Greetings and thank you for your instruction they're very good. My one question is do you release your wrist through impact or do you keep it in the same position at the top of the backswing and using your body through the swing. Thanks again

Great stuff, have you ever seen Jack Kuykendall swing methods?

      Hi John,
I know of Jack Kuykendall .. he was the person who brought Moe Norman back from obscurity and resurrected the genius of Moe's swing mechanics... the entire modern World of Golf Swing enthusiasts owe Jack tremendous thanks for bringing back Moe and his incredible talents.... If it wasn't for Jack Moe conceivably would have never been resurrected to the World of current Golf instruction.
Jack did advocate an element of the principle I advocate in my video ... actually, Jack also advocated bending the lead arm at the elbow on the backswing for developing greater clubhead velocity.. which I happen to agree with.
      Cheers JH

I like this angle of the camera because we can see the ball flight. You remind me of Moe.

      Hi Gale,
It's always hard where I do the videos and the time of day I do them to get a contrast between the ball and sky so the ball can be visually distinguished.
I think the only thing I have in common with Moe Norman is my 'Quirkiness'.. I wish I had just 20% of his swing capabilities.

My own findings why Yogi hit it so pure is because his lead hand position is just off his hind foot. What this does is it pinned the lead hand close to the arm pit and now the "hinge" is secured. This actually eliminates early extension if you concentrate on pulling the downswing with the left shoulder. This is natural to him.

If you concentrate pulling 'UP' with the left/lead shoulder in the downswing you will get the lead arm/hand supporting the inline integrity of the grip end of the golf club at impact .
That action is called 'Parametric accelleration' .. the lead shoulder pulls'Up' against the clubhead firing 'down'.. Yogi had that process applied more than any other golfer of his era.. in fact in any era.

Mike Austin describes it as square to the swing arc.

      Hi Franco,
Mike Austin absolutely advocated what you are saying.. as did Byron Nelson.
Today Cameron Smith has the geometry in his swing more than any other topline player... his clubface points straight at the sky at the top of his swing.

JH, 30 years ago much of traditional teaching taught the rolling of the hands on the way back and rolling them to square at impact, I’ve played much better with a stronger grip and not having to manipulate the club face so much.

      Hi Jim,
I think the generally taught 'cocking' of the wrists in the backswing has caused the opening of the clubface in the backswing.. if you 'hinge' the trail wrist straight backwards in the initial movement of the clubhead away from the ball the clubface stays looking at the ball.. the hinging action is the same as a sideways paint brushing stroke.. the lead hand is pulled under instead of fanning away from the ball.

I think Arnold Palmer swung sut to shut ?

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  Рік тому +1

      Hi Les,
Cameron Smith swings shut to shut.. have a look at his clubface at the top of his backswing.. Tom Watson did the same at the peak of his career.. Byron Nelson said he just wanted to keep the clubface from rotating away from where it was at address... and remember the 'Square To Square' swing methodology was in vogue in the mid 50's .. and it was brought into the modern era by Jim Flick in the early 70's.. he ctually published a book called the 'Square to Square Golf Swing'.
Joe Dante Published his book called ' The Four Magic Moves To Winning Golf'.. he promoted the quintessential Square to Square Golf Swing..
A lot of World Tour Players today are shut face at the top of the backswing.. the majority of LPGA players are way shut at the top of the backswing .. I think technically its the best way to swing a golf club for consitent accuracy.
      Cheers JH

@@1atomicgolf Hi John , I swing the club this way after reading JoeDantes book , I think it helps getting foward shaft lean / compession. Cheers.

      Hi Les,
I think Dante's swing process is really the correct geometry for a Golf Swing.. I played the process for quite a while and had amazing accuracy results .. I used to feel my swing shape was a vertical straightline circle.. I never tried to move the clubface from where it was at address right throughout the backswing.. I felt zero rotatation of my foreams in the swing.. I think I must have looked like Steve Stricker's swing.. he doesnt manipulate the clubface at all .
      cheers JH
