    Great to see you back! Not only that, you really got me excited about this particular swing. Dry swings in the backyard seem very promising. I’ll check it out on the driving range tonight.

    welcome back jh. you're an absolute genius and a great blessing for golf Instruction. i have been following you for a long time. I pray for your continued health, and may God bless and keep you and yours. I have been taking lessons from Jim Venetos, who is in California. But I am definitely giving this swing type a try. Thanks.

      Im a long way from being a genius.. but thank tyou for the compliment.. what I am in fact is a very 'curious' person.. in that I am always trying to find a simpler way to swing a golf club consitently easier ..and this swing is one of those excursions of thinking.

    Thank you for returning to the range JH. You answered my question on sweeping the ball. I have
    always been a digger. After 5 operations on my hands I have to become a sweeper. I'm the guy
    who is always injured. No complaints old injuries come back at 75. I have only played 5 time
    in 2 years. I order R&L Bionic gloves and they help with the pain. I think this swing will help
    my whole body. Great demonstration on the swing. Thank you.

      I think this swing will be very sympathetic to all senior golfers body's.. because it doesnt emphasis having to rotate the shoulders/upper body deliberately.. the throwing back of the hands/arms with velocity will automaticaly create drag on the shoulders to respond.. and whatever 'amount' the shoulders respond will be done automaticaly.
      In your case dont grip the club with much pressure at all.. in fact the lesser amount of grip pressure you have the more the wrists will hinge in the throwing action.. the looser the grip the faster the clubhead will travel.
      Cheers JH

      I hit some balls on the range after watching all 3 videos and very happy with the results
      very straight but I was only swinging 70% or less. Working on the mechanics and
      sweeping the ball. Thank you for the detailed information.@@1atomicgolf

    Hello from Arizona, JH, and welcome back, For years i've been told to slow down my backswing, but I do everything quickly, and it never felt natural. I've been a big fan of Channellock, and I'm going to try to incorporate some of these ideas into that swing.

      Hi Sean,
      Arizona is one of my favourite places in the US .. its a perfect place to live for a Golfer.. you very rarely get rained out playing or practicing in Arizona.. and the heat never worried me at all.. Australia east coast is pretty hot as well .. and Arizona doesnt have any humidity to speak of so the heat is not uncomfortable for me at all.
      This swing process will work with CL no trouble at all .. I actually hit some shots with CL after I finished the videos and it was no trouble to adapt the process to the CL swing geometry.
      Cheers JH

      Hi Ken,
      Back footing the ball will always almost ensure you will not hit the ball fat.. I always just got people to move the ball further back at address when they came to for a lesson when they were experiencing hitting the ball fat.. and it always curred the problem.. the fat shots usually occur when players just unkowingly let the ball creep forward in their stance... this swing is really a simple swing to apply.. because its so much easier to control because of its shorter range of motion.
      Cheers JH

      Hi Herb,
      Happy holidays to you and your family.. I havent been very active the last 8 months because of a variety of reasons.. however the break has allowed me to research a lot of stuiff about the golf swing generally and I have come up with a lot of things to talk about in 2024 which I think will be of significant interest to Golfers..

    Thanks for another great video. With the inside takeaway, this swing seems to have some characteristics of the channel lock swing. Is this a correct observation?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому +1

      I think this video could make the Golf Swing a lot easdier for rank and file golfers generally because of its natural motion simplicity..he inside takeaway is very much a CL trait of application of the Channel Lock swing.

    Sir, when i keep ball at closer to trail foot, my ball goes very low and i ned to go higher so it can land softly on greens. What should I do?

    • @1atomicgolf

      Take a club with more loft.. Channel Lock because of its back foot position will always tend to deloft the golf club being used.

