate Brian's piano skills O:
he is kickass!
I swear Danny’s vocal cords are laced with gold or something. How else would he sound this good?
lots and lots of very hard practice.
@@duo60692 was boutta say the same thing, tons of hard work put into honing his voice
Probably got something to do with that centaur.
Golden Silk
That final part is just **chef's kiss** 👌
Brian's commitment to the angry glare the entire time is just fucking top notch. What an absolute champion he is.
Apparently that's Brian's default face. The mask just makes him look angry.
Danny's vocals are insane, Brian rocks it on the key board, and NSP is a really good band. This acoustic version is awesome. Especially the mic!
And jim is killing the guitar
Had a friend try and tell me Danny’s voice sounds “untrained” and now my friends and I all mock him for it lol.
@@hoppy2829 Jim is also killing the vocals! How could you not say that?!
@@D44RK_Iced_Yogs harmonization on point!
@@Raffey_ He definitely sounds better in the studio--not everyone can move and sing at the same time, it's a really specific skill set. (This isn't a roast, it took me forever to learn how to perform onstage with singing AND dancing at once.)
Seeing this played live in Philly with Danny's parents in the audience was magical. Made me want to cry.
Its's okay to cry.
His parents were there???
Holy shit, that must've been a huge moment for him, that's awesome.
I'm super happy for Danny's success, man.
It was incredible to see this song performed live in Kansas City. The crowd screaming along to the "D A N N Y" section is one of my favorite concert memories. I'm excited for when you're able to tour again.
Hell yeah, that was a great show! Definitely in my top 3 live musical acts. Also looking forward to when we can all start getting back out there and start enjoying live events again.
I was there, too! I will always treasure that concert!
I love all the crowd participation, especially when everyone shouts "Moo" during Cool Patrol and obviously all the "whoa"s in Heart Boner
Hearing the crowd's response to "hear the crowd roar" at the Sydney show was incredible. Didn't know we could get louder but we did.
OMG! SOMEBODY,.. ANYBODY... please let me know when he comes back to K. C.!!!
Gonna be honest, I recorded the concert. No way was I letting this masterpiece slip into internet oblivion.
Glad that the Backstreet Boys didn't hinder them at all when it came making more songs and different versions of already great ones! Keep rockin', boys!
What happened?
@@TheChubbyPigeon the backstreet boys reunion tour :), its their code word for the certain other world event that has been hindering everyone
@@Pixtrix_ Ohhhhh I get it
That tour sure has been going on for a long time. I wonder when they’ll finally finish
@@Pixtrix_ You can just say covid.
I have never clicked on a UA-cam notification so fast in my life
My girlfriend got me a Cameo from Dan and It was honestly the best birthday present ever. Having Dan sing "Jordan don't you know" really is something so small but is definitely something I won't forget and will go back to on my bad days. Keep being amazing guys!
This song came out and had a strong hand in dragging me out of a depression hole I hadn’t been in before. Thank you Danny, this song is super uplifting and relatable.
this song means so, so, SO much to me. thank you NSP for embracing the awkward in the most honest, heartfelt, and hilarious ways. this will likely be my favorite song for a long, long time.
Jim really said 2:46 to 3:13 "let me show you this amazing acoustic guitar solo"
Jim still amazes me with his god-tier guitar skills, rock on y’all
@Fk Yu it is!
Oh my gosh how did I miss this. The accoustic version really lets us appreciate Dan's amazing vocals, his voice is so pleasantly warm. And the emotion, oh man...3:38 still gives me chills!
God Danny's voice is legitimately so nice.
I love him...but it's nothing special 😬 let's just say that.
Just so pure I love Danny he's an amazing singer
@@RealKingBaldwinIVHe’s no Robert Plant, but he doesn’t have to be. He’s better than most and more than serviceable for their music. At times, his voice is genuinely beautiful.
Danny’s voice is like warm butter in my ear holes
I'm all for Shadow Academy, trust me I Love it already. But I really hope they contiue to make stuff for NSP as well, I love the more serious tone of S.A but I'm also a huge fan of the silly nature that is NSP. KEEP IT UP!!!
They assured that Shadow Academy will not affect NSP. They're writing new NSP songs right now
Jim and Brian Rocked it! I can't get over how grown up Dan looks. He still has one of the best voices I've heard. Nice job guys.
For being 43, ngl he still looks early 30s just with longer hair.
04.02.2022 was my birthday ... thank you leigh and brian for a little light in this times
Absolutely fell in love with this band because of how heartfelt their music is. The feeling of just loudly having fun, following dreams, being yourself no matter how dorky or lame people may think of you from your songs even got two of my friends into singing 😁
“Jim! Dammit! Even here!” Always makes me giggle
Hearing and seeing this song performed live in London was an unforgettable experience. Hope to see you guys live again some day!