    In one of your Channel Lock videos you discovered the 10 finger grip in the palms. I tried it and like it. Are you still using it?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  11 місяців тому +1

      I use the split grip..all fingers and thumbs applied.. for chipping and pitching primarily...or when I want to hit a drive that will not excessively draw in flight.. I find the split hand's grip stops excessive hands/wrist activation during the downswing and through impact. .
      As well I was using thicker grips when I was implementing the split grip and I found it just easier to grip those bigger grips with the split grip .. I have gone back to normal size grips these days so I use the conventional Vardon type grip these days.
      Cheers JH

    I feel that u swing low in backswing to go higher in downswing finish. Is that right?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  10 місяців тому +1

      You shouldnt feel any difference in the backswing to through swing plane .. the swing should be equal in its circular path plane on both sides of the swing... you should feel the club is being swung 'around' the body .. not 'away' from the body.
      Cheers JH

    • @VimMitt
      @VimMitt 10 місяців тому

      Ok got it. Is it more flatter than steeper? Is it one plane swing?

  • @VimMitt
    @VimMitt 10 місяців тому

    Is it different than channel lock swing?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  10 місяців тому

      The swing is all about swinging the club 'around' the body.. Channel lock is about swinginging the club 'beside' the body.

    Hi JH, Good stuff. Does this work with driver? Thanks

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому +1

      Hi Jerry,
      The good thing about this swing is that it 'is' a swing for all clubs.. with the driver you just need to make sure you dont get any undue 'lift' in the backswing.. and the clubhead wanting to get to much sideways extension in the backswing.
      Just keep the trail arm soft and let it bend into the body '''around' the body... in the backswing.. feel the clubhead getting thrown around the body in the backswing.. just let it find its own way through sheer momentum.. dont try to position the clubhead anywhere.. just let it fly around your body like the shaft is a piece of rope and its going to wrap itself around your body on the backswing... dont direct the clubhead.. just throw it around your body.
      Cheers JH

      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому

      Hi John,
      Glad the swing type resonated with you... whilst 'brilliant' is probably to stronger of an embellishment for the methodology.. I do think its a ' Simplistic' application of natural body componentry for a golf swing... the motion is what we would apply naturally if we were wanting to swing something 'around' our body .. the 'around' motion I think is the secret to having the body respond naturally to the force energy of such a motion direction.

    What happened to Martin Ayer’s swing

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому

      Hi Michael,
      The Martin Ayers project is still ongoing.. I just havent had time to put the practice time in required to get the swing squared away in terms of understanding it totally and correctly.
      Marty and I will be finishing the project in the coming weeks.. I dont want to start talking about the swing yet because I just dont have it locked down completely yet.. the swing is what I think Hogan actually did when swinging a Golf Club.. so its well worth learning it .. but learning it absolutely correctly.

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому +2

      Hi David,
      Northbound is a Channel Martin Ayers and some other people promote.. I have nothing to do with the Channel.. Martin's swing methodology I have been getting indoctrinated to by Martin but because I havent had the time to spend learning the process to the extent I need to it will be a few weeks before I can give some insight into Martin's swing methodology.. the swing is like no other swing to uptake.. its brilliant but requires the learning process to be one of total commitment .. which hopefully going forward I can commit to fully.
      Cheers JH

    It appears you've abandoned the channel lock swing. I learned it from one of your old videos. Why have you left it behind?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  11 місяців тому

      I havent abandoned the Channel Lock swing.. it's actually the swing type I personally use when I play.
      The reason you dont see me promoting it these days is because Channel Lock is the same as 'all' the swing types I research on my channel.. they are just 'alternative' swing types for golfers to try.
      My Golf Channel is all about 'different' methods of swinging a golf club .. my channel would not be of much benefit to golfers who are seeking a new way of swinging a golf club because what they are currently using doesnt work for them for whatever reasons etc if I was only offering "one' type of swing process to try that could help a player with their current swing inadequancies.
      I did over a 100 videos on Channel Lock swing mechanics.. everything that I can give as an explanation of the swing is in those videos.. I have nothing else to add that can improve the explanation of the swing mechanics.
      Cheers JH

      @@1atomicgolf Thanks for the response. Your channel lock videos are older but I just discovered them. I'm around your age (70) and I've been searching for a swing I can call my final one. When I saw your channel lock videos I went to the range and did what I thought you were instructing. Everything went straight. Went out the next day. All was fine...until I started THINKING and analyzing what I was doing. On my 3rd trip the range it all went to hell and I now can't figure it out. This has happened with every "new" swing I discover. I practice 3 times a week but nothing seems to stick. Lots of shanks, some great shots, but no consistency like I had on day 1. Oh, well. My search continues.