This is always going to be one of my favorite songs on any of your albums. It's just a good feeling. Having somewhat my actual thoughts put into song by someone else, knowing they feel or been through something similar to me, just makes me feel good and not alone. Thank you Danny and Brian. Thank you NSP.
Thank you NSP, this song was one of the things that got me through one of the toughest times in my school years! I hope that the audience of teens doesn’t disappear for a while!
Danny’s vocals are insane, and the acoustic version brings it out even more. Love them so much!
YESSS this song literally means so much to me! You guys are fucking legendary. ❤️ You can tell how much passion you both have for this!
It’s insane hearing Danny’s voice without all the music and everything, instead it’s a man singing to his former self telling him shits shit, but he’s gunna achieve so much greatness
Danny's raw voice is powerful
Even as an acoustic performance, the instrumental stop at "come on you are a star tonight" tickles my brain
i hope they know how uplifting this song is for everyone who hears it
Voice of an angel, that Dan.... Proof that he can totally do it perfect when he's not horrendously nervous about singing on prime time tv. (And it was still pretty good then, btw!)
I remember watching this show and it being my first ever NSP concert. It made me so so happy.Hope the bs is over soon and you guys get to tour. Rock on
It was my first show too, I really do hope that one day I’ll get to see them irl in the future
Same! I really want to see them in person one day it'd be so rad
First time I heard this song was live during a show. I was crying by the end. It's so silly but it's so empowering at the same time.
Without an actual crowd it's a bit empty but feeling it live was still awesome!
the ability they have to make a comedy song sound so beautiful is amazing lmaoo
Danny is one of the rare singers were he can actively sing, without anything backing him up on stage.
He has a literal backup voice, but still I got your point! He is awesome
Everytime I listen to this song it hits me so hard. It came out at a time in my life where I was feeling super low about who I am. Everytime I hear this is reminds me of the first time and its just so special to me.
Whoever is in charge of wardrobe is just as much as a star as Dan, Brian, NSP and legend Jim Roach
All your “friend” is here. I feel that man. This song is the best. Been on a huge NSP kick. Best band. TWRP is awesome too.
Easily one of the best NSP songs!
NSP, you guys are legendary and heroes to me. Thank you Dan and Ninja Brian!
Congrats on your marriage Dan! ♥️
What? When did he get married?
@@paramoregirl777 checkout the last episode of lemmings at the end! He married Ashley ♥️
you know someone's a real good singer when it's super good even without effects!!!!
Dan's so beautiful here. The outfit, the microphone and the whole performance.
i heard this song live before it was released many years ago and its by far the performance that stands out among all the others (which were also phenomenal). even then, before any of us had ever heard it, the crowd was so alive and ready to participate to the best of our ability. its genuinely one of my favorite memories in my life, even with none of us knowing the song yet, it was so genuine and you could feel the love and support radiating from everyone around you
I was at one of their recent concerts for their acoustic tour and they played this. We all were ready and prepared for the DANNY part and it was magical. It was basically everyone singing this song with Danny, reinforcing his point of being a Rockstar, and us joining in as the crowd part unpromted so it felt more organic in a way. And then with it being acoustic so it focused on Danny and his voice just made the whole message of the song shine. Truly one of the best concert experiences I've ever had.
You know, it's amazing how you can build a band and brand based on whimsy, and still make impactful music from the heart. This may be coming from NSP, but I don't doubt for a second that Danny has had that exact, real conversation with himself. Probably on multiple occasions. It just connects so well with me, and evidently the broader audience as well.
Seeing Danny perform music in a normal Hawaiian shirt and jeans hits different, getting weird AL vibes, that’s a good thing btw
I've fallen in love with this song all over again.
I cried again, just like the first time I heard this song. Thank you.
I've been a fan of GG since I was a teen in college. I'm past 30 now and I can't believe it took me this long to discover Dan's musical talents in NSP. This song is so important to me. I can only imagine how important this will be for many awkward nerds of all ages.
Thank you NSP!!!
Dan has a funny laugh, funny voice, and a beautiful singing voice
I love that shirt. Also Danny's voice in an acoustic format is new to me and it is also very delightful.
I'm a counselor at a school and I want to believe I channel this energy to my students when they struggle.
"How're they gonna do the sing-a-long bit without a crowd??... "
"Jim, let's hear it!"
- YAY, JIM!!!!
This brings me back to the good ol' days
Danny has the voice of an angle for real id love to hear you guys do Glory of Love by Peter Cetera. I feel Danny has the voice tomake the song even more epic.
They actually have already done a cover of Glory of Love! Check out their album Under the Covers Vol. III
@@linkypete Oooo thanks will check it out ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ok, I know he's not part of the NSP duo but the guitarist doesn't get enough screen time, those vocals were ON POINT!!!
I dunno if he'll have vocals but Shadow Academy is Danny and Jim Roach so you can look forward to that :)
This song makes me laugh but also cry, it's funny and emotional and sweet and hilarious.
I always love acoustic performances. Dan's vocals really shine here. And always love Brian on the keyboard, and damn Jim, you're fantastic on the guitar too! This was so awesome.
I loved this concert when it first premiered last year and still do. This song is still inspiring and nice to hear especially since I’m also nerdy and feel low about myself and my future. I hope to see this perform before my eyes in person one day
Dan's voice never stops being gorgeous.
Dan’s genuine singing has always given me goosebumps, now I get my favorite song as acoustic? Amazing!! ❤️❤️❤️
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD GET TO LISTEN TO THE 2021 CONCERT AGAIN!
Like seriously guys the concert was super great and I was so sad because I thought I would never get to hear those songs again and You released the full album. Like you made my day. Thank you so much for making these.
This is so great! Hopefully we will get to see other music videos from this album, like “Jim Roach tunes his Guitar”
Anybody I've shown NSP to solidly agrees that these guys would make killer music no matter what the lyrics are
I’m honestly so impressed with how much music nsp has been able to put out recently. The released The Prophecy, an absolutely incredible album of entirely original songs in October of 2021, then the remastered and released 9 of their best songs in October of 2021, and then released the acoustic album in December 2021. Even though some of those are old songs they’re still entirely new versions that are, in some cases, different songs in their own right. Not to mention that all of them have been top notch, idk how they’re doing it.
Even the speed of light can't out click me when it comes to NSP
I love how if you look you can see Brian singing along too. Even he can't hold back
The original song gives me goosebumps, but that melodic voice without all the extra is just Beautiful 😍
I feel like we need to talk more about the fact that Brian wears that mask during every live show, imagine how hot that would be
I love how well this works acoustically
I love this man. Every time I hear his voice, I want to give him a big bear hug. Wishing you all the best, sir.
That weird, gangly kid now is happily married. Loved. Successful. And one of the raddest dudes out there.
saw nsp in 8th grade right before i started high school completely changed my outlook on what i wanted to do with my life. next year starting college to get a degree in music. shout out you guys!!
It blows my mind that I can laugh my ass off with Dan and Arin and then come over here and get my emotional state rocked by Dan here. I know this one came from the heart and is relatable to me and so many people. Dan Avidan is a beautiful human.
The voice of an angel. The mane of a lion. A real chimera of awesome.
Silly Jim. Perfect for Dan's background vocals. Awesome on the guitar too.
You guys really are the most genuine people. I'm so glad to have had you guys by my side for all this time!
Absolutely adore this song. First heard it on a train in Tokyo. When I got off the train I sat down on a bench on the platform just to listen to it a few more times.
the comic moment is awesome too, besides how beautiful this song is and when you listen to it, its amazing
My husband and I love your music and comedy. Don't slow down in your career!!!
3:11 I love to think that Danny is thinking “Dammit, Jim! This isn’t what we rehearsed!”
Love how the piano shines through here
Jim just being there like "Oh, my chance to rip on Danny. Nice!"
So glad we get to experience this beauty again!
I love your music so much and this song expecially really inspires me.
I almost died 2 years ago and while I was in the hospital was when you did this acoustic online show, it helped me get through the toughest time in my life.
I turn 29 next month and I really hope I get through my awkward phase soon too XD.
Keep on being legends!
Dan’s vocals *KILLED* in this
The True Mark of a Singer is sounding the same even in Acoustic.I was introduced to NSP after I had escaped a Narcissist marriage by a Dear Friend because she knows what I like.Danny I am So Impressed with You and The Group and its An Honor&Priviledge to listen to You.Thankyou From My Heart for helping me get thru an incredible difficult time.🥰🥰
P.S.Hey Danny..Orgy for One😘...not Brian,he has an STD🤣...Just had to say it🤣
Danny's voice is so beautiful, it gives me chills everytime I hear it
Ninja brians silent assassin backup stares really brought it home
Hits as hard as the first time I heard the song and it's beautifully done by everyone every time. ❤
Maybe the best and most important NSP song. One of my favorite messages ever in a song.
Babe wake up, new NSP upload!
Brians shirt makes the fact that I stopped watching a Power of Love cover to watch this totally worth it.
Happy birthday Dan, I just want to say that this song is one of my feel good songs that I use to lift my spirits. Thank you for being who you are.
